About the Business
Hot Pot 757 is glorious hands-on all-you-can-eat dining experience that merges traditional Chinese hot pot and Korean BBQ flavors. Hot Pot is a popular Chinese dish introduced thousands of years ago by the Mongolian Empire that has three components: broth, dipping ingredients and sauces. It is an interactive meal in which diners sit around a simmering pot of flavorful broth traditionally served inside a large metal pot. The broth is brought to a boil and left simmering for the duration of the meal. Raw ingredients, such as meat and vegetables, are placed into the simmering broth and thus “cooked”. The cooked pieces are dipped into dipping sauces for additional flavor. Typical hot pot ingredients include thinly sliced meat, leaf vegetables, mushrooms, sliced potatoes, bean products, egg dumplings, tofu, seafood and starch. Raw ingredients are pre-sliced into thin sections that will cook quickly and consistently in the simmering broth. Korean Barbecue is the Korean style of grilling thin slices of meat like beef, pork, chicken and veggie over a charcoal or gas grill. The grill is often in-built into the dining table with a grill mesh or portable tabletop stove with a grilling pan. The meat dishes are served raw, and the customers have to grill it themselves before they can feast! The meat of Korean BBQ may or may not be marinated. There are numerous ways to enjoy a Korean barbecue.

Last time I went they were not taking reservations and it was a 1 hour wait. They said they were going to start taking them soon but I'm not sure if they have started or not.

The setting of the restaurant was very nice! The food was amazing as well. I had the Japanese miso broth and added beef brisket, bok choy, shrimp, and etc. The broth was very well seasoned and I also added a sauce to the broth that they provide at the buffet bar. The buffet bar has all types of sauces, veggies top compliment your broth. They also had salad, fruit, and crab legs and crawfish to added to your hotpot as well. This was my first time here and the waiter was very nice in informing my part how to order everything and was very patient in answering all of our questions. Once our order was put in they were always bringing out our toppings super fast. Definitely going back when I'm in town.

Apparently, they're actually closed now and will not be reopening like we were originally told. I'm curious to see what they will be re-opening as.

The Chimney Hill location is Ok, but not my fave. It has more options at the cold bar, plus a desert bar, but there's no alcohol (only soju).Jan 8, 2024Previous reviewI REALLY wanted to keep this location to myself, but they truly deserve ALL of the business. This is our ABSOLUTE favorite K-BBQ & Hot Pot restaurant we've tried in the area. ALL of the staff is super friendly, the manager used to greet every table, but I haven't seen her in a while. Thomas was the first server we had when we visited. He's always very kind and makes a really good dipping sauce mix. Niyah is also amazing and makes some REALLY good drinks. The space is dimly lit and there's PLENTY of table space. Their buffet bar is super small compared to other's I've seen, but the quality of the veggies and meats are unmatched so far. The buffet bar typically has kimchi, seaweed salad, fruit like pineapple or muscadine grapes, and crawfish or snow crab legs. My one and only gripe is they need the new non-stick grills. A lot of their meats have a sugary marinade and they stick easily. No matter how much oil and non-stick I use, I end up needing a new grill. It's not not a huge problem, because they're always ready to swap it out for you. I love it here and highly recommend you try them. See my review vid below!
Our faves on the BBQ:
-short ribs
-spicy chicken bulgogi (Not very spicy in our opinion),
-Garlic Shrimp
-Pineapple
HotPot
Chinese Herbal Soup Base
Beef Butter Soup Base
Spicy Szechuan Soup Base
Broccoli
Sweet Potato
Bok Choy
-Pork Dumplings
If you like a sweet & spicy herby sauce, try mixing these:
4 spoon Sweet Chili Sauce
1 tbsp oyster
1/2 - 1 spoon soy sauce
2 tbsp teriyaki
Chopped cilantro
chopped green onion
1 spoon garlic & herb paste
sesame seeds
1-2 tbsp hot chili paste
1/2 tbsp sesame paste
1 spoon chili oil

