Dollar General

I sent my two sons to the store to get a gift card andsome paper towels. They paid with cash but were told that they couldnt take or give out pennies so the cashier didnt give them the exact change but instead kept 4 cents of the change owed.

There's a younger male that works there & works at Lorenzo's in town. He asks every young female in there if they have a significant other, in other words, hits on them. It's very uncomfortable. I even tried avoiding his line when I went in and he went so far as to chasing me out to the parking lot. Very unprofessional. Very inappropriate. Very uncomfortable

The staff are polite. I like the changes they recently made to the store, but the prices on the things I buy there have significantly increased. I shop where I can get good deals, so I won't be going to DG as much as I have in the past.

Sometimes there are stores that you just can't resist the prices and this is one of them.

This store has about a little of anything and everything you could possibly need from food to health and beauty aids. It even had swimsuits. Beach towels, toys, housewares and garden supplies.

The selection of food isn't bad at all they carry some name brand items and the prices are really good, they have dairy, frozen foods, can goods, sundries, snacks and sodas.

The bottled water is always priced very good and they carry their brand and a name brand usually at a price lower than in a regular big box store.

My only reason I didn't give it 5* was the checkout counters are kind of awkward at the front of the store and it always has long lines to check out. The aisles are always lined with stocking carts which makes it hard to navigate.

Small town necessity ... the Dollar General. Thankful this store exists so close to our house! Friendly staff, great products, always busy but flows, stocked up, guests are in and out... woot woot! I am a big fan of their framed art work actually and always gotta grab a pack of the colored BIC pens. Great for picking up birthday cards, gift cards, wrapping paper.. make-up removers, safety pins... ya know, most anything! Today I couldn't resist this super cute CAT wedding card.. somebody needs to get married so I can give it away!

DO NOT buy these markers!! I bought some for my son and they were all dried up!
Too bad i didn't take the receipt or else I would've took it back to them.

Me and my mother were being rung up by a cashier named Moises he was extremely rude and sarcastic towards my mother, who's a regular at this store. We had a good amount of stuff ($100+ worth) we were buying. We tell him we want bags for everything. He starts to huff and puff about having to bag everything then begins to start with sarcastic comments like "by the time he's done it will be his break" which is not for another 30 mins. He ask for ID for NyQuil and my mother makes a joke like hey thanks for the compliment because she's elderly and who IDs for NyQuil?... Moises rudely tells her it wasn't a compliment take it how you want. Than as we are walking out he says "I can help the next customer...FINALLY " horrible customer service. I get having a bad day at work but the deliberate disrespect towards my mom was out of line.

The worst place! I got a package from FedEx delivered in the store in the first time I tried to pick up my package, according to someone who works in there my package never arrived. When I showed her the email with the confirmation and signature of the manager she's said the they delivered my package to someone else after several times to go to the store and talk with the same person without having any answer or solutions,making reports with FedEx. The manager finally admitted that they opened my package without reason! Seriously so dishonest persons.

Employees are in zero on getting off of the isles to help people in line..... THE ABSOLUTE WORST IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! I guess we don't go to dollar general for service????

This store has the worst customer service I've ever seen. I'm actually embarrassed for them. Every single time I go into this store, the queues are very long, and there's only one till open. That's the part that confuses me the most though, as there's ALWAYS more than one person working in there.

None of the employees can even be bothered to PRETEND they like their jobs. They wear a scowl all day long, refuse to greet anyone, and are often not even present at all. What's the point of opening your store if you don't even have someone tending it? There's one woman working there who is particularly terrible as far as retail workers go - she's a larger lady with short hair. If you're waiting in line, and you see her wandering around, don't hold your breath for her to open her register to eliminate the line. She's far too busy doing nothing. All the time. Even looking at you seems to be an inconvenience for her.

I'll sum it all up by saying I've managed some of the busiest stores in the country, and if anyone of these people worked for me, they would have been fired a very, VERY long time ago. It's worth driving to Vacaville to do you're shopping. At least there you aren't a problem to the people working where you're shopping. If there were more options for places to shop in Winters, I'm confident that the customer service of this establishment would put them out of business very quickly.
