I waited 35 minutes for my order, which was breakfast at 10:50. It was just pancakes, hash browns, eggs, and bacon. I asked about my order and was told "I don't cook the food". I wait until 11:25 when I received my food. However, I get home and see my three pancakes I ordered and was furious by what I received. The picture is shown below of what I received, I hadn't even touched the food and it wasn't shifted in transit, as I walked from this market to my dorm. Won't be back for awhile.

Great place if you need something 24 hours a day is a little pricier than most places but you're not gonna do your grocery shopping or you gonna go to get a quick snack and leave great service great service great service

Not vegetarian friendly at all. I've had red meat put in my burrito on 3 different occasions. It's NOT okay!!!

      First to Review

So, this review is long overdue but here it is.

I absolutely love highland market. First, it is like a miniature 7-11 right on campus. They have cereals, candy, lunch meat, produce, frozen foods, bread, softdrinks ect. Then they have a small cafe serving up coffee and tea. They even have a hot lunch line. I came in for lunch one time and ordered their pulled pork sandwich (a special of the day) which came with fries and a soft drink. It cost me $5.99 which is rather reasonable. The pulled pork was really great but those fries may have been previously frozen...still good though.

If you ever order something from here, it should definitely be their breakfast burrito. Now normally, I'm not a breakfast burrito guy. In fact, I detest them. But the ones here are so damn good. I woke up one Thursday morning with a hunger for something substantial. All of a sudden, my friend walked in the room. Apparently he bought me a highland burrito and I must say that it really hit the spot. The eggs were fluffy. They weren't stingy with the cheese. And they add jalapenos! That was one of the best meals I've had in Tucson...that and Sausage Deli.

In short: it is a nice little supermarket that fills the needs of the university, the lunch specials are great, BREAKFAST BURRITO!, the price is reasonable, if I'm ever back in Tucson, I'm definitely going to stop by and I recommend you do too.

P.S. the door to this place sucks

Food is actually good and better than most places on campus. Problem is with the service. I usually order for pick up on grub hub to avoid lines when I go to pick up my food at the window, there is usually a long wait, not from a line, but from no one acknowledging that someone is there to pick up food. Student workers are usually pretty good about it, but I recently waited 20 minutes outside after my order was ready. Rang bell 5 times and no one bothered to acknowledge that I was there. Even a "we're really busy, give us a minute to get your food" would have sufficed. Ending up leaving without getting my food as I had to go to class. They don't serve anything on weekends and are sold out of most things by 4 or 5 pm. If you go at the right time the experience won't be bad, but don't be shocked if you are greeted with an awful service experience.

I just paid $10 for a burrito that I could have gotten at Illegal Petes for 4.75, they wouldn't even take my order when I walked up to the counter (they just kept asking me if I was there for a Tapingo, which after I said no the first time they should have taken my order), and they were just rude. I don't know why everyone rants and raves about these burritos, they're literally basic potatoes and steak cut up so teeny tiny it's more like shredded beef. Stupid, this is why I never eat on campus.

The burritos were much smaller than expected and the lady at the checkout gave me a hard time about my mask which I was wearing properly.

This place promised 10 min wait and took over an hour. Terrible customer service. I can not comprehend what went through these people's mind. They were moving like sloths and had about 10 orders just sitting there. Took them about a minute and a half to package one thing up. I am beyond upset

The Highland MArket as changed my life as well as the life of Maddie aka m&m. We started ordering these burritos in september and have not stopped since. We have each gained approximately 20 pounds, which is the only bad thing about the highland burrito. One time they put meat in my vegetarian burrito, but I forgave them as they gave me another burrito for free. These staff members who craft the highland burrito deserve the world. Thank you highland market for giving maddie aka m&m and I the best meals of our lives every thursday night.

This place was a rite of passage for incoming classes. Greasy, cheap, filling, and delicious food after a night of house party hunting for those pre-21 nights. The home of the world famous highland burrito... at least through my bittersweet and nostalgic rose tinted glasses. Seems like full time management has moved in and removed the magic. Its no longer student operated....by students, for students... give me back my glory days. Not this mess..
