- Mekenna M.Denver, CO0595Nov 2, 2015
I've lived here for a year and a half and only moving out because I'm leaving the state.
Pros:
- Huge apartments, huge bedrooms, huge walk in closet. Overall very spacious
- Clean
- Friendly staff (although it seems like the turnover is high with who actually works there)
- Fairly quick in fixing maintenance issues (only emergencies - eg. if theres only 1 bathroom and toilet is broken)
- Nice parking garage
- Friendly neighbors
- LOCATION. So close to everything. 3 mins to West End, 5 to uptown, 10 to downtown!
- Awesome pool area
- Small gym but gets the job done!
- Bring any package to your apartment and put inside your door (super nice!)
- I seriously have to shout out the cleaning lady - she is SO friendly and does such a phenomenal job! She's the one that delivers the packages too. She's awesome
- They don't sublease, they terminate your lease and turn it over to someone else with no charge. The process was super easy and it actually benefits you! Michal was awesome in helping with this.
- Toppers pizza, Nail salon, Byerlys, Target all within walking distance. Cub Foods, Kohls, Nordstrom Rack, TJMaxx, DSW, Ulta, etc. (Knollwood Mall) and tons of food options are just down highway 7 about a mile or 2. Movie theatre also just a bit further down from Target.
- Huge parking lot! Tons of space for your guests which is super hard to find around the cities. Seriously the best
- Electric is pretty standard, meaning they have efficient amenities
- Air/heat has never gone out, washer/dryers never broke
Cons:
- Next to 100 (I haven't ever had an issue with noise, but I could see some disliking this)
- Train tracks behind. Train also never bothers me, but I am on other side of building
- 100 CONSTRUCTION. My gosh. Horrible. Makes traffic 100000 x worse, 100 closes almost every weekend, all weekend, making it hard to get around. (Not really their fault and is supposed to end Fall 2016)
- If you use PayLease online just be aware that they have their own late fees in addiition to Hoigaard Village's. It ends up costing you an extra $75 (plus your bank's fees) regardless if you pay rent on the day its due if your funds weren't available at the time they tried to take it out.
- If you live in an apartment by the elevator, you have to take the elevator. The stairs are so far away it would never make sense to do that. I live on the 2nd floor but have no choice.
- Moving in/out is tough. Not allowed to go through the front doors and the garage is pretty shallow so no uhaul type trucks fit. The doors to go up are in the middle so you have to wheel/carry everything from the garage door about 200 feet to the elevator and then of course make the maze walk to whatever apartment you're in
- Lights go out a lot that aren't easy to replace yourself
- No ceiling light in living rooms so it's a bit dark at nightHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jeff H.Minneapolis, MN042May 14, 2013First to Review
WORST worst worst place ever in my life. Very confrontational MANAGER connie ! yelled at me on move in day for using front door for a heavy bulky item. told me it was wrong and I could damage the steel door - talked down to me.
LIED about how often the train runs. TULA - says she lives on site - says once in the morning and once at night ... LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE
threw away my things from my parking spot !! I would post a picture to show it in the building trash.
I have emailed the complex controller - above the manager. He told me he would ccall me back. I emailed him 2 more times - he never has followed up.
YOU WERE WARNED - pretty on the outside, pretty terrible on the inside !!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
