Came here with a friend and we had an absolutely amazing meal
The ambience and aesthetic is enjoyable and relaxed but in a very Americana vibe. All the staff from front desk to the servers and waiters were incredibly friendly and helpful
To start we got a half dozen oysters to split and they were really good
For my main I had the duck and my friend had the trout. We devoured them and after we realized we should've taken pictures for the review here
Can't wait to come back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sinead O.New York, NY01Mar 18, 2024

My husband and I make going to Le Crocodile an annual stop when attending the On Air Fest (podcasting conference) at the beautiful Wythe Hotel. Several friends of ours have expressed how intimidated and old they feel when they went. I can't answer this for them - age is a state of mind and fashion is an invitation. I think if you can appreciate artistry and embrace it in your fashion, your ambiance, your cuisine - then this restaurant will feel much for accessible to you. It's a very good setting - a beautiful space with delicious food in a quality decor. You're eating in a painting. Should we ever eat in a place that isnt beautiful or packaged in peace? No? Your bill might not bring you peace $$$ but if go with the expectations to drop a couple of hundred dollars, enjoy it! Then you wont squelch your experience with stress and expectation. It's a lovely restaurant in the newly emerged Williamsburg. Enjoy yourself and the moment for being in a neighborhood and an atmosphere that embraces new thoughts and ideas and creations. Live a little. It isnt a big deal. It's just living up to New Yorkers with dreams. Don't let that intimidate you. Just join the party. And tip well.
I've had many things there - the roast chicken was delicious the last time we were there and we did not leave hungry.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 30, 2024
Last minute decision to have dinner with my bestie and we chose this restaurant which is conveniently located.
The atmosphere and decorations are subtle yet classy.
We ordered wine and the staff was quite knowledgeable to give his opinion on wine.
Onion soup was delicious and met my expectations.
Duck could be a little crispy for the skin. Other than that we enjoyed our time and food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 18, 2024
Le Crocodile is an upscale french restaurant located in a hotel in Williamsburg. I thought the restaurant had very lovely ambience, which is dark and illuminated with soft lighting. It's a great spot for a date, though the menu is fairly pricey. Service is nice, though we got booted two hours in as there was another reservation behind us.
I got one of their signature gin cocktails, which was good and strong. I came with a group and also ordered appetizers to share, including beef tartare, mushroom pate, and leeks with hazelnut. I thought all of these appetizers were delicious and very special.
For mains, I shared a steak with frites and chicken with frites. I thought the chicken was overall better, as it was basically half of a chicken that was roasted in a yummy and herby brine. It was a great value dish, and I couldn't finish it and ended up taking a lot home.
I didn't enjoy the medium rare steak as much. It was much smaller and only four pieces. I thought that one of the middle cuts were pretty good, and there was an interesting chewiness/bounciness to the meat that I've never had before. However, the end piece felt charred and burnt.
Overall, I'm glad that I tried this place. I thought the appetizers really shone and enjoyed the chicken entree.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 15, 20241 check-in
This review is for their breakfast only...
Walked in and was seated in a nice, comfy booth. Our server greeted us promptly and we were given waters and our menu. I was kind of disappointed to see that there wasn't much variety in the way of breakfast items but I thought, hey, the few items they have are probably delicious!
My sister ordered a full English breakfast (it was not) and I ordered the eggs w/ artichoke, spinach, and gigante beans. I understand that the English breakfast was Le Crocodile's version but then it shouldn't be called that if it's missing the Heinz baked beans (what are gigante beans anyway?!), bacon, and fried bread. My entree was literally two sunny-side up eggs (kind of undercooked, too) covered w/ a couple artichoke halves, a sprinkle of spinach, and those gigante beans again. Again, I know I'm not dining at a diner but for the price point of these entrees, you'd think it would at least come with a side of toast. No, that will be an extra $7.
Service was pleasant and that was the only saving grace. The breakfast was a disappointment and while I would certainly return for lunch/dinner, I would not recommend this place for breakfast. Especially when there are so many breakfast/brunch options in the neighborhood.Helpful 5Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 3 - Apr 22, 2024
I enjoyed my dinner at Le Crocodile. We started with the scallops with rhubarb which was my favorite bite of the night. We also got a duck spread, the escargot, and steak frites. All dishes were good, and the steak was cooked well. I had the last bit of the black pepper sauce on the steak with bread to round out the meal. I would recommend coming here for a special occasion!

I found out that my sister had dinner reservations here for her birthday. I'm across the country, but somehow wanted to see if they could accommodate some sort of pre-pay surprise option and they delivered!
I spoke with Ashley who was so helpful in helping me get this going. Their reservations were at 6:30pm, and once seated, they were greeted with (surprise) oysters and a Veracruz cocktail for the birthday girl! They even added a birthday note on top quality paper!
We will definitely be dining here on our next visit to NY!

I actually like this place a lot. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Portion was very good that we didn't have room for dessert lol. Duck breast was executed well that even beat Le coucou's. Its skin was encrusted with spices and crispy while the meat was tender and cooked medium. Not to mention its delicious beet sauce that perfectly complimented the duck. I also like how open the restaurant is. Service was not Michelin level but it's decent.

Omg, my mouth is watering as I write this. Le crocodile has become one of my favorite Brooklyn spots. The staff was so helpful and made plenty of suggestions based on our cravings. I came here with a two other friends and we were blown away. We ordered the mushroom truffle pate and that was so flavorful but not over powering, it had all the right notes and was balanced. We had the tuna tartare and that was light and flavorful. The scallops were to die for and I loved the presentation. As our mains we ordered the orzo caccio y pepe, chefs kiss it was so good, and the fish!! Amazing
