Two thoughts, one this shop is the heart of Melrose. I have, gladfully, spent a small fortune on prints, paintings and what have you over the years. To see the art of Deb Corbett, Br. Ed Rice, and so many more.

The service is on a whole other level. The people are simply smashing.

And now I read, tell me I am incorrect, that the shop is closing! I sure hope I am incorrect. But if correct skamper in and grab some great stuff while you can.

This is the place to shop for unique gifts. When I was in the store, I was complaining to my friend about how dry my skin had become since turning on the heat, Laurie overheard us and suggested the Argan Oil. She told me to mix a couple droplets with my moisturizer in the morning to better hydrate my skin. This stuff is a game-changer! My skin has never felt so great!

Lovely little shop with beautiful and unique items from both local and international artists. It's not big in size, but you could get lost admiring all of their beautiful items - from gorgeous paintings, to scented candles to handmade jewelry - they've got something for everyone in terms of style and price point!

This is an awesome place to have on Main Street in Melrose. The ladies that work there are super nice and always very friendly. There is on street parking as well as a lot in the back. They have really cute stuff all made by local artist from the area. They have everything from candles, jewelry, art for walls, soaps, some clothing, gongs, socks and an awesome greeting card selection. Prices are reasonable and they will pack everything up nice for you. Definitely a small shop worth supporting.

My wife and I love going here. We have bought many gifts here and quite a few pieces for our house. Pricey? I have no idea. To me all art varies from downright bargain to expensive. It's a personal experience. But it's locally owned and supports local artists, so its always on our list when we are looking for something. They have a variety of items ranging in price from inexpensive to expensive. The art changes regularly so its worth putting on your rotation.

We probably have five or six pieces from there and enjoy them all.

It's a great place to visit before/after a lunch/dinner at one of the fabulous restaurants in town.

It's retail, so it costs nothing to go in the store and give it a try. IMHO, well worth the visit.

I absolutely love this shop as it's the perfect place for unique gifts for any occasion. Both the owner and staff are knowledgeable about all of it the items, especially about the artists who create many of the items for sale in the store. It's a definite drop-in the next time you're in downtown Melrose - even if you don't purchase something (which I would be surprised about!), it's a great place to browse.

Hourglass is a great store. Its a great place to go to buy some gorgeous and unique as a Mother's Day gift. Or to pick up some fancy hand cream. Or to get a new blown glass vase. Or to treat yourself to a beautiful new painting.

Laurie, the owner, is always welcoming, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Its a great place to stop in to shop, or to just look around.

This is a really cute gift gallery. They have a ton of options for birthday, housewarming, graduation, etc gifts. I stopped in a few weeks ago to check it out, and ending up buying a really cute pair of Swavorski crystal earrings. For $7.99!!!!!!!!! What a bargain.

However, a lot of their items are pretty expensive, moreso than what it seems it should be. They seem to very well made, and they're nice, but quite pricey. And their hours during the week don't seem convenient AT ALL.

I have bought and received gifts from Hourglass and
have not been disappointed. Lovely sales people and so many beautiful things to choose from.

Pricey, but some really good artwork and glass work. Always new stuff and some interesting finds.

They have jewelry and some knicknacks as well.
