Fantastic restaurant. Went with four friends and was treated like a King. Had the five-course "mystery" menu. Just asked if we can't eat something. The waiter was enthusiastic, exciting and very attractive - which helps! He explained each meal very carefully as well as the wine. He reminds me of my attorney.
I thought the food was incredible and we had a special "guest chef" that night. So I am not sure if they swap in and out chefs weekly but the meal was lekker. The portions were big for European standards but not too big. The wine was very good as well. They were very generous with the bread on the table....with lekker olive oil and butter.
Odd thing I found about the place is the big shaker of salt on the tables. Right off the supermarket shelf. I would think that if you're confident of the way the food is prepared, salt would not be recommended or needed, but this is a big-boy thing of salt.
HUGE space in West Amsterdam. Near an old dyke and canal. It must really rock in the summer time with that outdoor location. I will be going back for sure.

Very good food in a cute, French style but still casual ambiance. I'm not a great fan of stuffy, put-up restaurants, so this was the perfect combination.
Great food, good company and friendly staff. Yes. I can understand why this is a populair spot.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Marcel V.Portland, OR354854May 26, 2019
Loved it. Definitely going back. All courses were good and the price is right too. Friendly staff and authentic.

Such a nice and quirky place to visit for a great evening meal. You'll get a fixed five course meal for a reasonable price (of course they will keep your dietary wishes in mind). We had a dinner here back in August and it was truly a treat. I heard this place has been around for ages here and if you get there you'll understand why.
They are a bit inflexible if you don't eat things like cheese, but there is always something you can negotiate about.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Yacki H.Lebanon, OR204191May 1, 2017
Every high star review is accurate! My husband and I came to enjoy our first honeymoon meal from the Oregon area for the vegetarian Monday five-course meal and we were amazed and stuffed. Definitely couldn't finish our fourth and fifth course. The staff was lovely and the atmosphere was chill. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone interested in high quality food and amazing service!

While staying in Amsterdam, the people we were staying with suggested this restaurant to us for our anniversary. What a great suggestion.
A five course meal is prepared for you (no choice in the matter, but it was fantastic). I could see how some people would not like this, but everything was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect and the decisions made in the kitchen were a great mix of traditional and unique.
Make reservations because the dining room is small and intimate. Great local spot. Wouldn't have found it without the local's recommendation.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Kelsey V.Amsterdam, The Netherlands492458Jul 28, 2016
We had a fabulous brunch here on a weekend (can't remember if it was Sunday or Saturday, I think Sunday). They had only one dish, an egg dish, and one cake. The egg dish came with salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. They have a nice terrace with both sun and shade. Unpretentious and great.

I had been wanting to go to this place for years, as it has a great reputation. Indeed, the food did not disappoint, I liked the concept (fixed five-course menu for 37,50), and the interior was very cosy. However, I was shocked at how unfriendly the service was. Also, it took a very long time (maybe an hour) before our main course arrived - we got the impression they had forgotten about us. All in all a disappointing experience - what a pity at such a potentially nice place.

MUST DO! A friend of mine that lived in Amsterdam recommended it and I am so glad I listened to his suggestion. There is one menu daily. 5 course meal for €35. Most people were seated outdoors, very cozy. The restaurant provides blankets for night time if you're chilly. My friend and I stayed for three hours, they spaced the meals well and weren't rushed at all. Delicious, fresh food.
