Loved this place, was my go to for more than 40 years, since it was just a stand, but sadly it is now permanently closed.

The service was fast. It was drive thru only though. I was disappointed about that as these are messy hotdogs and I did not want to eat it in my car. I made it work though. Not as spicy as I thought it would be but still very good. I definitely liked the meat sauce.

I'll premise this review with my bias--I'm a big fan of greasy spoons. And Hot Dog heaven surely fits the greasy spoon mold. The restaurant has an early 90s-'esque aesthetic, probably because it hasn't changed much since then. And I dig it. There are plenty of booths and tables, plus counter seating. The menu includes hot dogs, of course, but many other sandwiches, soups, and dinners, plus a full all-day breakfast menu.
We stopped in for dinner, me, the hubbs, and our son. We shared the combo dinners, one two-hot dog and one two-hamburger meal. Both were under $10. Each comes with fries, baked beans and macaroni salad. We had the dogs char-grilled, and asked that the burgers and dogs be topped with the works, including their famous hot dog sauce on everything.
The food was pretty good! The meat itself was decent. Definitely not prime cuts of meat, but tasty for their quality level. The buns were mediocre, I would suggest a bit of an upgrade there. The macaroni salad and baked beans were okay. I liked the macaroni salad flavor, but the beans could use more brown sugar IMHO. The fries were hot and crispy. They're a thinner-cut fry here.
The real star of the show for me was definitely the famous hot dog sauce--really hearty with fantastic flavor! I tasted hints of cinnamon, garlic, and some other smokey, maybe even fruity notes I couldn't quite put my taste buds on. It was a unique, curious taste, just splendid! Next time I'll definitely go with just dogs, since they can carry more of that special sauce than a hamburger can, haha.
We also shared a piece of the triple-chocolate cream pie. It tasted like a homemade version of Burger King's Sundae Pie. And I mean that as a compliment. I could have eaten a whole pie on my own; a pie and a fork was all I needed! :-)
Regarding the service, there was one waitress on staff that night. The busiest it got was three tables. She was a sweet waitress, friendly and full of "hun's", which I love. But she was distracted by her cell phone. We had to remind her to bring a few things, and refills were slow. I guess I expect this caliber of service from a dive with cheap prices, a mix of sweet and absentminded. She was a quintessential Ursula. ;-) It didn't bother me much, but something to mention if that's not your cup of tea.
Our total bill with a couple sodas plus our shared pie slice was just over $27. Not a bad deal for three people! Overall, we enjoyed Hot Dog Heaven. It is an authentic greasy spoon with all the charm and shortcomings you'd expect from a restaurant in this category. Keep your expectations reasonable, just like the very reasonable prices here, and chances are you'll like Hot Dog Heaven too.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - JP V.Buffalo, NY11142Aug 28, 2022
I had hopes driving past this place and seeing signs for a classic Texas Red Hot, but they were crushed as soon as I pulled in. The exterior of the whole building, drive thru and parking lot are in shambles. There is no easy to read sign letting you know that drive thru is still the only option, and felt like I was at Tim Hortons on a Saturday morning even though I was the only one. When I received my food and pulled into a parking spot to eat (where else?) I pulled out a soggy ball of paper soaked in soupy Red Hot sauce. More sauce was on the paper than the hot dog, and the other toppings... non existent. The sauce was a weird light brown color and tasted just as off as the place seemed. The hotdog was obviously boiled and one of the worst Sahlen's I've ever had. The only thing to save this was the burning hot fries.
I got weird vibes when I pulled in, shoulda listened to myself.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brianna W.Buffalo, NY72136322Jun 2, 2021
Hot dog heaven has been a place that I've been going for years. Today my grandma and I decided to have a quick lunch. When we pulled up we saw signs for drive through only which is okay just something to be aware of it you're looking for more of a sit down restaurant, at least right now during COVID.
We got the #1 value meal. It comes with Two hot dogs anyway, fries and a drink. The hot dog was pretty good just on the smaller side, I wish it was more charred too. The fries were delicious and perfect and they have loganberry so of course we got that for our drink!
On their menu they also have souvlakia, pies, and breakfast food items. Come for a quick lunch or sit and stay and small talk with you friends over some coffee!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ben W.Buffalo, NY2864Feb 10, 2023
I don't know who wouldn't love Hot Dog heaven. My mom took me here all the time as a kid to sit in and eat and everyone was always so nice and friendly, the prices were great, and the food was always great. Me and my mom just went today and got 6 cheese dogs with all the fixings (cheese, chili sauce, mustard and onion) and they are still the best chili cheese dogs around. Hot Dog heaven deserves more business if you ask me, there's nothing bad about the place it's an honest to goodness diner with kick ass chili dogs. Their milkshakes are great too! Some might say the place is outdated but to me, it brings back memories of a simpler time in the world and I love the vibe of the place. I'll always be a fan of Hot Dog heaven.

Went yesterday for the first time after passing it a million times over the years. I got the number 3 value meal which includes a burger fries and a drink. Roughly $8 is a great price for what's included. All the food was fresh as can be and took about 5 minutes to get. Currently they run only drive through which is no problem for me personally, but to some might come as a surprise. To me, the value is great, food is good, and service was fantastic. The only critique is I wish they were open over night seeing as Texas Hots has closed permanently not to far away and I feel they could be the new spot everyone goes to for a late night meal.

My first time ever having their food and will definitely be my last!!! I had a Texas Hot with a simple Onion, Mustard, Chili Sauce & fries. The sauce was super tan, and tasted like it had lot of curry powder - imagine, a liquified Jamaican beef patty. They forgot to add more than 3 onion squares, and to make matters worse it was a boiled hot dog that they added to a flat top for 3 seconds and was no where near done. Waste of money. Best thing I ate was the fries. How are they still open??

Figured it was Friday 3pm thought I would give this place a 2nd chance since I was in the area ....
and my first time was not good !!!
Anyways went in with magazine to read while getting a little lunch , I grabbed booth , sat down ... flicked through some pages , 5 minutes goes by , still sitting , nobody yet ! 10 minutes goes by nobody yet , 4 tables with people , not busy ... waitress appears to be setting up tables but texting and playing on cell phone , 2 tables away from me , not even acknowledging me ... waited another 3 minutes , got up and put jacket on ... Walked out , another waitress at other end by exit door says to me have a nice day ... Not knowing I was there about 15 minutes with absolutely no service ... I reluctantly said to her , I was here for quite awhile WHERE'S THE SERVICE ? She looks back at the girl in my station , 2 tables away from where I was , her back still toward us , texting and playing with cell phone !!! oblivious to anything happening except her cell phone !!!
Place has nice look , modern inside for hot dog joint ... but for me it is a joke , help is terrible , pay a little more money for your help , might get some older caring waitresses !!! It's no wonder place is always empty !!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 17, 2013Previous reviewHate to say this but it sucked !!! On 11/17/13 I was there for breakfast and there were BLACK FLIES CIRCLING MY BREAKFAST !!! I was not happy , mentioned this to waitress , and said I will lose my job if I don,t charge you .... I walked out and will never be back !!! Larry B
