I didn't believe.....till I tried......I am a believer now. I only wish I knew Dr. Zhang sooner. It would do no good for
the skeptic.......just try for yourself.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julie F.Manhattan, NY20127118Nov 16, 2013
My mom has been in borderline kidney failure for 12 years, thanks to Dr. Zhang. And it's a GOOD thing. We came to him when traditional medicine put her in borderline kidney failure by mis-dosing her diabetes meds. Dr. Zhang never promised he'd restore her kidneys (that's impossible), but he promised to maintain them as they were. He kept his promise. It's been 12 years, she still takes meds, and her kidneys - thankfully - just stopped deteriorating that hairline before failure. Disregard the lack of a computer. Disregard the look of the office. Disregard the very antiquated methods of diagnosis and recordkeeping. The man is a miracle worker. His daughter-in-law, who helps him, is a born medic - it always amazed me how calming she is. It's like free therapy with your $35 purchase of a custom blend of herbs (a generous month's worth). They will not scam you. I spent a month talking mom into acupuncture (she's afraid of needles), and when I finally succeeded and addressed it at an appointment, was told acupuncture will do nothing for her. Whereas any traditional doc would in a similar situation say "sure, lets have a procedure, my wife has expensive tastes!" GO. Just GO and see what he says. He'll tell you straight out if he can't help you. You're welcome (cause you'll thank me).

I recently visited Dr. Fu Zhang's office for chronic muscle pain and an injured knee. Acupuncture was administered and I felt positive results instantly. I literally walked out of his office much better than when I walked in. This was my first experience with acupuncture. He put needles in various parts of my body and attached some type of electric current to each one for 1/2 hour. The concerns I have however, regarding his practice are a) not sure of the cleanliness of his office as it is a very informal, seemingly non-sterile setting, b) not much conversation goes on with the doctor/patient relationship c) once the needles were removed, there was no post-session feedback of any kind. I was wondering how often I would need to return for treatments, or how many sessions I would need. There was also no preparation for what I should expect as a first timer. Needless to say, I suppose the results should speak for themselves. The price is very reasonable, although you get what you pay for. Acupuncture treatments are $35.00 per session, as are the herbs prescribed. The office is open 7 days a week, and you won't need an appointment.

Dr. Zhang has helped me with blood pressure for 12 years now - keeping me off of pharmaceutical medications. I highly recommend him and his daughter-in-law - they are professionals. It is 'old-world' medicine - no fancy office or candies in the dish, steep flight of stairs to his 2nd floor office, wonderful herbalist who mixes the herbs but does not speak English, and good advice from Dr. Zhang. I trust him completely. I did try the acupuncture for a different reason but for my problem, it was not helpful - not his fault. I highly recommend him - he helped a friend of mine with cancer stay alive for 15-20 years - much longer than predicted.
