Jack In the Box

I couldn't sleep. I needed a hot apple turnover. I needed delicious fried pastry and apple filling flavor. In the old days I could go to Jack In The Box to satisfy my craving for a hot apple turnover. Now I have to go to Izzy's Cafe. I still visit Jack on my birthday to get my free tacos on my birthday or if there is some other free food promotion.

Jumbo jack with single beef patty. Mild beef flavor, bacon was crispy and had good flavor. Lettuce and tomato was good and fresh. This could be a great burger but the beef patty was the weak link. It didn't have fresh beef flavor, fresh grilled flavor, or seasonings.

Double jack was just like the Jumbo Jack except for there being 2 beef patties resulted in more beef flavor.

Taco ordered with meat only. Large crispy fried tortilla with a small amount of meat paste. Crunchy tortilla tasted of corn. Meat paste was seasoned pretty good. I prefer my beef shredded or in chunks carne asada style.

Onion rings were greasy had a little crunch and onion flavor was overpowered by the greasy flavor.

I loved Jack In The Box in the old days when they had the cool Jack outside, gave out balloons to kids, and had delicious hot apple turnovers. Nowadays I don't feel like I belong here.

2) This Location is a little Get-O, When you see grown Men on Bikes riding around the streets to get a burger..... that's Not a good sign, Real Men own vehicles

3) Since this location is the closet to The Jack In The Back Headquarters.....they offer unique test-trail menu items such as Chili Cheese Curly Fries, Bacon Milk Shake, and items like that

I had a yearning for some chicken tenders, and I figured I could get them rather quickly here. I order them and a couple of tacos and a vanilla milkshake.

The tenders were good. I received 5 for $4.79. The all white chicken meat was tender and slightly stringy. The mystery meat (soy) was a little on the mushy side, but the shell was crunchy and tasted good. The star of my meal was the real ice cream vanilla milkshake. It was thick and rich, and was initially so thick, that I could not even suck it through the straw. Regarding the service, after a small order mix mishap, everything else went smoothly. The food came out at a reasonable amount of time and the employees were nice.

I like vanilla milkshakes....

Order my fave item on the menu: JIB tacos.

The taco shells were a bit stale, the cheese was not completely melted, and there wasn't much sauce. It was dry. I was disappointed...

Friendly service and quick, but failed to deliver...

After a solid outing with some of yelp's finest at Tobacco Rhoda's, then closing out West Coast Tavern, the crowds are thinning out after 2am. I had hoped to catch a late nite/early morning snack with the evening's survivors, but it just wasn't in the cards this time. Instead I, helped out on unnecessary cab fare and generic cabbie chit chat by motoring a couple of my fellow yelpers back to their respective homes, safe and sound.

With my VIP escort missions completed, I was still craving, but the adrenaline levels must have waned. So rather than sit alone at a diner and pass out, I just wanted to grab something simple. Not many places open after 3:30am, but thankfully the drive-thru window @ JitB is available. Their tall, brightly lit restaurant sign is the beacon that calls out, "Come to me..." At the menu board speaker and also when I pull up to the window I receive the most cheerful greetings. I've experienced the low-energy store associate especially at random hours like this and it can be a sad scene. Not here, though, and not this time. She confirms my order again and heads back to the kitchen area to help out probably because it's a bare bones crew. I'm a fan of convenience, customer service, menu variety with options, value pricing, and fast food that tastes good to me...albeit after hitting the bars. Jack in the Box hit the marks on my criteria for this visit.

I would rate it zero stars if i could! I felt lazy to make a lunch for work so i went throught the drive through on my way to work. FIRST there was nobody in the store! The drive through lady was mopping the floor, only costomer service i got was to pay and recieve my food.
SECOND i ordered the ultimate burger for $ 4.99 it looked worse than a $1.00 menu burger... no pride make this sandwich! I had to take a picture !

The ladies working the drive thru window are always so sweet, friendly and professional!
I go during lunch time, and one of them always remembers me, and asks me how im doing.
It's nice to see happy workers.

Food is efficient here.
But sometimes the burgers seem dry.

Overall, just giving them a lot of stars for great customer service.

They went above and beyond today. The Drive-Thru cashier probably didn't hear me well. I said Jr. Jumbo jack with no cheese and she gave me a Jumbo jack with cheese. I walked in and told another person I wanted a Jr. Jumbo jack with no cheese. The lady replaced the burger and refunded me the cost of the Jumbo Jack with cheese.

Picture this: A poor little Asian chick rolling up to a Jack in the Box in Kearny Mesa of all places in her beat up, dirty '95 Camry and being addressed on the intercom as though she were at a 5 star restaurant.

As if their unique logo wasn't indication enough, this place is special, dude. Perhaps more importantly, my food and fries came fresh and piping hot. I love it when my curly fries aren't made with old oil (you can judge by the lightness/darkness of the color).

And of course, just before driving off, the cashier wishes me a good night and tells me to drive safely. Isn't that sweet? Best Jack in the Box ever :)

Late night churros were crunchy, fresh, warm and tasty. They had this brown sugar thick pudding in the middle. It was gross, because I lile original churros. I tried the new golden oreo and its good. If you like regular oreo shake you will like this one! Potato wedges and cheese was warm and fresh.
