TL;DR - Holy beans, Batman! Do yourself a favor and make room in your itinerary for a nice, joyful meal that feels like you're being brought into the family's own dining room.

First off, let me just say that the staff wins an award for courtesy and kindness. Full context: we have 3 kids: one almost-no-longer-a-toddler, one toddler, and one 15 month old who is currently in his phase of exploring gravity.
So, we slid into the booth - could feel the springs- not terrible, but a little uncomfortable and unsteady (especially for little ones who need to kneel to reach the table. The table in the middle of the restaurant was slid away and chairs removed to make space for our high chair. Then, a cup of water for every mouth - with lids on the littles' cups - big cheer!! But then, the littlest hands struck, tossing the whole cup on the floor. The water mostly spread under our table but a little into the walkways of the rest of the restaurant. And just like that, we became THOSE people smh. The staff were so nice about it. Little by little we were able to clean it incrementally throughout the meal, soaking it up with additional layers of paper towels. The response of the staff was gentle - our server even went as far as to tell us he has grandchildren of his own and loves them so. The overall feel was that of "don't worry, we have family and know what it's like." If anything, they seemed to more appreciate my littlest one because of his joyful disposition than show any concerns about how messy he was.
That said, the food we got was worth the visit. For my little ones, we got them quesadillas (hard to beat cheese and tortillas for kiddos that say ketchup is spicy), and they both tucked into the beans in a way that both surprised us and that we celebrated. For my wife and I, we split the Tacos Gobernador (the 15 month old loved that, too) - they were flavorful and I highly recommend it! On every plate, there was a LOT of spiced rice and Beans with a capital B - refried style, and thin. Don't get me wrong, it was all tasty (the salsas on the table to begin with all the way to the mock margaritas at the end).
The kids' food was somewhat quotidian, but that's not necessarily a bad thing when it comes to getting toddlers to eat.
Overall, we left feeling appreciated, which goes much farther than just staking a meal's quality on food.

Honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had, and I have lived around the world for military.

I have heard super mixed reviews about this place but it's close to home and I like to give places a try before judging. That was my mistake. Went on their website to check out their menu and we decided we would order the enchiladas ranchero for my son and the trio fajitas for two for my husband and me. Person on the phone made me repeat both items several times acting like she couldn't understand me (while speaking Spanish to someone else saying pretty unprofessional things ..haha I can understand you). She tells me pick up in 15. I get there and place is pretty quiet because it's a little before 6pm, she doesn't greet me or anything. I told her I was there for pick up and she grabs the bag and my card to ring up, hands me the receipt and doesn't say a word which was kinda awkward. I pay and leave, get home and open our meals..enchiladas look AMAZING! I open the second container (trio fajitas for two $27.50) and there is a much smaller portion and no tortillas. This was easily half the food of the single order of enchiladas?? I call them thinking it's an honest mistake and they have the second?? Serving and tortillas there. NOPE. All I got was a full on serving of attitude, no apology just more attitude. I worked retail and in a restaurant so i know ish happens and I'm being super nice about it...this woman on the phone was mind blowing. "You didn't order for two." Uhhh, yeah I did and you made me repeat it more than once while telling your coworker in Spanish I shouldn't order Mexican food if I can't order speak Spanish. I can't speak it, but I can understand it! Then when I asked if I could get the rest of our food she told me "Yes, if you pay for another order. You ordered one." I bring up their website and that yes, I paid for 2 and that is literally what I ordered. She responded with "Our website is wrong and that's not my problem." So I brought up the tortillas which she decided was not her fault and told me "They are in our kitchen, you can come get them." I asked to speak to the manager and she let me know I could do that when I come in. It was absolutely mind blowing! I have never had someone act like that. My 17 year old was jaw on floor listening to the entire thing because I was being really nice from the start while she was extremely rude starting when I called to order. Customer service is absolutely unacceptable. $47 and change for a single serving of fajitas and enchiladas wouldn't be a HUGE deal if that is what I ordered, but instead of getting what I ordered I got a an extra serving of attitude and getting trashed talked when she thought I couldn't understand her. Oh, I messaged them on Facebook and they read it immediately but didn't respond.

      Very good Mexican food.
I'll be honest and say I wasn't expecting amazing Mexican food out here but I was craving it and found this place as we were wandering around town. We came during lunch on a weekday. The restaurant decor is a flamboyant yellow and you can tell some areas like the bathroom have seen better days. But the service was perfectly paced and attentive.
You get the chips and salsa plus bean dip, yay! The salsa was very good, very fresh. The first basket of chips had been under the heat lamp a tad too long but the second batch was better.
I had the mole enchiladas, jalapeno margarita, and chicken fajitas.
The mole was great, nice and heavy, well balanced. The margarita tasted great but I think there may have been too much ice so didn't really get a kick out of it.
Overall the place was good and very happy to have tried it out! Thanks!

When in Rome ask a local where they go. So we ventured to Don Pedro's.

Many of you from California state nothing compares to Mexican like yours. Maybe not.

Well, here is the thing. My concerns are: good service, good food, good environment. Don Pedro's provides that and Martha was awesome!

It's not the best ever but im in The US and it's good. Huge servings, fresh, hot, flavorful and plentiful.

The pork in the burrito was tender. The verde sauce flavor with melted cheese was spot on, the Steak in the Carne dish was tender and flavored perfect.

Refried Beans were smooth and tasty.

I've never been a big fan of Mexican rice. Do this: add some of their fresh salsa and dashes of the hot sauce in bottles provided at the table. Perfect!

Chips were served right out of a warmer located in the dinning area.

Jalapeño margarita- ask for a rim of Tajin to spice it up. Their mix is more lime based than any sugary mix out there. Tasty.

      Enjoy

I love the food here. When I'm visiting St. George, I always try to come here to eat. The complimentary chips and salsa is delicious. The portions are huge and filling. The service has always been fast here. I also really love the atmosphere. Such a fun restaurant.

Went to dinner with family. The service and food were very good. I had the Pollo asada con mas, excellant flavor. Although I asked for corn tortillas, they brought flour.
The salsa was too mild for me so I asked for something Spicer and he brought something he said he made himself. It was devoured so fast we had to ask for more. My wife doesn't generally care for real spicy salsa but loved the flavor of this one. We'll definitely go back next time we're in the area.

I have been meaning to visit Don Pedro's for some time now. The food was just OK. Service started a little unfriendly but better towards the end. I loved that they bring you beans with the chips and salsa, that was very nice, however both the salsa and beans were not flavorful even a little boring.

I had the fajitas. The meat was fine, I did liked the grilled onions and peppers. Here again not as flavorful. My wife had some mole enchiladas, a little dry. I really had higher expectations for Don Pedros.

Ambiance is good, it is beautiful inside and certainly makes you think of Mexico.

Will I go back? Maybe. I really want this place to be better. Just a little more flavor please ( start with the salsa) . Maybe this was not a good night.

Wow, what a menu! It was hard to choose. loved the atmosphere and service. But the star of the show was the food for sure. We just moved to St. George and this has made it on my favorite list for sure!

In the 5 or 6 times I've been to St. George, this is the first time I've had real Mexican food that is truly good. No fake salsa or maybe enchilada sauce, it's all made fresh in house. I enjoyed my albondigas very much.
The service was great, our server Martha has been there for years.
The ambiance was pleasant and authentic Mexican decor.
