Halo Burger is a go to grease burger place.
They meal prices seem kinda high to me, but the burger is pretty good. If you download the app you can get some rewards, and that kinda makes the price a little better.
If you get a meal, go for the tator tots. They are nice and crispy and delicious.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 23, 2016
Memories . . . Having grown up in Flint, Halo Burger was a staple in the diets of all craving a good burger--especially a burger with mayo and green olives (something I still copy to this day on my own burgers). The cashier grew up in Burton, just outside of Flint, and she filled me in on menu changes from the original menu I am familiar with.
Today I opted for fries and a quarter pounder without cheese, loaded with all the toppings, sans olives. The fries are fairly thick cut and great after adding a little salt. The burger patty and toppings are fresh, and the sandwich is satisfying. I sit in the clean, well-maintained dining room, facing a picture of the location on Saginaw St. at 4th in Flint, and reminisce on the times spent downtown with my friends, dancing the night away, and going for food afterward until the wee hours of the morning. This Halo Burger is as good as the one I visited in days of yore. Now, back to my reminiscing . . .Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 4, 2015
The bigger you get here, the better you will like it. Go supreme and you will get the Halo Burger love, the regular QPs are just not anything special in my book even when junked up. I got the works but James stuck with just extra cheese and bacon. Of course I liked mine better than he did. You should only go naked (no sauce or veg) when it is special. When it is less than top drawer quality, going naked just makes everything a little disappointing. You notice the cheapness of the package as a whole, all the little flaws. Covering things up with extra flavors and textures masks any deficiencies nicely.
The tots are always a hit for my husband. The o rings were respectable. The fries are nada special. I'd skip them. The Boston cooler option? Pure Michigan happiness in a cup. I'm always all for that being an option. They do not have these gingery delights at enough places! I'd come here for them solo but I can never do a shake type option AND a burger. I am weird. Shakes are strictly dessert in my neighborhood.
If you get the supreme you will not be hungry enough for a Boston cooler dessert but if you get a QP you will not like the burger part of the experience as much. Too much for my little brain to work out. That and the hike means this will not be a regular stop.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Nov 22, 2015
Okay, it's 3.5 stars. I don't want to overrate it, but it's not half bad. I've been here before for a yelp event, but that was about a year and a half ago, since I'm never on this side of town. When my friends daughter and I got here, she had never been here before, so I reviewed the menu with her and she got the chicken strips. I went with the bbq burger since I was feeling like doing something different with my order this time.
Overall, it's the same great place that I remember. This location seems to be better then the one I went to in Birch Run for whatever reason. The menu has a great selection and the prices are fair for what they serve. WAY better then McDonalds, and my friends daughter loved the fries.
I don't know that I would drive all the way to Novi to eat here, but if I'm this side of town, I'd be more then happy to stop in.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ornella B.Novi, MI1411918Jul 15, 2016
The hubby and I tried the brown bag special which is two QP combos for $10 and it was sooooo gross. The burgers were not good quality meat. Think Burger King or Wendy's burgers; I was so grossed out I only had a couple of bites!! I had the tots and my husband the fries; I would say the fries are definitely better. They tasted crispier and fresher. The tots were mushy and not fully cooked at the same time...blehhhh!!
The two stars is really for the service. The girl was super sweet and showed us where the drinks were and explained their iced tea...too sweet if you're wondering. And then she brought the food out to us and asked if we needed anything else. She was great!!
This was our first and last time coming here, sorry Halo Burger but Bagger Dave's definitely has you beat. Nice Try!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 17, 2014Updated review
Second stop in, just before close on a Friday night for a Boston cooler dessert and side of onion rings.
Employees are so nice, even gave us a sample of their chili after we chatted about the new items on their menu. Even mozzarella sticks.... yay!, but a but overpriced for fast food mozzie sticks).
Boston cooler was everything I'd been craving. Onion rings were fresh out of the fryer, crisp, and yummy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 19, 2014Previous reviewYes, it's fast food but it's good, greasy, and innovative. And, even better, it's "made in Michigan".
I was fortunate to be able to sample many of their sandwiches ranging from the tasty halopeño burger, loaded with fried jalapeños, zesty ranch and pepper jack cheese to a spicy chicken sandwich to their turkey burger. I also sampled the olive burger which was surprisingly good considering I'm not a fan of green olives. Their fries, tater tots and onion rings were fresh and crunchy.
They have a lot of fountain drinks to choose from and their signature drink/dessert, the Boston Cooler (Vernors + vanilla ice cream) was also a special treat (esp to dip your fries into, yum!)
The workers were very friendly and seemed to care about the food they were serving. The combo prices seemed on par with the competition if not less which is great because their burgers are fresh and actually taste like beef as opposed to a frozen mystery meat patty.
Halo Burger is pretty nostalgic for me so I am happy to see them expanding and doing so well. If fast food isn't your normal thing, it'd definitely fit into your life whilst nursing a hangover. - Bob A.Northville, MI059Aug 24, 2016Updated review
Have to update my original reviews as the fries are hit or miss. Sometimes they're good, other times they taste like the cooking oil is overdue for changing.
Another update getting them back to 5 Stars. I had received a Yelp message from the owner stating that she would correct the problem with the fries. She did.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

May 23, 2014Previous reviewGood burger and fries. Prices are reasonable and they are extremely fast , bringing my food out to me before I finished pouring my drink.

This is the best burger joint ever!!
7 days without a halo burger, makes one weak...
It has been sold from the Thomas family, so I hope they stay to the original menu...
QP deluxe with cheese and olives with a cream ale...damn good!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - MS. K.Novi, MI01421Apr 19, 2015
Just basic nothing special. Bf thinks no large groups I concur. The fish sandwich leaves a lot to be dedired. I didn't like it. The turkey burger tastes like Jennie o. The history says halo is known for its olive burger, I can't find out cause I don't care for olives. Bf loves the burger meat. In his opinion it's to expensive it is for children and only for adults with a coupon
