Located in the heart of Hell's Kitchen and Theatre District, Don Antonio is where pizza fans can find the best Neapolitan pizza in Midtown Manhattan. Open every day with a wood-fired oven imported from Italy, Don Antonio also offers a wide selection of craft Italian beers and a full bar with seasonal cocktails. Our highlights include a selection of pizze fritte (lightly fried pizza) such as the "Montanara", fried appetizers, and gluten-free pizza! Our daily menu is overseen by Giorgia Caporuscio, one of the few - if not the only - young female pizzaiola in the United States. Giorgia, as a daughter of art, is the recipient of countless awards and critical acclaim for their pizza-making skills.

Q:
Do they sell by the slice?
A:
no. they really want you to sit down at a table and run up a bill by getting pasta and wine, but the pies are small and can be be shared by 2 people.

This place is busy... they do move you right along though. Not a ton of space but they pack you in. The pizza doesn't have many of the traditional American toppings but you should find something that you enjoy . The toppings offered do taste fresh. The pizza comes out quickly as it is cooked in a hot oven. The crust is on the thinner side. Enjoy it...

I stopped in to grab a pie after a show on my way home and I have to say, it's some of the best and closest tasting pizza I've had to authentic Neapolitan pizza in Naples, Italy.
It was pricey, but I plan to go back.
The atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 17, 20241 check-in
Unfortunately, the pizzas here weren't nearly as good as they look in the photos. The pistachio one barely had any hint of pistachio at all, and both pizzas, plus the calzone, barely had any flavor to the sauce. The crust has a good flavor, but there wasn't enough flavor from the toppings to back it up, unfortunately.
The service was fair -- though it took several minutes for someone to take our order, the food came out fast, and we got our waters refilled a couple of times, but then had to wait a bit for the check.
There are definitely better pizza places out there in the city.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - H T.Staten Island, NY04530Mar 9, 20241 check-in
Food - This was the best Neapolitan pizza I've had. Gio's Marinara is fantastic.
I've tried 4 of their pizza's and overall they deserve a 8.9 rating. The dough used is absolutely phenomenal. Now I order at least twice a week. The pizza in Amalfi coast was not this good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 21, 20241 check-in
Don Antonio is on my top 3 favorite Napolitan pizza restaurants in NYC. The restaurant is not large but.....WOW..... they are ALWAYS busy. That includes the bar area, as well.
From the moment you are seated, you're receiving top notch service. Every single staff member, including our great server, Oscar, are working hard to keep you either hydrated, content, or making your dining experience comfortable.
The Arancini appetizer was very good. Two large rice balls, married with mozzarella and cooked Italian ham.
The Regina Margherita (tomato sauce, grape tomatoes, imported buffalo mozzarella, basil, and EVOO was... and is... on my top 3. Try it and you'll agree.
Come to Don Antonio. You'll enter hungry and leave as a fan.Helpful 12Thanks 4Love this 8Oh no 0 - Jan 6, 2024Updated review
My favorite spot in NYC for pizza!
Pros:
+ Incredible pizza - They have multiple styles including neopolitan
+ Fairly large servings - If you order the Naples, I would saw 2 pizzas and an app is more than enough food for 3 people
+ Montanarra pizzas - interesting combo. The crust is deep fried before the place it in the pizza oven. You have to try this if you haven't tried it before. It is pretty heavy, so maybe plan to share with a friend?
+ Great spot to visit right before a Broadway show
+ Michelin Bib Gourmand
Cons:
- Long wait - but can be worth the wait.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 10, 2022Previous reviewI absolutely love this place!
Pros:
+ Incredible pizza - I would not order anything else on the menu! It's like you just took a trip to Naples.
+ Montanarra pizzas - interesting combo. The crust is deep fried before the place it in the pizza oven. You have to try this if you haven't tried it before
+ Interesting rotations - Last time I was here, they made a Roman Holiday pizza with basically a salad on top. Absolutely sinful!
+ Great spot to visit right before a Broadway show
Cons:
- Can take a while to get a seat, but I promise you this place is worth the wait! - Apr 8, 2024
I had the montanara classica pizza. It was solid - basically just a regular pizza with fried dough. The crust was pretty chewy and there was plenty of cheese. I thought the frying ended up being a bit excessive, the pizza was pretty greasy. Overall, the pizza was just fine, nothing remarkable. It's a tad expensive at almost $22.

If you're looking to grab a quick bite before a Broadway that won't cost an arm and a leg and is actually pretty delicious, Don Antonio is your guy. Tucked away from the chaos of Times Square yet close enough to make it over to your show quickly after eating, Don Antonio fills the void of pre- and post- theater food that's affordable and also tastes great.
I've come here many times over the years before shows and the service is always prompt - they definitely cater to the theater crowd - but also doesn't feel rushed at all. A tough balance to strike.
The pizza offerings are a mix of the classics and a few unique offerings like their fried pizza, which is exactly what it sounds like. The Keste is my go-to favorite - tomato sauce with buffalo mozzarella topped with arugula, prosciutto and shaved pecorino romano. They don't take reservations, but even on busy nights I've never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes. Bonus points if you have someone with celiac or a gluten intolerance in your party - this place does gluten-free versions of all pizzas that taste like the real thing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 22, 2023Updated review
Solid, dependable pizza place with great Neapolitan, pizza, appetizers, and craft beers. Strategically located close to the Broadway district, the spot offers a lot of indoor and outdoor seating when the weather gets warm. Food service can be a bit slow sometimes but the pizza has delicious marinara sauce as a base.
A few options even include the Quattro Formaggi. The Caprese salad comes with true mozzarella di buffala cheese and tomatoes on the vine. They serve pizza with Nutella spread on top, a delicacy in many parts of italy and a treat not often found in Italian pizzeria restaurants in New York City.
I've been to this place several times in the past and will continue to come back due to its consistently high quality Italian food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Sep 30, 2020Previous reviewExtremely solid pizza place that serves Napolitano style individualized pizzas with authentic ingredients. Situated in an otherwise busy part of the west side, this spot offers both traditional and non-traditional options including pizza with roasted lemon & mozzarella cheese. While their crust is a bit too doughy for my taste, their delicious tasting marinara + mozzarella combination (even for the plain, pizza margherita version) will offer your tastebuds for a mini rollercoaster ride..
My favorite pizza was the "keste" pizza containing tomato sauce, imported Buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto di parma, arugula, gran cru pecorino, basil, and extra virgin olive oil. Another great pizza was the Sorrentina pizza - containing imported smoked buffalo mozzarella, sliced lemon, basil, and extra virgin olive oil. They were both scrumptious and ones I HIGHLY recommend you consider.
While there are plenty of authentic pizza places across NYC, this one is auspicious due to it's responsive waiter staff, range of pizza options, fair pricing and nature of it's ingredients. The tables are well situated around each other, cleverly away from traffic with sturdy "guardrails," and offering just the right amount of space so that you're not competing with plenty of other customers for placing/receiving orders. - K C.Irvine, CA158210Apr 16, 2024
I got the montanara classica as take out and it is the most delicious, unique pizza I've ever eaten! Service was efficient and polite. The crust is bubbly, crispy and light. The sauce and toppings are so tasty! I want to take this home to CA!
