There is going to be a lot of traffic and that is going to suck a lot and you will have to pay for parking ($8) and duh, lots of people. Admission is granted with your pin for the other derby events although no one really looked to be checking.
Once inside and allowed by the staff, the gates to the midway were open and you could walk amongst the balloons. The hosts of the event would announce when they would be doing a glow or a twinkle so uou could be ready to tape or take pictures of it. The pilots of the balloons were friendly as well.
There was limited fair food available but, we only noticed this when leaving.
It appeared that people would be able to use the bathrooms at the grounds as there was no port-o-potties that I could see anywhere
Very glad I was able to check this outHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Brian B.Louisville, KY1983123Apr 29, 2016
Ok so if you go right at the start be prepared for traffic and lots of people.
If you go later it's pretty cool especially if you get good weather. They do a good job of describing the balloons and their stories.
They go glows and tinkles with the lights in the balloons. It's pretty cool :-)
They stop serving beer 30 min before the end so double check.
There is food inside and out but the lines are really long.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bernadette A.Capitol Hill, Washington, DC1365645Apr 25, 2015First to Review
