I actually think this one sucks compared to the one in San Francisco. Although the store is much more spaced out and the racks are neater, the clothes are not labeled correctly. The hangers and clothing do not match in size so you have to actually go through each and every single piece of clothing to find the right size.
The selection is also less extensive. There is a lot more casual style clothing than designer and evening wear and the accessories and homeware sections are really lame.
Staff at the counter, cashier and customer service (all in one area) are really friendly and efficient, so was the fitting room attendant. Otherwise I wouldn't even have given them 2 stars!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 30, 2009
Dang, what happened to the selection? It's at a minimum, especially the big brand names like Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, and etc.
Even the shoe department area was measly looking.
I recently bought a no named brand sweater for under $15. It was really cute and very affordable.
I hope this place doesn't close down because every once in awhile, they have good things on clearance. *le sigh*Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kate T.Atlanta, GA112239679Nov 10, 2008
I love Loehmann's.. but this place is just a-OK, I come here just b/c its closer and double checking to see if they have the stuff in my size that I'm looking for and periodically checking to see if they have new stuff from LeSportsac (my recent addiction). This location doesn't have the whole shoe department like the one in Pasadena or Laguna Niguel. And the arrangement is a lot more messy and not as organize compare w/ my favorite Loehmann's location.
Pro:
- There is a Bed Bath and Beyond next to it.
- DQ across the street
- Jamba Juice close by
- closer to home
Con:
- Too much Asian shops here.. so less stuff in my size
- Poor management
- MessyHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - F R.Irvine, CA145812108Jun 24, 2008
Wow, seriously, I didn't review this place yet either? Thanks Ankur K. for reminding me to Yelp this place too.
There's great stuff at this Loehmann's compared to some of the other ones. There were Juicy Couture pet carriers here (some from Winter '07 season, which is practically brand new) as well as L.A.M.B bags! They didn't have my favorite (the silver L.A.M.B holiday '07 leather) but they had some of the cool ones, as well as a ton of the Rasta print, which I personally couldn't stand. They mostly had the purses but that's a given because the wallets were sold out everywhere.
I also don't think the prices are THAT cheap. A Juicy Couture purse would be cheaper at Saks (regular, not Off Fifth) on sale than full price here. However, the displayed goods here are at least neatly presented, unlike Nordstrom Rack (bleh!).
Not all of the goods in here are actually high-end designers and some of it is just poor quality. I bought a black sweater tunic here and the pigment rubbed off all over my light-colored purse even after I washed it. Too bad I washed and wore it because if I knew it rubbed off, I would've have returned it.
The clearance racks here are full of junk. Most people in Irvine will pay full price discount so if it's a discount off the discount price, it's just ugly. For example, they had Paris Hilton brand shirts (with her face plastered in crystals) going for like $20.
They also need to hire more people. There's always a line for returns and purchases and you can only hope you don't need anything out of the jewelry display case.
Good thing I live nearby because I hate trying on clothes in the public changing rooms. I just buy everything that semi-catches my eye and drag it home to try on.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kathleen B.San Diego, CA12747383Aug 1, 2009
Loehmann's is like the rack without the lines
I'd go here for jeans and 'work clothes' because they have the brands I like at decent prices. Bought true religion capris here for $99 and I wasn't even looking for jeans but couldn't pass it up! Also - I'm a size 12 and get depressed in the seas of size 0's and 2's but generally have no problem here.
Dresses this season were about $25. Got a little dress that I've made my summer of 09 dress.
Overall 3 stars because I'm never dying to go back and it can be hit / miss. Maybe one trip in the fall and one trip in the spring is good enough for me :).
Also the fitting room is communal but they DO have private rooms available.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Raymond R.La Mirada, CA6213Mar 8, 2008
In an effort to upgrade my now obsolete style, I took a ride with my brother and I to the store Loehmann's. I had never been inside one before, but per my bro's recommendation as a store "with a good selection of designer wear on the cheap," I headed out expecting to come away with some Andre 3000 type gear.
All I came away with was a frown. The store had a very small little corner for men, no shoe section for my gender, and the selection was mediocre. It reminded me a bit of Nordstrom Rack, with much smaller men's section
I'll admit, there were some designer clothes for fairly cheap (I looked long and hard at that Penguin blazer), but ultimately I'll pass the next time I'm thinking about upgrading the digs.
Andre's 3000 Stars divided by the 1000 times I thought of buying the Penguin blazer = 3 stars.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Amy K.Irvine, CA1213424Feb 3, 2009
Hit or miss is right...
I usually come here when I have time to waste and can actually browse through all of the sections. They have earrings here for pretty cheap (compared to department store prices) and sometimes you can find a nice pair of designer jeans for MUCH cheaper. I bought a pair of Joe's Jeans and Paper Denim & Cloth jeans for fairly cheap prices.
If you come here regularly, you should definitely sign up for the Loehmann's Insider Club for coupons/deals.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Beverly T.Fremont, CA18658536Jun 19, 2008
Eh, a-ok.
I have found some pretty good deals here in the past. For instance, I bought Diesels for $20 (i know... crazy) and Joe's for 60. But I returned the Joe's.
I think this store used to be great because I would always find stuff there. But lately, there really hasn't been much. They rarely have my size and it seems to be a slight mess.
From my experience, it tends to be a hit or mis type of thing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - R P.Irvine, CA06Aug 25, 2010
I would have given it 2 stars for the clothing selecion, but they had some nice shoes so I gave it an extra star.
The clothing was mostly blah, mostly for the older crowd.
They had BCBG, Jones New York and Ralph Lauren shoes for around 50-60 dollars. You could probably find the same shoes at TH Maxx for less, but they are better organized here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
