The food here is pretty good and is consistently great tasting! The staff are always friendly and the inside seating is enticing and inviting. They even have cool cups that can be taken home and are dishwasher safe.
I totally like their sauces and I have found their Katsu is amazing. It's not over cooked and is juicy. I have found some places over cook the Katsu and it gets hard and crusty and kinda hard to eat it chew, but this place does a great job with the Katsu.
I do think it's a bit pricey by a few dollars but I would come back occasionally for it. Also the lava cake is totally amazing and you should try it at least once.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Robert B.Riverton, UT100172Mar 17, 2023
Ordered Teriyaki Beef only to be told they are out of Teriyaki sauce!
This is the only reason I stopped here. How in the world do you run out of teriyaki sauce when it's one of the main ingredients on your menu!!!
Even though I was very disappointed they were out of teriyaki - the meat was delicious.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer N.South Jordan, UT07517Apr 16, 2023
This was a disappointing visit. Three of us went for lunch Saturday and they were out of teriyaki sauce so the chicken and beef were low on flavor, you may ask why we didn't order something else, but they were out of kalua pork and Katsu chicken. We clearly should have left but didn't have a lot of time.
I gave it two stars because the people working were friendly and I felt sorry for them having to tell us they were out of the food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 4, 2022
Meh.... We came here prior to attending the high school playoffs (yay American Fork Cavemen who won the 6A state championship). The service was extremely slow and they were out of a lot of things -- white rice and steak -- uh, two things both my son and husband love at Mo'Bettahs. But, this was a reminder: Todo, we aren't at Mo'Bettah's anymore.
What we did order was good but not memorable.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 28, 2021First to Review
Kokonut opened to the public on Friday. I decided to stop by Saturday evening. They definitely have your typical plate lunch option, which is what I ordered, but they've also got some fun things I want to try down the road. Hawaii nachos and their Hawaiian themed burgers stood out to me.
Service was friendly and you can tell that they have put some solid money into this concept. Restaurant is pretty!!
The food was good. Mac salad was nice and creamy. Chili teriyaki sauce was a nice option. I'll definitely be back! Didn't leave with the "wow" feelings so hence the 4 stars and not 5 but I think Kokonut will definitely become a regular spot for me.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 27130101Jan 1, 2022
Not the best. It's overpriced and not worth it.
The rice was so hard and dry, I was surprised they were even serving it. We went around 2/3pm, so I don't know why it'd be so hard.
Despite paying a bunch for 2 katsu chicken plates (the chicken was bland and cold), a meat plate (small meat portions), and a loco moco plate, we all gave up and threw them away after a few bites. We couldn't even finish them, nothing taste great.
A pro is that the inside of the restaurant was clean and modern!
Definitely not coming back, not worth the price and it doesn't even taste good. I feel bad for inviting my friends to eat here with me.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brittain H.Carterville, Provo, UT013Feb 4, 2023
We had a craving for it and showed up at 755 assuming they closed at 9. Turns out they closed at 8 so we went in and asked the hours to clarify. The staff said they would gladly take our order and the portions were huge, food was fresh and staff was very kind. They were out of steak and spam musubi but I think it's fine considering we were last call. Will return!

Both times I've come they don't have food ready...the girl said it was 40 minutes for rice. How do you not have rice at a Hawaiian restaurant

Everyone seems to be greeted with "Welcome to Kokonut" as they walk in. Staff is friendly, place is clean, and there is a variety to choose from if you're eating low/no carb.
The nachos are assembled in layers so every chip has something on them. They add queso AND melt shredded cheese, green onions, chicken or pork (I liked the pork, it's smokey and salty, in a good way), and a dollop of pineapple salsa. Even though the chips aren't low carb, this dish had an overall fresh feel. The toppings are done lightly (probably the right ratio), though I wonder if they can add extra queso for a fee.
This place will be on my list of options when I'm in Provo because of their healthier menu choices.
Went next door to Mooyah's for a shake - I don't recommend it. Over-processed and gooey instead of ice creamy.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kayla M.UT, UT071Jan 28, 2023
Usually we love this place but the crew today was very disappointing. We came in the early evening and only two other couples were here and every table was filthy and sticky. While waiting for our food I had to go ask for our table and chairs to be wiped down and all the worker had to say was sorry we are busy. But doesn't seem very busy when only 3 groups are in your restaurant the least you could do is provide a clean place to eat if you have such a large dining area.
