Located in Lake Oswego in a parking lot with a dry cleaner, lack of curb appeal can be deceiving. Inside, there is a large space with very large U-shaped bar in the front. There are seats along the perimeter with several tables towards the back. There is also a heated outdoor area. Two single unisex bathrooms are centrally located. Plenty of room to meet up with friends or family. They may be more focused on adult drinks, but kids are definitely welcomed!
There is a huge list of drinks on tap, mostly beer, but they also have a nice selection of wine and mixed drinks. Margheritas looked good (but pre-made and in the fridge). Many of the beers are locally brewed and a nice mix of types from ales to lagers to stouts/porters. At least 10-15 on tap. They have growlers too.
There is a large food menu with a variety of options, including some kids' choices (hot dog!). There is a banh mi sandwich, meat plate (good kahlua pork), and burgers. The gyro was pretty good - I guess is a fan favorite. I found the gyro meat to be a little too crispy/overcooked and tasted more like crispy bacon. Different than the long strips of lamb you may get at a gyro place. Side of mac salad was good. Can also get chips instead.
Definitely would go back for some drinks. Food would be a bonus.
Plenty of parking.
Staff were friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 9, 2023
As usual, the food was delicious, and I love that I can almost always grab an outdoor picnic table on a nice September Saturday evening so that I can bring my dog along with me.
But while we got our food and drinks quickly, which is always much appreciated, when it came time to leave, our server was MIA and only reappeared right before we were about to send out a search party.
I'm sure it probably just got busy inside the restaurant. But keep that in mind if you're ever here on a busy night and in a hurry, and go ahead and ask for your check in advance at the same time that you get your food. ;)
All in all, HnC is still one of our more favorite secret spots to pop into whenever we're craving a quick bite and wanting to try a new cold brew on draft.Helpful 8Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 0 - Andrew S.Wilsonville, OR251Mar 1, 2024
Great place to grab a quick drink or two! Friendly bartenders and good food, always a good time.

Service is ok. Food is alright. I had a BBQ brisket sandwich. It filled me up. It can be very loud on a Friday night. Seating arrangement needs some work other than just a bunch of tables and chairs thrown out on the floor. I don't know - maybe it felt that way because it was crowded and loud the Friday night I was there. Ambience /atmosphere could be improved but what do you do - it's a brew pub. I'd go back.

Hidden sanctuary in Lake Oswego! The back patio wasn't amazing but it was definitely a decent place to have a snack and sit in the sun. I was impressed with the menu. Lots of Hawaiian braised meats, and their Mac salad and coleslaw was incredible! Service was a little bit slow but no big deal. I will definitely be back. What can we do?

Visited last month. I sure do feel terrible rating this place 2 stars. My review is long but there were so many damn problems.
First impression? You walk in the door and the entire entryway is crowded with boxes, sandwich signs, empty kegs, and a... stainless steel table? The layout of the place is just not right at all. Behind the bar is so friggin huge...I don't get it.
Aside from the disturbing feng shui, the biggest travesty of Hop N Cork is that the ideas on their menu are clearly interesting and creative. The issue is that I'm not sure the same person who came up with the ideas is the same person prepping and cooking them. Or if it is the same person, there is a dissonance between their ideas and ability to execute them.
The chalkboard boasted "Special Buffalo Sauce: Roasted Garlic". We try the regular wings with a side of the roasted garlic sauce because instinct tells me not to trust it. The sauce on the wings was right out of a bottle and the "roasted garlic" buffalo was this thin cheap-tasting sauce (likely also from a bottle) with weird chunks of roasted garlic floating in it- and it was cold! The wings were tough, tiny, and overcooked. Only ate one of them.
The chicken banh mi sounded okay, but arrived with hot chicken (also tough and overcooked) in the sandwich on top of giant pieces of cold cucumber; hot cucumber isn't a favorite of mine, personally. The bread it came on was so tough I could barely even bite it.
The club sandwich was fine I guess, but the bacon was so tough I could barely bite it. All the meats in our dishes were way overcooked.
The service? They were all very very interested in talking and flirting with one another and very not interested in helping customers. We had to summon someone for literally every thing that happened: no one talked to us when we sat down at the bar, so I asked for a menu, but then no one came back; had to ask for a drink, had to ask to order, had to ask for water, had to ask for a second beer etc etc etc. I should've just jumped back into that huge bar and did everything myself cuz it was like pulling teeth interrupting the employees from their incessant socializing.
Someone obviously put a lot of money into this place and their website, but they might want to take a real good look at the operations and the actual experience the customers are having. Not at all interested in going back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - 622683776Mar 10, 2022
Rave reviews about the food and Beer here.
If you love Pubs and Pub food, and you are Caucasian, or with one, this might be the place for you.
This is not a microbrew, but carries a vast array of IPA beers.
The BBQ is amazing!
We had the Beef Brisket BBQ Bento bowl and the Kalua Pork BBQ Bento Bowl.
The Bento Bowls here are just the right size to fill you up and still leave room for a few beers.
We also had the Smoked Brussel Sprouts with bacon and Balsamic (these were kinda brown and on the burnt side)
This place opens at 4pm. We arrived about 4:30pm and there were already a few customers.
At the door, there's a sign that says you must wait to be seated. The wait was only a few minutes.
The guy I was with asked for a table for two.
The staff member invited us in, and suggested that we could sit out back on their patio.
My guy declined, asking to sit inside.
The staff member then offered us the closest table to the bathroom door.
My guy then said that he did not want a table near the bathroom.
The staff member then offered us a table next to the storage closet.
Note, there were only a few customers at this point.
Also note that all the other customers were Caucasian, and we were not.
Although the food was good, I did not like the "table at the back of the bus treatment" for non-whites.
You decide...
P.S. We've been to other Pubs and BBQs in this town, and this place is the only one that offered us "table at the back of the bus treatment"Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Clémence T.Alameda, CA011Jan 21, 2024
Got this Brownie bowl to go and what a disappointment. Fresh baked cookie? Where? Brownie? Where? The chunky parts were so hard. Definitely won't be ordering again.

Don't sleep on this place! Met a few friends here on a weeknight about 4:30 and the place was great. Very friendly and welcoming staff and the food was amazing...tried the soft pretzel and cheese sauce and between the table had the Cuban Sandwich and Blue Cheese and Bacon Salad. All was great as were the drinks...I recommend a margarita myself as I am not a beer or wine person.

Good food, nice spot for a dinner and a beer. I find it a bit loud overall but it's close to home. Never had a bad experience here, servers are always attentive.
