Quality of customer service has taken a turn for the worse since Maura left. I have stored my motorcycle for years at GKS and every year Maura would work with me to intake my bike when the weather was as nice as could be in November. I could schedule a couple of days out for drop off. This year after I paid my deposit, 4 days later I tried to schedule a drop off. They told me nothing is available for over a week. This is not the service that I came to expect in past years and since I couldn't plan around the weather for drop off, I found other arrangements for storage with a company that offers free motorcycle pickup. GKS had my $100 deposit for 4 days, and refused a refund. When a business can no longer meet the needs of their customers, why should they keep their money? Very disappointing.

GK’s Custom Polishing, Inc. has been in business for 29 years and has been in the storage business for over 20 years of that time. Most of GK's reviews are all 5 star. We now receive a 1-star review because of the service we provided…. Service is something that GK’s prides itself on as can be seen from all the 5-star reviews listed. Employees have retired over the years, but the policies and service at GK’s have not changed. I think the real crux of this situation comes from the fact this customer knowingly agreed to a non-refundable storage deposit (as is listed very clearly on our website), so that GK’s could reserve him a storage space for his motorcycle this upcoming winter. Once GK's receives a storage reservation, there is a good amount of work performed by our office staff to solidify a storage space for each and every customer. All of our storage drop offs are scheduled with their own appointment so that GK’s has time to intake their storage item, take pictures, review services, etc. This is all performed, so GK’s can provide a high level of service to each and every one our of storage customers. This customer called and demanded he drop off that day, of which we had no drop off appointments remaining. In turn, he demanded a refund for his storage deposit. Due to him not being given a refund, he gave GK’s a 1-star review. We were happy to accommodate a drop off for his motorcycle shortly thereafter, but that was not acceptable. In turn, the customer became very rude and demanding to our staff. Shortly after this, GK's did return the customer his full deposit in an effort to appease the customer.

I had an awesome experience with GK's Custom Polishing. Jeff Kozey and his team at GK's are amazing! The interior of my car was severely damaged in a flood. I brought the car to GK's where a detailed assessment of the damage. Jeff kept me informed every step of the process. While the car was being done, they gave me a loaner car. When I went to pick up my car, I was completely blown away. It literally looked and smelled like a new car! I highly recommend GK's to anyone that wants a job done right and done well!

In the Fall of 2017 we hired the company to put an epoxy coating on our 30 year garage floor. The one and only reason that we were getting the work done was because of having to keep patching various parts of the garage floor that were flaking up from years of salt.
Prior to the work being performed not once was it mentioned that their epoxy solution may not be effective and I will continue to experience flaking in the garage floor.
After the job was completed I have continued to experience some flaking, which GK's has come out to repair free of charge three times. Now they will no longer maintain.
Their staff even stated "Surprised you do not have more issues". If there was any concern about their solution not working effectively, it should have been communicated up front.
Very likely within the next couple of years, we will have to replace with Nature Stone.
Unfortunately we are out $5,000. If they would have advised that their solution may not work, then it would be our fault for hiring their services.
When they communicate nothing, who should remedy? GK's in my opinion.
My advice to potential customers to confirm warranty and be careful of what they promise!

The following is an update to my review after seeing the company's response. My strong advice is to be very cautious using this vendor!
The following comment was made in the response by GK's "We do NOT sugarcoat anything and will always discuss potential problems or limitations, even if they are remote possibilities." This is a complete lie and please be very cautious in using their services. I was told specifically by their salesman that they did not make me aware of any potential issues because they normally don't happen. Obviously they did not make me aware of any concerns initially and certainly did not communicate any concerns "even if they are remote possibilities"
GK's also indicates in their response "There is no way we could have known this about your garage floor during the estimate process or while the work was being performed" This is also a complete lie. Their installer who came in for a couple of the repairs, told us specifically that he was surprised on how well the initial epoxy was holding up because he had concerns. This was mentioned by the same installer who was with the company for years during a couple of visits to the house.
If this was a concern by the installer initially, we should have been advised so potentially we could have stopped work in the garage and went with another product (i.e. Nature Stone).
I was convinced by the salesman that their solution would hold up better than the Nature Stone Product, which was a complete lie. Not once were we advised of the "remote possibility of any issues" prior to or during the initial application of the epoxy (despite the individual installing the product informing us afterwards that he had a variety of concerns).

Dear Customer,
It is always our goal to be truthful and honest with every customer regarding the services and finishes we provide. We do NOT sugarcoat anything and will always discuss potential problems or limitations, even if they are remote possibilities.
On your floor, the problem areas where the coating is not adhering are not related to salt damaged areas. The concrete pour for your garage floor was not done evenly. There are weak areas in the pour (too much sand content) and that has allowed some areas of concrete to break apart. This situation is not typical. There is no way we could have known this about your garage floor during the estimate process or while the work was being performed.
A warranty was not offered as part of the package you selected for your garage floor. Nevertheless, we returned 3 times to fix the damaged area (at no charge to you). We did this because we appreciate our customers and we want them to be happy. We cannot keep returning to fix the damaged areas when the problem is something that is out of our control and not at our fault.
We did promise to provide an epoxy/urethane coating for your garage floor. When the work was being performed and after it was completed, you were very happy with the final product. As you can see by our other reviews, we have never had another complaint with our concrete coatings. Wonderful company, will be very happy to do business with them again. They fixed my countertop that everyone told me couldn't be fixed! Professional, on time, finished the job quickly. Cleaned up everything when they were done. Would highly recommend!

My youngest daughter gave me the gift of interior detailing on my Tahoe for Christmas. She said it would look like new when I got it back from GK. I took it in with 3 years of wear and tear, dust, dirt and some salt stains on carpet. What I received back was BETTER than the day I took possession new! I don't know how they did it, but not a speck of lint anywhere on the black carpet, no dust or grime in the controls, no chemical odor, no slippery surfaces. It was perfect! Their loaner vehicle was sparkly clean, a recent model, and in excellent driving condition. I went away really liking not only the service, but the people I met there. Very, very impressive business on all counts!

Needed to get the interior of my minivan detailed right before a long road trip. They were able to schedule my after a cancellation, and completed service within the time frame requested. They also assisted with transportation since I did not have access to a second driver. The interior of my vehicle looked nearly brand new, with only a couple small areas that were not cleaned. However, I am willing to overlook this given how nice the rest of the car looked and the fact that they were asked to have the car finished by a certain time. I strongly recommend GKs for anyone needing detailing in the Avon/Avon Lake area!

I had a great experience with this business . Very professional staff, from the manager calling me and confirming my appointment to letting me know what time I can pick my car up, welcoming through the entire process. Amazing job on the actual detail of my car, even the interior crevices were dust free. Would highly recommend this business, I will be a repeat customer.

I've been meaning to write this review for awhile. I would highly recommend this company for automotive detailing. I'm not sure how they did it, but our seven year old Jeep looked like new when we picked it up! I had this done for my husband for Christmas, and I was especially impressed how GK's offered loaner vehicles that were toasty warm the morning we dropped off. Very pleasant to work with. We will definitely be using them again in the future!

Great job, terrific service. Jonathan came out and told us exactly what we needed for our granite counter tops and stamped concrete patio, then squeezed us in to have the job done.

GK's polished a pair of aluminum valve covers for me. They did a great job it was perfect. The staff are all very nice. I would highly recommend them for your polishing needs.
