This is a very cozy hotel that I stayed in.
The rooms are clean, the bathrooms have body lotion and conditioner on top of the usual soap and shampoo and body wash.
The breakfast is free and also good, offering different types of sausages, eggs, danishes, juices, coffees, pancakes, cereal, etc. There is only one elevator, but it is relatively large.
Overall, this is a nice cozy hotel.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liz H.Raleigh, NC56183Nov 24, 2023
We had a great stay here over Thanksgiving. Everyone at the front desk was super nice. Breakfast and coffee are out each morning, my son loved the pancake machine. They have a nice fire going in the lobby daily which is so cozy! Our room was on the first floor. We had zero issues with hearing others. I wiped the room down with Lysol wipes upon arriving. Every single wipe was clean so our room was def clean. We had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, I wanted to take it home!!!! The pillows were amazing as well. We had a microwave, refrigerator, desk, couch, big tv, hair dryer, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The only downfall was there isn't a hand towel bar or an air vent in the bathroom. You have to leave the bathroom door open when showering or it gets super hot and steamy. Due to this the bathroom ceiling appears to have had mold that was painted over and now the mold appeared to be coming back. There also isn't a closet door I had to hang my clothes in the bathroom on the towel bar. We didn't swim in the indoor pool but it was open. Tiny pool but that's expected. We would stay again.

This is a very nice hotel, especially for an area without many hotel options. We stayed in a room with a hot tub that worked well and was easy to use once I realized the whirlpool dial was on the wall across from the tub. It was a pity I was already wet and had to get out of the bath to start them up. I recommend putting up a small sign next to the dial so others don't get confused. Otherwise, we had a lot of room and once we turned on the A/C, the noise in the hall wasn't an issue. We would stay here again.

My past review still pretty much applies. I will say that they have changed the serving containers in the breakfast area, so the past problem with the lids being upside down has been solved. Much better system now. Exercise machines still broken, same overpowering scent in the lobby and throughout the hotel. The past 2 times we have stayed, they gave us the same room. The shower had some mold the first time, more mold the second time.

This Holiday Inn seems to be the best bet for lodging in the West Jeff area. We have, with the exception of a little mold in the shower, found the rooms to be clean, comfortable, and quiet. The view of the mountains is lovely, and the location is very convenient.
That being said, there are a few improvements that could be made. The equipment in the exercise room desperately needs repair/replacement. The machines do not function properly and the features such as incline, programmed workouts, and heart monitoring don't work. The refrigerators in the rooms do not always work. The breakfast offerings are okay, but all pretty much processed/high carb. It would be nice to have a choice of yogurt without added sugar. They also always put the covers on the hot food upside down.....we can only speculate that it is because the shape of the lid dips down in the center when placed properly, reducing the amount of food they can put in the bins. Having them handle-side-down, however, makes the covers flat on top and hard for guests to remove. It is really hard to try to remove the handle-less hot lid with one hand while trying to use tongs with the other hand. Because there are no accessible handles to lift the lids, it necessitates that the guests have to lift the lids by putting their fingers on the lid's sides and corners.....where fingers touch the bottom side of the lids and could potentially contaminate the food inside. Yuk. You can tell that the lids are upside down because the "Rubbermaid" branding and the grab holds can be seen through the clear plastic.
The lobby looks lovely, but the "signature scent" that is being pumped into the public spaces....it is overpowering and we hate it. Hubby and I are very sensitive to strong scents, and having this unnecessary scent assault us every time we enter the lobby, try to eat breakfast, or try to relax by the lobby fireplace really ruins the experience. It is incredibly strong in the stairwells as well. We must take refuge in our room to escape the scent. We talked with management about this, but were told that the scent was a "corporate decision" and they could do nothing about it.
Cell service is poor in this area, so Wifi is pretty important. We have had mixed success with the Wifi at this Holiday Inn. The codes that we are given at the desk at check in do not always work and the connection is not always good. Hubby tried to use the ethernet cord this past time without any luck at all.
We have found that the front desk staff has always been very friendly, helpful, and efficient. We have never had a problem with check in or check out. - John M.Greensboro, NC055Jan 14, 2022
If you like stepping back in time to the 1970s/1980s this hotel is for you. The place needs modernizing in a bad way in every aspect.

We had stayed at this location(it was the Hampton then) on our last visit to Jefferson, maybe a couple years ago at most, and really liked it.
For the most part it is still really nice. The rooms are spacious and furniture still in good shape and it doesn't look or feel dingy like some can feel as they get older. They have complimentary hot breakfast and free wifi. They were accomodating enough to put a fridge in our room, which was a necessity, since I was breast feeding my infant and needed a place to store my reserves, at no extra charge.
I was disappointed at a couple things that caused the 4 star review. For the amount spent ( almosy 250 for two nights) our shower stall had really bad ( very noticeable at first glance) mold going on. The floor mat/towel in the bathroom had red stains on it. There was also not an even set of towels for my husband and I.
All little things. Overall I would still recommend it. May have just been a bad luck trip for us. Last time we were very pleased with no complaints.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amy T.Seattle, WA42116Jun 25, 2019
We had a great one night stay at this hotel! The staff was helpful and our room was great. The entire hotel is modern and sleek and extremely clean. They offer a wide array of foods for breakfast including hot foods like eggs (two days), two types of sausages, pancakes, oatmeal, and biscuits and gravy as well as cold items like an assortment of yogurts, fresh fruits, and danishes. The view is amazing as well!!

This is a lovely holiday inn express in a small mountain town. All the basics including breakfast. Booked at a group rate months ago and then before we arrived the price skyrocketed. I got a modest discount but nothing like what's advertised in Expedia or Travelocity.
The hotel is ok but nothing to justify those prices.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 8, 2012First to Review
Clean, comfortable room with king size bed. We requested a room with a hot tub, and it came with a handicap bathroom (nice and big) and a refrigerator. View from the front of the hotel was very nice! Front desk and breakfast staff were also very nice!
We were a little bit surprised that our room wasn't cleaned after our first of two nights there. We had to ask at the front desk for more towels and bathroom supplies, which they were generous with. Also, the public hot tub could've been a little hotter, though that's probably a personal preference.
Overall, a good experience, with very reasonable mid-week rates (we used AAA too).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maranda Kaye S.Loris, SC0379Aug 23, 2016
One of the best hotels I've stayed in! Friendly staff, clean rooms, gorgeous view, short drive to Boone! The breakfast was excellent! I could go on and on about my experience here. I will definitely stay here again. Very impressed.
