J D's Country Style Chicken

Priced right for the chicken sandwiches. Iced tea was on point - very strong! Fries tasted like they are fried in the same oil as the chicken and were just OK. Family style atmosphere and popular with the locals.

We had the 2 piece fried chicken meal with mashed potatoes and gravy. Large pieces of chicken that were delicious at a reasonable cost. We will definitely be back.

Great food at reasonable prices. I have enjoyed every item ordered. Nice and friendly waitstaff, and good wait time.

Someone needs to explain why,if they are open until nine, they lock their doors at 8:15!!! If you are not open then be honest! You are not. My guess is that all the staff had dates on Saturday do they just decided to close! What crappy customer service!!! Guessing, now that KFC is closed, they can get away with this s - - t!!

Well what can you say, homestyle chicken straight off Hays Main Street. Sweet potato fries taste like a walk through the sunflower fields on a warm July evening. Greeted by the good ol' boys and their homely kin. If you want average, you found it.

Excellent food! If you want some old-fashioned cooking, this is the place. You can't beat the prices either.

Best fried chicken I've had in a while. Parking lot full at lunch. That's always a good sign.

JD's has really good chicken! Simple, straightforward, fried chicken like I remember my mother and grandmother making. It's not KFC, and that's a good thing. Service was FAST and friendly. The only thing keeping this from being a five star rating is that the green beans were only lukewarm.

Went in for dinner tonight at 830 pm there were several people eating there. Sat at a table for 12 minutes never seen one server. So I walked back out the door. I know it was close to closing time but come on people.

The only place to stop in Kansas... don't understand why this place has such a low number of stars. And who orders a salad at a chicken restaurant!? Karen B.
