Wolfgang Puck, one of the world's most famous chefs, introduces New Yorkers to his award-winning steak restaurant, CUT. After indulging guests at Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills (A Four Seasons Hotel) with his prime steaks and sides, Wolfgang Puck has opened his first restaurant in New York City. CUT by Wolfgang Puck will be the place where New Yorkers broker deals over power meals, and where Tribeca's residents come to dine, wine and unwind while world travellers immerse themselves in downtown NYC's emerging culinary scene. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in the lively and convivial atmosphere of CUT by Wolfgang Puck. Or sip Manhattans in the bar as you watch the bustling streets of lower Manhattan from your window view. With interior décor by cutting-edge French designer Jacques Garcia, CUT by Wolfgang Puck's ambience will be as sophisticated as its menu and extensive wine list. Downtown New York City-based STRATA is the interior architect and designer of this hotly-anticipated restaurant. With its own signage and entrance on Church Street alongside the Four Seasons Private Residences at 30 Park Place, CUT by Wolfgang Puck seats 86 for main-room dining and 32 in the lounge area, which includes 10 seats at the bar. Yes, definitely. Saw a table with 3 adults and a baby in the stroller. The parents certainly enjoyed themselves!

Amazing delicious steak! Cool ambience! I got the 18oz. Rib eye and it was so good. Only giving this place 3 stars because I went at lunch time and it wasn't busy at all yet my waiter didn't really check in to see if I needed anything. Slow service.

They use Creekstone (halal) steaks, except their Wagyu and filet mignon.

CUT Steak offers a top-tier dining experience for steak lovers. The steaks are perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, made from high-quality cuts of meat. The menu also features a variety of delicious sides and appetizers that complement the main courses well. The ambiance is upscale yet comfortable, making it great for special occasions or a night out.

A special shout-out to our amazing server, Danny, who made our evening even more memorable with her attentive and knowledgeable service. Her recommendations were spot on, and her friendly demeanor added a personal touch to our meal.

While it's on the pricier side, the exceptional food, atmosphere, and stellar service from staff like Danny make CUT Steak well worth it.

Overpriced, loud, lots of interference from wait staff at inopportune times. Steak Knives supplied were difficult to use on Wagu, aged beef and... chicken?

Aged beef not cooked to temperature order.

Main dish took a very long time during a not - so - busy time

Let me start by saying that this review does not reflect on the staff. They were very friendly, informative, and attentive. Everything you would want in service of a restaurant of this caliber. Otherwise, CUT is absolute bullshit.

I am a fan of a good steak, especially a dry aged steak done correctly. I frequent El Gaucho in the Pacific Northwest, which does a fantastic job making a tender flavorful dry aged steak. CUT on the other hand misses the mark on every level. Flavorless, boring, and CHEWY. I had to send my steak back because it was closer to a rubber dog chew than an actual steak. It was inedible and looked and tasted like a $5 steak you'd buy off the clearance rack. The rest of our tables steaks were okay, but mediocre at best. Guess the kitchen at CUT has never heard of salt before. As a group that frequents steak establishments, we all agreed that the only way someone could confuse CUT's steaks for good is if they had never been outside of NYC or to a real steakhouse before.

The stand out dish for the night was the lobster risotto. Maybe CUT should switch its business model to seafood. Also, there is a great wine selection. Otherwise, the cheese gougères were under baked and had a terrible aftertaste. The desserts, also very boring, included plain cheese cake with berry coulis and chocolate chip cookies that had the taste and texture of being grabbed right off the shelf at Walmart. Nothing to make the flavor pop. (See previous salt comment.) The desserts we received also looked nothing like the photos others have posted.

This might seem harsh as a review, but that is the purpose of yelp, to inform others. At these prices we should have left CUT raving, feeling wowed overall by the food and experience. Instead, we are left talking about how overpriced and disappointing it is. Honestly, eating here felt like we were served $20 food off a buffet table, but were charge premium prices. There are so many amazing culinary establishments to eat and experience in NYC. My advice would be to not fall for the hype associated with Wolfgang Puck's name and go somewhere else. Pass on CUT!

Everything was top notch from the starters to the main course -- the filet, fish, all good. The deserts were good too, however the Baked Alaska fell short. the room is beautiful and the service is excellent.

