This place is expensive but outstanding. A+ cocktails. Have been coming here regularly for a year.

Flea Street is a cozy spot that tells a flavorful story. The McFarland Smoked Trout appetizer was a hit, followed by the Hand Cut Spaghetti with a surprising fishy kick from anchovies. The lobster was tasty but pricey.
The Pork Katsu was huge and crispy but lacked exciting sides--a little tang or vinegar could've spiced it up. Desserts stole the show, especially the apple dumpling and poached pear.
Service was friendly, adding to the welcoming vibe of the cabin-like ambiance. While some dishes could use a tweak, Flea Street's appetizers and desserts shine, making it a charming spot for a relaxing meal.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 28, 2024
Loved the cozy local vibes at this restaurant! The staff were very friendly and attentive the whole time too.
The free biscuits for appetizers were divine. Spread some ribbon butter and sprinkle a little bit of salt and it's perfection. I wanted to ask for more but was too shy lol.
We ordered the rack of lamb as an appetizer - we thought it would be too small but it was just the perfect size given its richness. It was amazing. For entrees, we ordered the short ribs and risotto. The short ribs melts in your mouth and was very tasty. The risotto was almost too rich for my taste. To be honest it was not my favorite because of the earthy flavors but it was still good.
Definitely coming back to try other menu items since we really enjoyed our time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 20, 2024
It's been about 25+ years since I last visited Flea Street and happy to make a return visit. Food is delicious and always changing based on the season and highlighting local products. When you dine at Flea Street you taste the freshness of each ingredient and how well they complement each component.
:: Brussel sprouts - crispy, with pomegranate, butternut squash and creaminess from the pecorino - probably one of the best I've had at a restaurant.
:: Risotto - creamy rich, flavorful with parsnip and Parmesan ($39) - delicious and decadent...and a bit extravagant with no protein
:: Miso Black Cod - perfectly cooked, flaky, with a light miso broth.
:: Date Cake - when received it was a bit laughable as it was literally a small, ramekin-sized cake cut in half and presented on the plate. It was delicious and not overly sweet but for $18 was expecting a bit more.
Food, service and ambiance wonderful but definitely an indulgence and priced for the affluent area of tech companies and for me...well, when I redeem my Costco Rewards Certificate! Price/person with the above and drinks, above, healthy living tax and added 20% (you can add more if you'd like) is about $120/person.

Flea Street is such a warm and inviting restaurant with amazing food that I would describe as Farm to Table Californian. They have ample vegetarian options also. Bryan said they are updating their dessert menu. They change up their menu to include seasonal item as that are locally sourced.
This is a great date place, especially when on a date with my friends and family.
Big bonus points for a sophisticated and inclusive non alcoholic drink menu. As a non drinker I appreciate this so much.
The service is impeccable and reminds me of Las Vegas in that one never needs to ask for a drink to be filled, or a plate to be cleared.
I'll be back, perhaps one day with a romantic special someone.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0May 19, 2018Previous review4 stars for adorable and romantic ambience that reminds me of the now closed Station 1. It's not pretentious and relatively quiet for conversation. The carpet could be changed out to something newer as it looked vaguely reminiscent of something in a 1970s living room. There are lots of steps and uneven surfaces to go through the restaurant, but the host was good about letting us know this.
5 stars for the food. Simple, excellent ingredients, perfectly cooked, amazing vegetarian options, and options for not so large portions. Their amuse-bouche was a lovely strawberry on top of a beet on top of yoghurt. The salad with goat cheese was nice but I don't recall any goat cheese on it. The soup was incredible. We shared the sole (well sized in a small portion) and the halibut. For dessert the strawberry shortcake with cremé fraiche was incredible. After dessert they offered us mini cornbread pieces which were dense but tasty. The bread basket was lovely.
I would give it 2 stars (sadly) for service. I've eaten here before, but tonight they pushed us to clear our table before we finished each course. Half the food was still not eaten and they wanted to move us along to the next course. What's the rush? I felt like I was eating at a NYC restaurant that wanted to maximize the number of dinner services that evening. It certainly didn't fit in the vibe otherwise created by the restaurant. We had to ask them not to clear our half eaten food. The biggest faux pas was that the check was delivered with dessert. Did we smell or look bad? The rushed service was unbearable and really unnecessary. Luckily my dining companion was very nice about it, but it certainly took away from the experience. - Sep 30, 2023
Amazing service from Ciara and Sergio. The food was absolutely delicious. From the moment we walked in, the hostess was incredibly kind and helpful.
Our drinks came out quickly and were smooth. The biscuits and bread that is brought to the table with butter squiggles and fig jam were a wonderful way to start the night.
The toast of the day was surprising delightful. Surprising because I don't believe we have ever had frozen shaved tomato but it worked so well with the oil oiled bread and burrata. We could have eaten 10 of these.
I had the vegetarian tasting plate and my husband had the short ribs. Mine was so much food I couldn't even finish but vegetables never tasted so good. I tried some of the short rib and it was wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked,
The pumpkin spice martini was delightful and the little raspberry muffins given with the check were the perfect finish to the night.
Such a wonderful experience that we will definitely be back for again soon.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Sep 18, 2023
My husband took me here for dinner on a date night since it is Michelin plated.
The restaurant seems like it's in a old house. At least where we sat, it's a quieter restaurant since the dining table spread out in the different rooms of the house. Probably not a great spot for something like a first date where you might want more commotion around you. The crowd is more mature...
I was in bit of a sticker shock by the wine by the glass menu, since everything was over 20, but the wine I got (picked the cheapest!), was really a beautiful red that I really enjoyed.
Service was absolutely wonderful- definitely on par with other high end restaurants in the area. It was nice that the owner also stopped by to say hi.
They start you off with complimentary biscuits and bread that come with ribboned sheets of butter.
We had the grilled Jimmy Nardello. I would've thought it was named after someone at the restaurant, but it's a type of red pepper. I'm not a huge red pepper fan, but these were really cooked and flavored to perfection with pine nuts, feta and garlic and went really great on bread.
Pacific coast catch was a nice lightly battered fish, presented on a tomato based sauce and whipped potato.
We ended the meal with the Peach Cobbler, which was made to order. I'm not a huge fruit- based dessert fan, but the freshly based crust was amazing with the ice cream.
Overall, excellent service, delicious food. They support local farmers and told us where some of our vegetables were from nearby, Excellent for a quiet date night. Since their menu uses seasonal ingredients, we'll be back for sure!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 19, 2023
We came here without a reservation on a Tuesday night. My party of four was seated promptly and at a lovely inside table. The table was set with the most quirky and cute tableware. I adored the green glasses, and the mis matched plates were adorable.
The restaurant brought out some of their famous buns (bread) with curled butter. What a treat! Everyone thought they were amazing.
We all ordered the same thing - the vegetarian sampler. Are we vegetarians? No. Did we want to pick our plates? Yes! Absolutely every bite was scrumptious. We truly enjoyed our meals and were delighted to have had the opportunity to eat here.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 2 - Mar 28, 2023Updated review
Came by for dinner the other night and it was an excellent world class experience from the Michelin guide. Made a reservation and our table was ready upon arrival. There is a $50/person cancellation fee if cancelled 24 hours prior to dining.
Parking is available in the private lot or on the residential street. Dining is available in the dining room, outdoors, or at the bar.
The dining room has been remodeled since my last visit with new floors, brighter lights, and plain tables without the white tablecloth.
Started off with the complimentary biscuit and bread and it was fantastic as it came with a side of super fragrant and soft butter and sea salt. This was paired with some fresh vegetables which were also complimentary.
Opted for the crispy shrimp as the appetizer and it was excellent. Lightly tempura battered shrimp with some light aioli on the bottom.
Moved on to the dungeness crab cake and smoked trout as the first course and it was also world class. The dungeness crab cake was filled with dungeness crab and was topped over a bed of super fresh and light greens. The smoked trout was smoked to perfection and served with a side of light cream, house-made potato ships, and beets. Also excellent.
Opted for the beef short rib as the main course and it was world class. The beef short rib was super tender, flavorful and served over a bed of mashed potatoes, carrots, asparagus, and mushrooms.
Ended off the meal with the cinammon apple fritters with vanilla ice cream. The apple fritters were lightly fried, sugar-coated with some apples and served with some cold vanilla ice cream.
$122/head after tax, 20% service and 2.5% healthly employee surcharges. Bill was presented with a brownie bite which was also excellent.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 1Business owner information

