Best place ever. It's been 2 years since graduating and moving back home and never have I ever missed an auto shop so much. We need you guys in BHM!! 10/10 recommend.

I am a college student and with my parents far away and whenever I have car issues it always stresses me out being away from them. Grays has totally eliminated that issue for me, they are so helpful and kind with whatever problem you're dealing with. Take your car to them because we all know car troubles are stressful, but with grays they completely take the stress off of your shoulders and help you find the solution. My favorite auto shop in town! Will always have my service.

They are always behind. Poor time management. I took my vehicle to them to figure out why there was squealing in my tire well after a break and tire job they completed. They looked at it and within .05 mile it's was still squealing. Returned to the store within 5-10 minutes and they stated it would be another day or so because there were behind. I was told they would have to take time and look in depth to figure out what's wrong..... well what did you do the first two times? I got a full break service the first time.

Don't promise an end of day job and it takes multiple days. It doesn't matter if it's parts or personnel you need to call to let the owner know the status of the repairs and compensate them. If you can not fulfill the job say so and save people their time and money.

Great guys! They came to our rescue last year when our college sons truck broke down. And then yesterday they were so helpful when my tired went flat. Matthew was a huge help! Good people!

Communication was great, even with bad news. Also sent videos showing the problems. It was for my daughter's, who is a student, Jeep and I live out of state. They made it easy to approve the estimate and to pay online.

My son a college student took his truck to grays to have them look at it Because it had an oil leak. They quoted us 3900 dollars worth of stuff we knew had nothing to do with why it was leaking. When we picked it up they charged us 70.00 to look at it because we didn't let them fix it. We brought it back where we live and it was an oil filter loose and it cost us 66.00 with an oil change and all. Does not leak at all now. We will never go back to grays ever again. I am sure they have done a lot of college students like this before. My advice is to always get a second opinion.

My breaks were squeaking so I knew I needed at least new brake pads and maybe more so I dropped my car off and they quoted me $1200 and added a bunch of stuff I knew I didn't need. They told me I needed all new rotors and break pads as well as a bunch of other add ons. I told them to just do the break pads and leave the rotors. Took it for a second opinion and was told that my rotors were completely fine and didn't need any maintenance for a while.

I came to Gary's for new front brakes for my Jeep, and they ended up quoting me $1,200 for brakes all around, new rotors, and some other stuff. I'm a college student so I don't have time to deal with this kind of stuff so I almost bit the bullet and paid for it.
But I took my Jeep for a second opinion at Integrity Auto Service in Opelika and they said i didn't need anything Gary's said I needed extra and quoted me only $350, not including military/police/fire discount. The front desk worker at Integrity even texted me a week later making sure everything was running great.
I cant imagine how many college students Gary's rips off. Gary's is the reason why people don't trust mechanics anymore.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daniel S.San Francisco, CA01Dec 6, 2023
It actually pains me to write this because I feel I have developed a rapport with the guys at grays and I always had good interactions with David the manager. Basically, I went there because the heater in my vehicle was not blowing hot as usual. It was determined to be a blockage, basically gunk built up in the radiator and heating system. Here is the kicker. I got two heater hoses with the appropriate clamps and the system flushed. That was $903.00+, yes over $900 for a radiator flush and two heater hoses. They did extend me a veteran discount and that brought the price down to $887 and change. By the way, they had to flush the system twice because I was told my vehicle was ready but the heat still wasn't working. Another day and then it got fixed. I know the cost of doing business but this was abuse. I was the guy that would recommend them and go there with other vehicles but if I don't get an explanation or some consideration my business goes somewhere else. Really, two heater hoses, clamps and a radiator flush $900.00. It is a pain but it is worth getting a second opinion.

We have purchased tires for all four of our vehicles and had our cars serviced here for the past three years. We have always been happy with their service until now. I will never use them again or recommend them to others!!!!

Good guys. Patched and beaded a lawn mower tire for free. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the auburn area. Prior to this I would only take my truck to Whitts Auto in auburn but now I would not hesitate to bring it to Grays.
