My 2015 Audi needed a new battery so I called Les Schwab to see if they could give me a quote and the guy told me that I should bring the car in as they would have to look at it before they could give me quote. So I took it in , they were not that busy and they were able to get the car into a service bay fairly quickly. After sitting there for an hour with no update from anyone, I asked how much longer it would be to get an estimate, and was told that it would take another hour to test the battery. I said I did not need to have it tested, I already knew it needed to be replaced, I just wanted a quote to install a new one. They said ok, we'll have the car brought up. It then took another 30 minutes before they finally brought the car back, and then the guy proceeded to tell me that I needed a new battery, although they were still unsure which one so couldn't give me an exact quote.
Horrible customer service, and I have zero confidence that they are even competent enough to properly install the correct battery, I would rather pay more to have the Audi dealer do it, at least they actually know what they are doing.

They always go the extra mile at giving great service. I like the reminders they send me when it is time for a tire totation or brake inspection. When they do these inspections they give me a very thorough explanation and report of all findings. They also provide recommendations and cost estimates for all repairs as well as a suggested priority schedule. All of this is provided in writing. Customer safety is always the top priority. I have complete confidence in them.

I first gave this les Schwab a try back in December when I needed new brakes. The service was good and everyone I interacted with was friendly - however, they're very expensive compared to other places. Quoted $1500 for brakes and CV joint. Ended up just doing the brakes myself and paying $80 for parts. How they charge over $1000 for brakes blows my mind.
Went again to get a flat fixed, and they said they couldn't plug it and needed to replace all four tires. Quoted me $600, but I found the same service for $400 at discount tires.
If you're like me, and don't have extra money to spend on car maintenance, don't go to Les Schwab. There are more affordable options in Bellingham, and Les Schwab has a reputation for upselling!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

When performing a brake service, we replace pads and calipers every time and, if needed, resurface or replace rotors per the manufacturer's specifications. First thing is they cannot offer OEM parts for many vehicles. I have bought and brought many cars over the years to this location and others in the Bellingham area. My latest is a 07 Lexus RX350. It needed a plethora of suspension work and rear brake work. First drive out of the shop, not so great, let me know Mike, Raj and the crew jump on the fix. They offered to rebuild struts assembly w OEM, quick Lifetime strut replacement, I pick. I cannot recommend this place enough for honest, warranties, safe work. I will update as needed as a Yelp ambassador. Until then, drive safe and thanks for singing that like button. George

Jul 8, 2021Previous reviewI went to the Meridian location with an old truck new to me, they recomended new rear brakes and R upper ball jpint assembly. Still had driveabilty issues, was recommended by my tranny shop to go to James St. After many challenging attempts, Verne asst. manager and Mike the manager resolved the issues. Verne and John, as well as Mike adjusted not only my brakes, but also my bil,l which is very highly appreciated as I did lose time as a small residential contractor. My truck drives like new now, Thank You Verne, Mike, and John very much! I highly recommend this shop.

Always a long wait at les schwab! So we tried Discount Tire, in and out in under a half hour for new set of tires!!!Discount tire is out new go to place now!!! By by les schwab

They offer many complimentary services. Overall, I am very happy with their service, but I decided to take one star off because there was a problem with my last visit.
I brought in my car because one of the tires was slowly losing pressure. They really couldn't fix it (without replacing the wheel), but they looked at it and there was no charge. I was pretty impressed by their COVID-19 response: plexiglass, hand sanitizer at the entrance, face masks on all employees, including technicians working on cars. The reason I took one star off is that the tire was inflated to 47psi. The manufacture recommendation is 33psi. I know it was a complimentary service, but it is such a basic mistake that a professional should not make. I'm sure it's an isolated case; so, I will bring in my car for future needs.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take your vehicle to THIS PARTICULAR LESS Schwab. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW !!!!!!!!! I actually wouldnt believe this if it didnt happen to myself. The way I was treated was deplorable. I had a flat on my BMW. I recently purchased new tires from a differant Les Schwab. One i have never had an issue with. One of my tires was flat and I needed to take my BMW to get serviced. Since my tires were new I purchased one tire so I could drive my BMW to the shop. They put the wrong sized tire on my car. My BMW is all wheel drive. Having the wrong sized tire on an all wheel drive car is a very serious problem. It resulted in severe damage to my car. My mechanic is the one who noticed the tire was the wrong size. They said they needed the right size tire to properly diagnose exactly what other damage had been done. I took the wheel into LESS Schwab. I explained what happened and simply asked if they could put the right size tire on it. I was refered to the assistant manager Vern. I again explained what had accured and asked for the right sized tire to be put on. He then asked how much i wanted to pay. I said to Vern you put on the wrong sized tire and I just wanted the right size put on. At this point he called me a liar and said he put the same size on as was removed. This of course is not at all true. He called me a liar in front of every customer and employee in the building. I then explained to him all the damage they caused and asked for the right size tire. Again he called me a liar. I was not and i am still not lying. They put the wrong sized tire on and somehow blame me. There is literally thousands of dollars in damage THAT THEY CAUSED. Vern the man child apparently cant man up to his mistake. I took my wheel to the Les Schwab on Meridian where I showed them the same paperwork. They asked me if they were going to take care of it and I said no. He said they should. He then asked who I was dealing with over there. I told him Vern and he said and I quote "no wonder he is a dick" Apparently other people know he is a problem but apparently not his own manager. I tried to speak to his manager but was told he is on vacation. I then tried to call corporate and was on hold for an hour before i was told i need to leave a message. Still have not heard back. I KNOW THIS IS A LONG COMPLAINT BUT I HOPE IT HELPS SOMEONE NOT TO TAKE THEIR CAR TO THE LESS SCHWAB ON JAMES ST. TAKE IT TO THE ONE ON MERIDIAN. IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO GET COMPLETELY FUCKED UP, GET NO HELP, GET INSULTED, AND TREATED LIKE YOU ARE A PIECE OF SHIT TAKE IT TO THE JAMES ST LESS SCHWAB. I really only wish i could give them a negative review. The fact I have to give them a 1 star is not fair to me. Worst retail experience of my life. The fact Vern has a Job is mind boggling and a testament to their lack of any decency at all.

I recently bought a new car which, of course, means I've managed to get several flat tires because, hey, who doesn't like to spend extra money on their brand new car! Thanks to the fine folks at Les Schwab, though, I haven't had to spend *too* much because they fix my flats for free (since I had to buy a tire or two from them when I ran over a particularly nasty spike). Their showroom is pleasant enough, though (clearly) it smells horribly of new tire. If the wait is too long, or the smell too strong, it's a quick walk up the street to a couple of restaurants and they will call you when your car is done. But I prefer to stay in the showroom, where they have tables and little workstations for us laptop folks (and yes, free Wi-Fi), plus complimentary coffee and popcorn while you wait. It's not the most glamorous place, but hey it's a tire company!
