If you've never been here this is your sign to try it! It's in the heart of park ridge and honestly what an amazing Mexican restaurant! My husband and I discovered this a decade ago and we constantly come here to eat and celebrate our birthdays with some amazing Mexican food! We love getting their tortas and taco salad and on top of that the inside of this restaurant is beautiful we love it and everyone who works there is so sweet! Such a worthy place to check out!!!!

It is difficult to give a rating to this place because the marrachi band was so freaking LOUD that we could not even talk amongst our table. We had to point at the menu because the waiter could not hear us. Could'nt even ask about a dish, so you got it wheather you decided on it or not. Asked to move and there was nothing available. Another thing, when we were seated each place setting had a fork and a napkin. No knife, no fork, kinda hard to eat like that.
One patron got a decible rating of 85.6!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 6055200Aug 17, 2022
Decent food so so margaritas for us. Quality ingredients but flavors are not wow. Tacos, fried red snapper, guacamole or even premium margaritas ($15) all just okay.
I have try so much better than this. Place is clean and roomy service is excellent and food came out fast. Plenty of parking around the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tim M.Chicago, IL2610663Sep 6, 2023
The ambiance, food and service is always excellent when you stop in for a wonderful Mexican meal. Live music on some evenings make it all the more enjoyable. Whether you want a plain taco or burrito or a fancy dish both can be had here. Highly recommended.

What great Mexican food. Hay Caramba has a terrific outdoor patio offering great people-watching opportunities on a pleasant day at Park Ridge. I ordered the tacos de pescado, aka fish tacos, which consisted of three tacos. You had a choice of either salmon or tilapia, and I picked the tilapia. The tacos came with red cabbage, pico de gallo and chipotle sour cream. My server put the chipotle sour cream on the side, which is a perfect touch, as I usually ask for that stuff on the side. Fish was seasoned well, and the overall taco was delicious!
Meal came with complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was a "2" on a spicy scale of 5. Chips were room temperature needed some salt, which the server gladly provided. I sat outside so I didn't get a glimpse of what it looked like inside, but from the pictures on their website, it looks massive. As far as the outdoor patio, they have plenty of seating, some on the adjacent sidewalk, the other more in the inwards of the restaurant. I sat in the latter, which offered just the perfect amount of shade on this hot Park Ridge afternoon.
Hay Caramba also had margaritas that I regrettably did not try, but will definitely do so next time! Server was good, food was good, and overall experience was great.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Eric O.Chicago, IL1426825Jul 23, 2023
Me and my wife wanted a quick lunch this Saturday afternoon. We were seated quickly outside, and m immediately got chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were obviously not fresh, and tasted like grocery purchased chips and salsa. I ordered the bean tostadas and my wife ordered flautas. The food came out quickly, but my beans on my tostadas were cold. My wife's flautas were hot and tasted average. it's a very nice location and we enjoyed the scenery, but this is a one time event and we probably won't be back. Overall, the customer service is good, but the food quality and taste is average.

Salsa was ok, margarita had no flavor and Carne Sada was very thin and very salty and not medium like I asked for it. My husband had the Carne Sada tacos, he couldn't make it home fast enough before he started vomiting. We will never be going back.

This was our first time and we went with another couple on a Friday night. I emailed to see if they took reservations and they responded that only for 6 or more and she added that they have very long lines on the weekends.
We got there early about 530p and it was only half full. The waiter was less than enthusiastic and not very friendly. We ordered a pitcher of lime margaritas which were not that great. We ordered the guacamole and it was good but even before we finished, the main entrees arrived. It was clear that they were trying to get us in and out as quickly as possible. They never asked if we wanted more drinks or even dessert. It was a definitely a one and done!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jest D.Hampshire, IL037Feb 9, 2024
I just over a year this place turned into a real disappointment. Tasteless beans and rice. Guacamole looked like Soylent green. No value, portions smaller . Won't be back.