Since my boyfriend had yet to try Korean BBQ, we decided to head to Hot Pot 757 & Korean BBQ Hilltop. We were greeted by the host as soon as we walked and were asked if we were the ones that called in for reservations. We hadn't made reservations but that let me know that they take reservations for future visits, just FYI.
Once we were seated, our waiter, David, came right over to us and explained the menu. He also told us about the sauce & salad bar and even mentioned that they had crab legs for a limited time. We decided on the BBQ option and put in our orders. I started with the calamari, pork loin and spicy beef bulgogi and he ordered the New York strip, spicy chicken bulgogi and salmon. After we placed our meat order, we headed to the sauce & salad bar. The sauce bar included soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, and chili oil, just to name a few and I added a little of everything to make my sauce lol. I grabbed some kimchi and definitely some crab legs from the salad bar before heading back to the table.
As soon as the meats came out, we placed them on the grill. We chose white rice to eat with the meats and after a few minutes, everything was ready to eat. We also put in an order of short ribs and garlic shrimp as well. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed the short ribs while I enjoyed the calamari, salmon and spicy beef bulgogi but everything was delicious.
Overall, we left overly full yet extremely satisfied. David was absolutely amazing and my boyfriend said it was one of the best experiences he's ever had. We will be returning very soon, I'm sure lol.Helpful 6Thanks 1Love this 7Oh no 0 - Mar 27, 2023Updated review
Their 3rd newest location locally. This particular location is similar to their Chesapeake location. It's large & spacious. Plenty of seating & side rooms. They have quite the ventilation system for the steam. If you don't want wind blowing on you full force, don't sit in the booth next to the salad bar. It gets cold & a bit windy. I can see it being beneficial when the restaurant is at full capacity or during the summer. But with this location just opening that week & during lunch it wasn't as packed.
We could have requested a different table but, we were able to manage. Not a huge deal, but just an fyi.
In the price, it's an all you can eat hotpot place that includes the salad bar that consists of fruits & veggies/kimchi, salad etc & a large variety of sauces.
I like that they have a sign above the salad bar with a recommendation of sauce combinations if you feel overwhelmed or indecisive or just want to try something new.
I enjoy this location & the Chesapeake location, they have personal burners with its own controls on the bottom so you know that you're controlling your own pot & not accidentally someone else's.
You can choose either hotpot which involves choosing a broth from the menu , then placing your order of your choice of veggies, meats, seafood, etc. OR you can do just BBQ & you just choose your meats & veggies from the list towards the back of the menu under "BBQ" & you cook it on the grill in the middle of the table or you can pay more & do a combination of both BBQ & Hotpot.
The portions at the Chesapeake & this location are individual portions, so you don't have to coordinate with each other regarding what was already ordered. The only items that come in baskets are the leafy veggies like spinach & bok choy.
You cook your own food in the pot which doesn't take long at all. Veggies of course take less time, so you might want to throw those in last. Make sure not to leave your food in the pot too long, or else it ends up over cooked.
Our server checked on us several times to put in more orders. He was friendly & efficient.
* Whether you're a tourist or a local, it's a good spot for large groups. If you're trying to get away from the beach/touristy area this is a good spot to dine that's easily accessible & a short driving distance from the oceanfront.
* It's a great option before catching a show at Elevation 27 which is just a walk across the street & you don't want to eat fast food or eat at the music venue.

Absolutely love this place! I've been to this location about four times and this is by far my favorite. The establishment is clean and the food is fresh. My favorite hot pot broth to get is the butter beef.
The last time I went they even offered crab legs with the meal. The waiters are always attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I will definitely recommend!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Jonesha,

I don't know what happened but one of the burners was not functioning and the manager and her staff were outstanding! They took care of us and moved us to a different table after attempting to fix the burner. They quickly replenished the meats, vegetables, and seafood for the hotpot and for the barbecue. They checked on us to refresh our drinks and food. The waitress and all the staff were phenomenal in making things right, so a huge thanks to the staff and manager for taking such good care of us!! The food was delicious and filling, piping hot! So be careful!! The passion fruit iced green tea was refreshing! The fare was fresh, flavorful, and a LOT, so you felt very satisfied! Great staff and great food! Highly recommend!!

We had a big event here for a group of almost 60 people. Diane and her crew couldn't have done a better job. They were absolutely the most helpful and wonderful staff to work with. We were able to get big tables of 10 and this allowed our guests to feel like they could chat to lots of different people rather than being at a table of 4. The experience was so fun for our guests and when they weren't sure what to order, the staff jumped right in and was always attentive to our needs.
We called 15 places in Virginia Beach to find somewhere within our budget for this event and I couldn't be happier that we landed at Hot Pot 757! Can not recommend enough!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

We came here tonight for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint!!! This is the newly opened location in the area. The staff was quick to greet and seat us. The restaurant was very clean and spacious. We had hot pot and Korean BBQ. The broth for the hot pot was spicy and flavorful. I had several sauces from the bar to use a dips. My favorite grilled item was the garlic shrimp and the beef bulgogi. Also grilled some pineapple to use on my lettuce wraps. The meat and the veggies were fresh. We had a lot of food for the price and we were all pretty full when we let. Definitely recommend!!!!
