The timeframe of my life will now be labeled as BBBP and ABBP, "Before Blueberry Bread Pudding" and "After Blueberry Bread Pudding," respectively. This dessert deserves its own fan page or even its own restaurant, it is really that good.
I had heard good things from multiple people about Hanju Kitchen and was looking forward to trying it. The atmosphere of the Royal Bobcat is fun yet comfortable (I've been here for drinks a few times before, but never had the chance to try the food). The food was definitely yummy, but it was outshined by a million lumens by the bread pudding.
I'm not sure if the blueberry bread pudding is a special, as the desserts were written on a white board. If it's only a special, please consider making it a staple dish. If you're in a 10 mile radius, or even more, you have to try it. I've had some pretty good desserts in my life, and even some not so great ones from some big name restaurants, but this, this was special.
It came with some sort of cream on top. It wasn't whipped cream and wasn't ice cream. Regardless, it was delicious. Then you add in that vanilla ice cream with the warm, gooey richness of the pudding and it's a really dreamy experience.
There was a matcha bread pudding on the menu, that I'm planning to try soon. I honestly want an entire blueberry bread pudding from Hanju instead of a cake for my birthday.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 30, 2024
Came to the Royal Bobcat to try Hanju Kitchen as part of the RI Food Fights Lord of the Wings competition. This was our first visit to a bar that was an old haunt for us. The decor & vibe here are wonderful! Fabulous drinks in a comfortable, stylish yet fun setting. We were wishing we could hang around longer into the evening for more drinks & jazz, but, alas, this visit wS about the food...
While drinks are ordered normally at the bar, Hanju operates separately from a little window. A slight ring of the bell & we were immediately attended to by a friendly woman. The Korean/Cajun fusion menu has some very fun selections - we look forward to trying. The Sweet Spucy Gochujang Wings were as exciting as they sound! Super crispy, as Korean chicken should be with a delicious & complex sauce. We also ordered the Veggie Dumplings and were excited to see they they appeared house-made. So often, dumplings are simply cooked from frozen. These were delicious with the savory soy glaze.
A great spot & fun, tasty food - we can't wait to go back for more!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 28, 2024
Hanju kitchen is inside more of a bar environment. The overall feel is homey and sophisticated. There's a bar area and a window for Hanju Kitchen. You order at the window and provide a table number. It's self seating, but then they bring the food to your table.
It happened to be a Saturday night when we went, and we found out there's live jazz every Wednesday and Saturday night. The band started at 8p and said they'd be there until 11p. It was a nice surprise.
The food we got was delicious. I asked the woman at the Hanju kitchen window what she thought was best on the menu, and she recommended we get a few items and share. We got the Bulgogi Mac, Shrimp Po Boy, Pork Dumplings, and Korean Wings. I think she pointed us in the right direction.
The dumplings were well flavored. I'm not a huge wing fan, but I did like the Korean sauce on the chicken.
The best item was the Bulgogi Mac, which had all the flavor and creaminess you could hope for.
I wasn't overly impressed with the shrimp po boy, but I had it right after the Mac. It was just a pretty basic fried shrimp sandwich in my opinion. The French fries it came with served to mop up the extra cheese from the Mac though.
We left thinking we'd definitely go back. The main barrier in that area is parking, but we did find a street spot right around the corner.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pat S.West Warwick, RI13199May 16, 2024
Located on Atwells in the former speak easy, stopped in for #RIFoodFights best wings, and my experience was delightful. The wings were outstanding and now I am a repeat customer. I am a fan of Asian Fusion and I appreciate Hanju Kitchen.

