Not your typical Chinese food. Very diverse menu that allows us to go with friends who love sushi while we prefer their other dishes. Something for everyone.

I was under the impression I had reviewed this eatery in the past given the numerous times both dining in and ordering take out. For all those times I would have given them 4 stars even tho wait for food had always been long (30-40 minutes) but food was always good.
Tonight I ordered take out and other than the dumplings which were very good, the food was beyond disappointing. The J Fuji roll which I always ordered and devoured had a very different taste-don't know if it was the seaweed wrap or another fish but the rest of the family also tried and agreed it did not taste right. The chicken amazing was very soggy and flat in taste and minimal sauce. We are thinking that maybe it sat for a while and hence got soggy because they told us an hour wait for pick up and We got there in 50 minutes and was already waiting for us. That dish was beyond uneatable! I called there to tell them in a nice manner how disappointed we were with our take out and the man on the phone said he would let the chef know...nothing else. My husband called and was not nice given the dismissive tone I had received from my earlier call, later to find out it was a young man I had dealt with. During the husband's call the young man then said to bring the food back to get a refund. So we bagged everything but the dumplings since they enjoyed those and as I am getting back into the car, my cell phone rings with a 203 number which I figured was the restaurant so I pick up and say hello and asian man says it's J Fuji and bring back the food and he'll give money back but there's no problem with the food and the food is good and the sushi is $20 a pound for the tuna, it's the best tuna...continues on screaming on the phone. I get there and that's when I discover that the messenger was a young man but there's Chief Fuji behind the counter calling me over...he immediately resumes with the yelling, shows me the wrapped tuna and again says it's fresh and is $20/lb and there's nothing wrong with food. He looks at sushi and won't refund, again I explained we all tried it and couldnt finish it because it didnt taste right-i didn't say it was the tuna as the roll comprises of a few different fish and again, reminds me that the tuna he uses costs $20/lb...could something may be off with another fish? The wrap? Wasabi wasn't camouflaging the taste either. He then screams that he is going to call police and I should never come there again. I ask him why is he screaming and what is the need to call the police but if he feels he needs to, go right ahead...I remind him that I am not yelling nor cursing and that I am the one being mistreated. He gets cash out of the register, will not give it to me and gives it to the girl at the counter to give to me and has her mark up the receipt. She seems very confused since he is not speaking in full sentences and then passes her the money to give to me for the chicken dish.
There was no need for him to explode like that. How about the approach of sorry that the meal wasnt to your liking, is there something else we can offer? But to scream and yell and carry on and say you are going to call the police is a little much...why because I have a little tinge of color to me? The approach was really alarming and I will Never again step foot into this place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 29, 2020Previous reviewUPDATE:
Honestly, I need to update review from 2 to 4 stars as I find myself ordering from here frequently and it's delicious.
Come prepared to wait but know that you'll be getting great food and super fresh sushi!! Nice staff but you do wait.
Old review:
Came here New Year's Eve based on friends' recommendation. Service is god awful and sadly Food is delicious. Service is a 0 and food is a 4.5...probably the best Szechuan dumplings I have ever had! I arrived here with hubby at 6:20 and there was only one other table seated that was wrapping up on their bill. Ordered Szechuan dumplings, a dragon roll, generals chicken, chicken and eggplant in garlic sauce and chow fun. Dumplings came out in 15 minutes and sushi man made sushi and left on counter. Our waitress must have walked by it about 8 times then disappeared for quite some time. Clearly, we looked around as tho we needed something and gentlemen at counter paid no mind to us. Another party of 2 had walked in and ordered. After about 30 minutes of sushi sitting on counter, I got up and asked what the roll was and indeed it was mine so I told guy I was taking it. It was delicious-fresh tasting and great combination. The other table saw their food on the counter as well and starred at me, as I got up to go get more ginger and wasabi since again waitress had vanished. Sushi guy apologized and said he would bring us ginger. At 7:30, we still had not received our food so I called over sushi guy and asked to cancel order and to give us check. He then went on to exclaim that they were hit with so many pick up orders and they were working on those-what??? What about taking care of the people there??? There were only 2 in my party and 2 in other party on NYE!!!
Paid for bill and sadly I could not leave a tip-honestly, they should have given us the dumplings after sitting for 70 minutes!
New Year's Day, we were still hankering for Chinese food so glutton got punishment, I called it in and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes! It was ready in 45 minutes-was the food good, hell yeah but be prepared to wait...if you are hungry, don't bother! Very bummed by this as the place is clean and good but they do not look like they can handle large parties. I encourage to solely do take out!Jan 8, 2020Previous reviewCame here New Year's Eve based on friends' recommendation. Service is god awful and sadly Food is delicious. Always the best friendly service. My favorite is the Thai curry chicken and their beef negimaki.

I called in my order 10 minutes before to give them time since they don't have any help. It's a husband and wife team- very nice owners. My favorite place to get the curry dish.
Feb 6, 2018Previous reviewI've been eating here for years. A small restaurant owned by hard working and super nice family. Loved everything I ordered here. Hot and sour soup, beef negimaki, teriyaki dinner, udon stir fry and love their curry chicken-- my favorite, just the right amount of spice. Price is fair.. sushi is fresh and one of the best., rolls are excellent!! I'd be here every week if lived close enough. Love this place.

NEVER AGAIN!!!! Just overpaid for $77 worth of food for 3 of us. It ended up in the Garbage!! Woof! The soup was terrible, the Shrimp and Chicken entrees were not edible.

I haven't been in ages and it's still really good sushi! 2 hand rolls and sashimi (yellowtail, salmon, toro) for $50.

Visiting from out of town and was happy to find this hidden gem. Spider and Shrimp Tempura rolls were fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend.

The place has gone down hill in every dining aspect. Had been going here for years Haven't been back in a while. Last night ordered food for pick up. Price was high, food was mediocre. Called to make them aware of our disappointment, said would look into and get to me. Never received a return call.

Small little shop in the corner of a strip mall. I was pleasantly surprised How the sushi was so fresh and delicious. The udon was ok or else I would have given this spot 5 stars for the sushi and rock shrimp alone. Definitely will be back to try more items on the menu

The inside of the restaurant was a little out of date. I understand and take into consideration how hard things have been for restaurants. Our waitress was Pleasant, attentive, and respectful. The food was very good, and the sushi was by far the BEST I have found!!! Just the taste of the tuna and salmon in the rolls I had was fresh and delicious!!! I plan on going back again and again.
This place is a diamond in the rough.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
