Johnny Rockets

This Johnny Rockets really brought back some nice high school memories when I came to this location in Manhattan Beach. It's in the same plaza as Gelson's Market and there is plenty of parking to be found. My daughter and I came between lunch and dinner time, so it was not busy.

We ordered a kids cheeseburger and upgraded the drink to a milkshake (my daughter LOVED that upgrade option) and also the chili cheese hotdog and a malt for myself, of course. If you come to Johnny Rockets, you must order a milkshake. It's a must.

The service was great and the food came out very quickly. The server even gave my daughter the Johnny Rockets hat and activity set for her to draw and color. She really had a blast eating there. I am bummed that you don't get to put in nickels into the music box at each table now to choose your music. You have to download an app to suggest a music genre to play.

Hadn't been in a Johnny rockets in ages, bf and I were around the area and stoped by. Outdoor seating with heater and a clear curtain were available, which is where we sat because we had our dog.
From the beginning Ernesto our server was super attentive and friendly. Gave my dog a water bowl without me asking, gave my bf a sample of a dipping sauce so he could try before ordering the item.
Overall stupendous service, I have worked in the customer service field for over 15 years and with that comes a "higher expectation " of what I expect.


Ernesto, you went above and beyond to serve us, you deserve a raise.

Honestly, I didn't know there was a location in Manhattan Beach. It's beautiful!! I love the fact that it isn't inside a mall. Also the booths are gorgeous and private. There's also dining tables that's inside yet outside when it comes to getting fresh air. The restaurant is dressed up so beautiful. Perfect for a date or to take young ones. The prices are a bit high yet the portions makes it worth it. I tried the route 66 and a vegan chocolate shake. Not only was the burger nice and hot but it was arranged perfectly. It wasn't thrown together like most burger joints. The turkey patty was the right size, onions and mushrooms were fresh as well and cheese was melted just right. The vegan chocolate shake was mind blowing actually. There were something like cookie crumbs in it that made extra appealing to the tastebuds. My hubby went with the Greek salad and mountain dew. The service we received was efficient and welcoming. Would I go back? Yes indeed!!!!

Can't go wrong coming to Johnny Rockets for lunch. Ordered the smokehouse double, original double, and chicken club sandwich on sourdough. Love that they have healthy options too. And shakes here are always delicious.

Service was attentive, friendly and helpful.

Ambiance is a old school soda shop feel. Glad it's still around close by. Will be back!

Food excellent. The burger was so fresh. The patty was not dry. The lettuce was crisp and had a crunch to it.

The fries were probably some of the best fries I have tasted.

Came here yesterday and ordered burgers, bacon cheese fries and onion rings they were so good. Burgers were so fresh and buns toasted perfectly. Onion rings were perfection. Strawberry /banana shake w whipped cream was a treat. My salad was fresh and the right amount of chicken. It was the best meal I've had in awhile. We looked as happy as our happy ketchup smiles . The service was great! Everyone who works there is super nice. It's local and plenty of parking. Sorry I have no pics I was too excited to eat I didn't take any.

Classic burger spot! Love the early diner vibes too. Staff is friendly, we were sad the jukebox wasn't working. Super stoked about them adding vegan milkshakes as we are lactose, so now we can enjoy burgers and a shake!

My friend wanted a good burger. Can I even say gourmet burger?! Either way we stopped here for a quick bite.

We enjoyed our burgers. I got the Original with caesar salad and my friend got the Smokehouse Double with Tater Tots w/ bacon & cheese. Also a Hershey Peanut Butter malt, they finished pretty fast. Overall, I felt it was really good.

Service here is exceptional! The snowman ketchup art was a nice touch around the holidays, and the mushroom swiss burger was great. If you come in, go get yourself a malt or shake definitely the best part of the meal. Perfect lunch spot for friendly staff and a fine meal.