Luckily a friend told us about what to expect here otherwise we would've been totally confused. There are two separate businesses located in one location called "The Royal Bobcat" with OUI over the entrance. If that isn't confusing enough you'll need to walk thru the bar area to find a couple of menus on a small counter or, you can use the QR code on each table to peruse the menu. Ring the bell on the counter and someone will appear to take your food order. If you want drinks you order from the bar. We had the gumbo which was a small bowl of a Southern grandma's comfort food. Next, the gooey chicken wings coated in a Korean finger lickin' glaze and the vege dumplings - crispy and delicious although I have had better at another Korean restaurant. Overall, the food was good and I really like the vibe of the place with stained glass and sparkly lights in an intimate setting. My only negative comment would be the bartendress who is low on the scale of friendly and definitely not a smiler. See my "The Royal Bobcat" review. Cracking a smile now and again can make your customers visit a beacon of joy amidst a delightful menu of seoulful bayou Korean-Cajun fusion concoctions.

I can't believe it took me so long to try Hanju Kitchen! I've been following them on Instagram for a while and always salivating over the pictures.
I didn't realize initially that Hanju Kitchen shares a space with The Royal Bobcat but the pairing really works! You can grab some delicious food from the kitchen window and a lovely cocktail at the bar and enjoy.
We sampled the kimchi mac and cheese and the surf n' turf po'boy. Both were truly outstanding. I'm not sure I could pick a favorite as they were both executed flawlessly and were just so flavorful and delicious.
I am totally sold on the Cajun/Korean fusion food offered by Hanju Kitchen and am looking forward to returning again soon! Would 100% recommend it :)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Dec 8, 2023
Came here with two friends on a Thursday night. Great vibes, drinks, and food! Hanju was not there when I lived in Providence, so it's great to see there's a place like this now in Prov. We ordered the kimchi mac & cheese, gumbo, and surf & turf rice. I was pleasantly surprised by the food, they were all flavorful. The kimchi mac & cheese was my favorite, actually, one of my fave mac & cheese I've had in awhile. I can't locate the drinks menu online, but they were also good and decently priced. Overall, a nice place to chill and hangout with your friends. I would definitely come back here!

Hanju kitchen is located in The Royal Bobcat. I was super excited to try this place since its a fusion between Korean food and cajun food. I also follow them on Instagram and they post really great photos. Great job on marketing!
I rang the bell for service and ordered the Bulgogi mac, Bulgogi po'boy, and Surf N Turf rice.
The Bulgogi mac has bulgogi, kimchi spice cheese sauce, cajun spice, and kimchi relish. The Bulgogi po'boy has sweet soy korean marinade beef steak, lettuce, tomato, daikon pickles, remoulade w/ Cajun fries. The Surf N Turf rice has bulgogi steak and fried shrimp. All the food was delicious and very flavorful. The mac n cheese had different types of pasta. The bulgogi po'boy was great, but it was interesting to have hot bulgogi and cold lettuce in one bite. The bread was fresh. The fries were fried to the perfect temperature.
I am definitely interested to coming back to Hanju kitchen and trying other dishes.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 21, 2023
Stumbled upon on this bar and ordered the following:
- Cajun Kimchi Mac n Cheese $12: House kimchi, Cajun cheese sauce, 3 cheeses, kimchi relish, scallion, house chili oil - WOW this was so delicious! Packed with flavor, really had a good spicy kick so if you cannot handle spice, it might be a bit spicy for you. There were two different types of pasta(Penne and shells).
- Hush puppies: It was my first time having hush puppies and I'm not a big fan of cornbread. My friend did like it though.
- Poboy (Surf N Turf): Bulgogi Steak & Fried Shrimps, lettuce, tomatoes, daikon pickles, remoulade w/ Cajun fries $19: AMAZING! Bulgogi meat was tender and the fried shrimp was lightly battered and the combination was perfect!
FYI - To place an order you will have to go to the corner window and ring the bell and pay there as well. Whether you condiments or napkins you'll need to go to this window. Water is self served and is available at the bar. The wall is full of cat pictures so if you're a cat lover that's a plus! Haha. There seems to be free jazz on Wednesday and Saturdays!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 18, 2023
Honestly this is a late review and well overdue. I've been thinking of the Kim chi Mac and cheese for a month now.
Last minute plans to meet up with a friend to grab a drink, lots of indecisions - and it led to one great dinner.
It was quick and delicious and we ordered a few other items to share - snacks for all.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