Back again for a business lunch, and they offer a lunch pre-fix menu for $50 pp.
I had the brussel sprout salad, the chefs cut steak , and a mango tapioca dessert. All perfectly cooked, seasoned and tasty! I highly recommend and ours a great low volume venue for relaxing lunches.

We came here on a freezing weekday evening. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by the refined, yet pleasantly subdued atmosphere. The decor was modern yet elegantly simple, with red curtains, velvet plush seating, and reasonable neon lighting. The restaurant was cold, especially being seated near the windows.

The service was good but with some slight hurdles. It took a long time for staff to approach our table, the service seemed rushed and staff was rather disinterested in providing us with a positive dining experience. Pretty aloof and unrehearsed.

We ordered the oysters (4/5) it was quite standard. The caesar salad (4.5/5) was great, it was seasoned well. The dry aged ribeye (4/5) was amazing. It was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, succulent and well seasoned. The sear on the steak was perfection, and the dry age process gave it a deeper, meaty flavor. The fries (3/5) were a tad bit dry. Brussel sprouts (3/5) needs more caramelization and seasoning. Toffee pudding (1/5) was disappointment on a plate, its presentation was lousy. The pudding was dry and the flavors don't work together.

It was a decent dining experience, but it's more of a one time occasion. I would still recommend to try any other good steakhouse in the city, like Smith & Wollensky, Keens, or Peter Luger. These places have better steaks and better value for your money.

Trendy restaurant, I was excited to try this place out on a Saturday night. We got there around 8:40pm for the 8:45pm reservation and were seated around 10-15min later. We had a group of ten.

I felt like the service was pretty slow. We sat down around 9pm and we didn't get our food till 10:50pm. We got apps and drinks as well in between. I am thinking it is because we had a larger group so it took longer but to wait 2 hours for an entree seemed kind of long. I got the new york sirloin and it was kind of burnt outside so it was really chewy. I wasn't very impressed especially at this kind of price point. We also got fries and creamed spinach on the side to share. Nothing to rave about. I was also confused by the creamed spinach because it was just blanched spinach. There wasn't any flavor and no cream to be found.

I did like the tuna tartare and butter lettuce salad that we got for apps.

The whole meal ended around 12am. Overall I feel like the steak could have been cooked better since this place isn't cheap.

We came to celebrate my birthday & my wife's award for "The Whale". The atmosphere is really quite beautiful with magnificent floral arrangements all around & dramatic spotlights for each table. The service was impeccable throughout.

We enjoyed the fresh oysters, the perfectly sized burrata & pear salad followed by the wet aged ribeye mid rare with sautéed spinach on the side. The steak was thinner than we expected (1/2" -3/4" or so?) for a 19 ounce bone in rib-eye.

We finished with the red berry & citrus swirl and the Black Forest sphere and a glass of 10 year port. The desserts were gorgeous! Delicious too!!! They celebrated our day with 6 beignets with chocolate sauce.

I highly recommend a visit & I only withheld the final star because the price points are SO high.

Not quite the experience I had been hoping for when we stopped by for lunch. We had ordered the prix fixe menu and I settled on the chilled asparagus soup, salmon, and chocolate cake.

The best item was the soup; I could've just easily enjoyed a vat of this and would be fine. Well, I would be bloated beyond recognition but you get the gist. The taste was absolute perfection, high marks all around for this unassuming dish!

The salmon was a complete confusion. To start things, there was an obscene amount of ginger that came with it. It wasn't the sweet pickled kind, nor was it from a young root, but a hill of fibrous, old/spicy ginger that I left aside thinking it's purely for decoration. No way would it be a tossing ingredient for the salmon, it was comedically ridiculous with the quantity and flavor. And the entree itself came out resembling a set lunch you would get at the Korean market. It looked like a bibimbap sans "bap".

And the dessert was decent. It's not the best chocolate cake I've ever had but definitely not the worst. I preferred the other dessert option over mine, but it really was just a hair better in terms of flavor.

Also, this may be uncontrollable or just plain not doable but when I opened the bathroom door to leave, another patron tried to come in at the same time so she almost just shoved me back into the loo while I was stunned how rude this diner can be. Guess you can dress to dine fancy but you definitely can't hide the obnoxious.
