Excellent food and atmosphere and the chef is kind and makes great food. The tartare was great even tho it didn't taste super fresh, scallops were cooked to perfection, foie gras IS A MUST TRY ITS SO GOOD. We also loved our escargot and duck confit dish. We ordered a whole bottle of wine and had an excellent crepe for dessert which came out literally on fire, such a fun and great display. Our server was kind and funny too. We would definitely return :)

Really great place for a smaller group or for a date. It's got very intimate seating and the ambiance is great. We enjoyed a couple cocktails and all in all good experience.

The place was tiny, there was like 2 or 3 tables and the rest was bar seats. Lots of the dish were tapas-style. We got several:
      - Steak tartare: pretty solid, came with bread
      - Black truffle ravioli: the ravioli was small and cute. It felt more like mac and cheese with a tiny bit of truffle. U should try to finish it when it was still warm. It came with bread, and I'm not sure why
      - Escargot: tasty and typically french dish, also came with bread
      - Frog leg: it was a tad salty, but the meat was tender and the sauce was yummy
      - Suzette crepe: they would put on a little show for you. I never tried this so I didn't have any expectations. It felt like orange flavor crepe with some alcohol flavor.
I think this spot was nice and cozy with solid dishes. I won't rush to come back but would recommend if you are in the area.

Me and best friend decided on excuse my French for our restaurant week dinner but unfortunately due to false advertisement on the NYC restaurant they were not serving restaurant week on a Sunday night. We still decided as we were hungry and a place we wanted to try nonetheless. The place was pretty quiet when we arrived in a dreary Sunday night evening. The waiter welcomed us as there was only one waiter and chef and they did an amazing job attending to us and getting the food out in a reasonable amount of time. The place is hard to find at first as it is dark and lower level restaurant . The place over is appealing, the food is delicious and thanks for the recommendations from the waiter. We honestly can say none of the plates or drinks were a disappoint. I highly recommend for anyone looking for some French tapa style bites and they have happy hour on Sunday nights to 7!

Cute place. Cozy. Good drinks. Pricey. We stumbled upon this place and it was empty but I went in for the positive Yelp reviews. The food was good not outrageous though. The octopus was decent but on the verge of rubbery. I was a bit turned off by the host guy who has a bit of an attitude, which doesn't seem so welcoming.

Excuse My French is an enchanting Parisian bistro exuding charm and intimacy where culinary artistry takes center stage. This hidden gem offers exceptional gastronomic creations and a meticulously crafted atmosphere that captured our hearts.

Every dish presented a harmonious fusion of flavors, resulting in a truly extraordinary experience. The Organic Balsamic Chicken, Black Truffle Ravioli, and Nouilles de Cougettes delighted our taste buds in every way imaginable. While the Garlic Shrimp Skewer felt undercooked for our taste, its elegant presentation was delightful.

The server/bartender at Excuse My French crafted a fantastic mocktail, skillfully combining Yuzu and Raspberry puree, which stands as one of the finest mocktails we've encountered in Manhattan.

I eagerly anticipate my return to this culinary haven, but it's ideal for those seeking a refined dining experience or a memorable romantic rendezvous.

We went part of restaurant week, it was a tiny place with primarily bar seating and hard to move around in. The service was accommodating and the bartender was great. The cocktails were really good which was a plus. I had the Winter tiki and it came on fire which was a nice extra touch. Everything fell short when it came to the food. The snails were hard and chewy, mine had broken shell bits in it and not a lot of flavor. The next course was duck confit the truffle was overpowering and I typically really like truffle. The potatoes were grainy. Then the crème brûlée tasted off, it almost made my boyfriend puke. He has a strong aversion to soft cheese and the filling did not taste like custard. He normally loves crème brûlée. The lemon for me was also very overpowering and tart which made it hard to eat. My boyfriend got the chocolate cake and it tasted like protein powder. We were very disappointed and left unsatisfied. Perhaps we just made the wrong choices when it came to the menu but we ordered things we had had previously and enjoyed. I'd hope restaurant week would highlight the best dishes to encourage people to return when there isn't a deal. I don't think I'll be returning for food but the cocktails were really good so I'd recommend for that.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and wasn't too busy. Cool lighting and music that wasn't too loud. Attentive and friendly service. Our table's favorites were the truffle ravioli, frog legs and the brussel sprouts. The frog legs were super tender and loved the panko crust, and the sprouts were crisped perfectly. Also just a heads up, the Chimichurri rice was so spicy, so we could only have a few bites.

We also really enjoyed the cheese board, which was a good deal (~$28 for 3 cheeses + bread + fruit/spreads). We also ordered the cinnamon sugar crepe but would probably skip out next time as it was a bit bland and the crepe seemed a bit undercooked.

Excuse My French has been one of my favorite places in the city for a few years now. The ambiance is fantastic, an intimate experience, especially if you sit at the Chef's table.

The bartender is serving up exquisite cocktails that are only rivaled by the food which is prepared in a tiny corner near the bar. It's a limited menu but next to impossible to find something that isn't amazing in everyway, from the presentation to the execution.

Highly recommend and we can't wait to come back!

I ate inside at the bar, I love how cozy it is, the decor, the bookshelf hidden door to the bathroom; the intimacy is palpable.

the service was phenomenal, my bartender had great recommendations for drinks and plates, even managed to give perfect timing between courses. he did stunningly.

the food is an absolute stand out. I had 2 tapas, 2 cocktails, and the $60 Dinner Pre-Fixe Restaurant week menu.

tapas: steak tartare and foie gras lollipops. the steak tartare was absolutely as you expect, soft and creamy meat, the seasoning was peppery, the radish slices and micro greens add good crunch and flavor, the only chance I'd make is to toast the bread.

Foie Gras lollipops were the stand out hero of the night. the balsamic glaze had me licking the plate, the edible flowers were the perfect sour bite to counterbalance the fat of the pate, the microgreens were a great touch, the foie gras itself was delicious and characteristic, with a seared on glaze that added a great flavor and texture. real depth of umami, and didn't feel heavy somehow. you've gotta get this here before New York outlaws it.

Drinks: I had the summer daiquiri and the Excuse My Tie (mai tai). the daiquiri was refreshing and delicious, among the better ones I've had. mai tai was tasty, but I've had better.

      pre fix
the frog legs were really fun, and they don't skimp on the herbaceous garlic butter, which is so full of garlic and herbs that it looks like chimichurri. delicious, but be ready to get your hands and face dirty chasing down the meat between the bones. choking hazard for sure, and you can't pretend to be fancy, but absolutely delicious. (they do taste like chicken, wings come to mind)

the duck confit dish reminds me of a freestanding shepherds pie. the crispy potatoes and the pungent smell of truffle is alluring and exciting, and the taste permeates the dish. I can only be mad about the ratio of potato to meat, but I know meat is expensive these days.

the chocolate lava cake is a good send off, well executed, and I love strawberry. this was the only dish I had that was plainly conventional, so I won't say much about it.

I was out in an hour as a solo diner, had all of that for 160 plus tip. great special occasion place, highly recommend, get the foie gras or else.