Hello Derek, This is one of the best reviews of Flea Street!! Thank you so much. We read them to the staff, always learning, but yours just made them feel so appreciated in many ways. Thanks for noticing all of the details and we look forward to your next visit!
Jan 30, 2019Previous reviewCame by for dinner the other night and it was a tasty experience. Reservations were easy via OpenTable and street parking was plentiful, and there is also a private lot in the back!
The crowd is definitely more senior, although both the service and food were decent!
Started off with the Halibut small plate which was excellent! The halibut had a nice smokey taste to it and this complemented the potato chips quite well!
The complimentary bread was ok.
Had the beef short ribs for dinner and it was a treat! The short ribs were very tender and flavorful and were served over a small bed of tasty vegetables!
Had the chocolate dome for dessert and it was tasty! It was softer than an ice cream and firmer than a mousse.
Meal ended with a chocolate truffle which was quite tasty!
Service was excellent throughout the meal!

Great little spot in Meno Park.
Very sustainable and everything is locally sourced, and you can taste it.
Drinks were good, the Pinot noir Juice especially.
The food was properly seasoned, and cooked to perfection.
Highlights include:
House made butter milk biscuits- tender and full of flavor, make sure you add a pinch of the sea salt to the butter and pile on the fig jam!
Lamb chop - definitely a must order.
Gnocchi - delightfully light and fluffy
Salmon - specifically the cream less creamed corn, the corn was a revelation and my new favorite way to have corn.
Short ribs- braised beautifully, and very flavorful.
Ricotta pumpkin cheesecake- absolutely delicious
The only slight hiccup was two of our dishes were served without silverware. Other than that, service was great, very friendly and helpful.
We got a chance to speak to Bryan, the chef and he was gracious enough to go over the restaurant's ethos and how they source their product. Very cozy place, we will definitely be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Summer H.Menlo Park, CA04966Feb 16, 2024Updated review
The food here is always good, but Chef Bryan has really outdone himself with the Valentine's Week menu and taken things to the next level. The flavors are bold but harmonious. We absolutely loved every dish we had last night. The Valentine's menu goes through Sat if you can still pick up a reservation!
Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 17, 2020Previous reviewWe moved to the area a few months ago and quickly fell in love with Flea St Cafe for the food, the service and the tasty cocktails. One of the bartenders even shared the Rye a Whisky they like to use in their manhattans and it's now in our bar! Wanting to help them out and have a special night in the middle of the stay in place, we got salads, an app, entrees and cocktails to go. It was amazing!! The quality was fantastic. They picked dishes that travelled and reheated well. They gave us one of our best stay in place nights so far! Just looked at their expanded to go menu and I may have just texted the hubby that we need to get take out again this weekend! Thanks Flea St team for adapting and letting us pick up tasty food! You guys are awesome!
