The room was nice enough and a decent price. I did notice that the bed did not have a comforter...(likely a mistake, but we didn't mind, we decided we didn't need a comforter). For the price this was a good room and it was quiet where we were on the 2nd floor. In the morning there was a bunch of little birds singing..maybe some of their nests are in a nearby tree. It was a cheery sound. My one complaint is that the soap (2 "bars") are comically sized like postage stamps. (They fall apart as soon as water hits them and don't provide enough soap for a complete shower). Aside from this, we liked the room and would stay there again (but perhaps bring our own soap)?

I made a reservation online. An hour later plans changed, I called the hotel directly to cancel. They said it was cancelled. It was not and I was charged for the stay I had cancelled. I called them, they had no record of the transaction. Several phone calls and emails later I finally disputed the charge with my credit card company. The credit card company refunded my money, the hotel is still claiming they didn't make the charge.
I do not recommend this hotelHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Johann S.San Francisco, CA148Oct 27, 2023
Didn't sleep much the heater in the room. I think the bearings are gone. It squealed and squalled. For probably 2 hours until it finally stopped squealing and making all the noise.

Big nope. Room was flooded and couldn't pin down any employees. We got in at about 11pm and apparently they have no overnight staff so they had hidden our keys under the mat - not safe at all, already a red flag. When we got to our room there was WATER DRIPPING FROM THE CEILING, puddles on the floor, and the carpet was wet. We called every number we could find and they were all dead lines. In the morning, still couldn't find an employee. Lobby was locked even at 9 am. No breakfast mentioned in some reviews. When we finally got a hold of someone about a refund they said they could "upgrade us to a king suite next time" lol. There will never be a next time. We will stay literally anywhere else.

Had to turn in my Penske truck rental here of all places, was odd. But was told to drop off here by Penske. Done.
Showed up at about 7.15 pm without a reservation.
Receptionist was very pleasant and personable. Very nice start.
Couldn't get a ground floor room being I'm disabled and had no reservation ,but dragged my saggy arse upstairs with the wife in tow.
Nice room, a bit aged, but clean, couldn't get the tv to work, (boomer brain fog) but not a big deal anyhow. The internet was good, that worked fine. Water pressure and temperature was great. Coffeemaker was broken, but worked.
Had a small microwave and fridge. Heater worked great being it was very very cold outside, glad for that. Bed was clean and comfy. Another plus, slept great. Beautiful location with a view of the Wallowa mountains In the distance, very friendly people here, went to the restaurant called the " truck corral" about 65 yards away. Had a good decent breakfast, good food, huge portions. Very nice waitress and staff all around. Decent hotel. It's not the Taj mahal but very suitable, it's old but had some excellent tile work which I though was great in the bathroom, see pic. Was about in my price range which is low budget since I travel quite frequently. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 80.00 bucks. Would come back again is the key point...yes I would, and will. Thank you El Dorado.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Baljit A.Fremont, CA222118Sep 18, 2022
Hotel location is very convenient especially if travelling with kids and pets. It is walking distance to Mcdonalds, It is pet friendly. Our dog was ok in our room. She didnt cause any noises and slept in our room on floor in her bed without any issues. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable for our family of 4. It is a 2 story hotel and there was good water pressure on 2nd floor where we stayed. Alicia was very helpful during our stay with our requests. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

This is the answer that we received from the Manager of El Dorado Inn located in Baker City. Of concern is the portion of the answer that concerns the Pet Fee, because the wife was that the Fee was new, in fact, that it had just been in place for the week that we were away, before our return. Something aniss here
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay. The change of Management, has been in place for a month. Due to previous neglect from prior management and guest, a deposit has been impleted, with a refund apoun check out. I do apologize that you did not have 2 towels in your room. Our standard is two towels for each one of our guest rooms and honestly, it must of been a fluke. The pet fee is $15 per pet, in many hotels you will find the pet fee to be $25-$35 per night and non refundable. It does sadden me that you will not be returning as we are going through renovations and hope to have atleast 1/3-1/2 of the rooms compelted by spring of 2022/2023. I do hope, that you will rethink your decison and give the team at the El Dorado Inn another opporunity to accomodate your lodging needs.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Disappointing. I've stayed here a few times over the past several years. It's usually during the Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally and I'm so tired by the end of the day I only care about clean sheets and hot water. You'll still get that, but the room we stayed in was filthy. Stains on the walls. Tried cleaning them off but they are ON there. It's way too expensive for what you get. Shop around, we only stayed here out of nostalgia, and now that's gone.

It was very bad... I wouldn't stay here or recommend any of my friends or relatives to stay here.
When we entered our room, the floor had a few leaves, bed sheet and cover had some stains and the worse part- when we opened our lamp drawer... we found a drug pipe in it! (And I still have the pictures to prove it!)
If I was managing, my workers better clean the rooms everyday every guest checkout times n better be clean for the next check in guest!
I give them a zero outta 10!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Tmc S.Brinnon, WA01Jul 2, 2022
While booking a room, receptionist (very friendly!) said that room was taken out from under her so we got bumped into a pet friendly room- no pets- "the only room available". She did take off the pet fee but we ended up paying $160.
Got to the room and the TV had a message saying service deactivated, contact management regarding account. Lobby was closed, so couldn't contact anyone. A lot of noise next door and stomping in the room above. Beds were HARD!
Seemed like a shuffle on the rooms since the place was half empty.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your stay. We are in the process of renovating the property and recently had a situation occur, where we had to block off neighboring rooms. The T.V- there should have been directions on how to use the remote in your room. I apologize for that, due to spectrum's set up and waiting on fiber optics, one must use HDMI. There is management on-site 24/7 and it is noted on the door. I would have been more than happy to assist you with the issues you experienced, would I have known. Thank you for staying with us and I hope that once the renovation is done, you will give us another opportunity to accomodate your lodging needs.
