So it's my first time to this restaurant. Was craving some galbi. So I walk in... small place- mom and pop and it looks like the owners work there. Clean and simple. 4 tables inside, 2 tables outside.
I got the kbbq ribs and spicy pork. It's GOOD. Like "my momma used to make" good. I'm Korean. I know. I was also a chef. They cook not using a flat bed but with an open flame grill. Makes a difference.
Plate came with white rice, two types of meat, ginger dressing salad, two slices of orange, and macaroni.
Galbi is sweet and soft, but chewy. The spicy pork is a little dry, but spicy and sweetish. Fruit and vegetables look fresh and macaroni tastes good.
Also came with kimchi. When I go back I'll order a side of kimchi.
Definitely worth the $15.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 5, 2016
Accustomed to OG KBBQ from Koreatown, this place is okay. I'm not sure what I expected, but my Korean friend told me I'm use to "the expensive stuff" (i.e., good cuts of meat), "versus the AYCE kinda KBBQ". Well. So does that make this on par with most AYCE KBBQs? The flavors were all there, but I had an issue with the quality of the meat.
I nevertheless complimented the owner on bringing an authentic taste to NLB, and he countered with, "We're going to change some of the recipes to be more to your liking." That racist statement right there should have taken all stars away, as well as my business, but I honestly think his intent was good. Sigh. Sir, you don't know "my" taste. As he's talking about the new menu items of KBBQ tacos and fries (like asada fries), he has me twisted.
Anyway, if you're looking for an authentic flavor in the area, here you go.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Andy N.Huntington Beach, CA4839171222287Oct 5, 2016
This local business in Long Beach is awesome! It's like a teriyaki joint. But better quality! The galbi is the star here! A bone in short rib that is made to order. Comes out perfectly grilled and marinated. It's very tender and comes with rice, salad, macaroni salad, and kim chi. What a perfect comfort meal. It's 11.99 for the plate. It's not fast food. It's good food done right

1 combo plate, 1 spicy pork plate, 1 bulgogi plate, only 1 kimchi side given for all 3 plates. Mac salad not that great. Salad taste like the oranges they had sitting on it. Meat was OK at best. Hubby's galbi was tough. Sauce was good though.
Def. not worth the 35 bucks we spent.
Not a repeatable place for me and mine. Better off going to L&L or Tokyo Teriyaki.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tina N.Orange County, CA3312441226Apr 24, 2016
I'm surprised this place isn't more packed!
This is the best place to get some delicious and affordable kbbq! I've been here twice and they never disappoint. I usually get the $12.99 Galbi combo plate to go. I got it with bulgogi and it comes with macaroni and a salad. The meat is marinated to perfection and is fall off the bone good. We were told they make only a small batch everyday so everything is fresh!
When they say it takes 15 minutes it really does take a full 15 minutes since they are cooking everything on the spot. I usually hate salads but their dressing makes me want more. Also they ask you if you want kimchi for free and yes of course it's so good!
Tip: they have a rewards stamp card at the register you should get so you can redeem a free chicken plate after 10 purchases. There's only a husband, wife, son, and one worker that's usually there. Their restaurant could use an upgrade and remodeling but their food is what you should be there for anyways!
I definitely recommend this place!!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robert D.Garden Grove, CA61766Jul 12, 2017
Came in during lunch and decided to check out this local Korean BBQ joint. Was greeted by the elderly couple and ordered our meals. Place was empty when my coworker and I arrived but a few individuals did come in.
Food came out quickly and in a styrofoam container to use. The tacos tasted home made and paired nicely with the kimchi. There wasn't a lot of meat in the taco like you would see at a traditional Mexican taco stand and the macaroni wasn't as tasty as I would hope. The price for the 3 taco combo was decent at $6.50 after tax.
Overall the meal was pretty good and I would probably come back again to check out their burritos.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 4, 2016
Love the food! My husband drove by this place on his way to take our dog to the vet and decided to give it a try. What a delightful surprise!!! You would not think from the outside and location that the food would be so great!!! It's about $28 for 2 combo plates but so worth the money!

Korean BBQ fast food cooked to order. Takes about 15 mins to cook the ribs from the time you order. I ordered the Galbi Rib Plate which came with white rice, macaroni salad, green salad, and kimchi.
I have to say the ribs were full of flavor but not very tender. Macaroni salad was good but the green salad had too much dressing. Kinda pricey for a fast food place.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
