El Charro Authentic

We are visiting from out of town. The food was excellent. We had the horchata, cucumber lime drink, carne asada x 2, and super nachos.
The food was authentic and portions were large.
You order at the counter, then seat yourself.
If we lived here , it would be a staple!!

New to SW Florida I was telling a landscape guy about a Mexican restaurant I had discovered in Fort Myers. He politely told me to go to Arcadia for Mexican food. El Charro. He was right. The serving of meat on the Carnitas Diner is simply the best. Huge serving, tender, juicy, just the best. Wife always goes Carne Asada, also excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful toward newcomers. Always lots of jalapeños, limes and variety of salsa types etc on the self serve bar and great horchata. If you have never had it, this would be a good time to start. Also, shout out to the carne asada tacos ala-cart if you're not as hungry! This place is real local, not an Anglo, formula mexican joint, this is the real deal. People throw around the term, authentic With Mexican restaurants so casually that it is just something you say but this place, El Charro, is genuinely "Authentic."

1st time here. I dined in. Fast service. Large dining room. Fresh food. I had ground beef tacos & the meat was seasoned well. Self serve toppings bar was available. Guacamole Salad with homemade chips was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back. Come check them out!

Real authentic Mexican food also fresh bakery they have other things you can buy in the shop that are imported from Mexico and a great selection beer

Do not just think this is just a restaurant. It is not! It also has a great area to shop some authentic Mexican items, cooking utensils, snacks, and candies.

Now to the food. It's fabulous! So legit! It was Friday so we went with the Fajita Friday special with steak, chips and salsa, and al pastor tacos. Everything is home made right in front of you too. If you're driving through Arcadia...definitely stop. Enjoy!

This is the best, most authentic Mexican food I have ever had in Florida. I drive 30 minutes out of my way when traveling across the state just to have lunch here. It may not be not much to look at, but it's clean and tasty and totally worth the trip.

Delicious food and great service. Atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. The prices aren't too bad compared to other places.

Confusing. If they have a menu, we never got one. There were pictures of menus on the Yelp App. You order at the counter. There are pictures of food, but no prices. After you order you sit at a table and wait for your food.

The no prices thing was worrisome, but as full as it was with locals, we knew it could not be too expensive. It wasn't. I think the total bill for lunch was about 12 bucks and included a drink.

Plenty of parking. Busy but clean kitchen. Clean bathrooms.

Got sick from the chicken here twice. They are using some nasty chicken such low quality.

Wow. El Charro has THE best barria tacos. I'm talking legit luxury in food form. Very great tasting food with incredible prices for the quality.
