Today I celebrated my birthday at this restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised!
As a person very involved in the Arabic community for over 25 years, putting together events and knowing master dance teachers from Egypt/ Spain/ Turkey and all over the USA, I can categorically say that I had the best Turkish meal since I moved to NC.
Constantine's is classy, elegant, beautifully decorated, you even get real tableware, real utensils and white real tablecloth and red napkins for lunch!.
The food is of amazing quality, freshness, flavorful, very well presented, a pleasure to to eye and palette, with courteous excellent service, taking care of details without hovering. The prices are reasonable on top of all the rest.
Reservations are recommended if you like to take the opportunity to judge and review this place after you try it.
I will be back again and again without a doubtHelpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jenny L.Matthews, NC792824Apr 2, 2024
Worth the drive! We traveled 40 minutes to try a new restaurant in Gastonia and were blown away by the experience. Hussein was our waiter and he made our first experience worth a trip back. He was attentive, friendly and accommodated any requests we made. The atmosphere was fun and vibrant. Several tv screens had a loop that showed beautiful scenes of Turkey and we had a ball trying on the different costumes after dinner. Hussein even read our fortune in the bottoms of the Turkish coffee cups. Who knew there was an app for this?
The food was outstanding! We ordered appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts. For appetizers we tried Moonshine Pastry, Imam Bayildi, Saganaki & Mixed MezeThey brought two large portions of bread, butter candles and olives for the table. We enjoyed trying the different appetizers with the bread. Everyone loved the Carrot Tarator dip.
We shared a few entrees too. Two Pottery Kebabs (one beef & one chicken). The meat & vegetables are cooked inside a clay vessel and served table side from a flaming platter! This was impressive and delicious! The Beef Ribs were fall off the bone tender and flavorful. Two people ordered the Ali Nazek Kebab and thoroughly enjoyed them. We ordered Lemon Cheesecake, Molten Chocolate Cake and Baklava. I can't believe we ate so much food, but we enjoyed ourselves for at least 3 hours!
When we go back, we all decided we need to try the Turkish Pides which are their pizzas.
If you are nervous to try different dishes, don't worry. They have plenty of international dishes like pasta, steak, & chicken. There's something for everyone.
This is a great place for groups because the more people you have, the more different dishes you get to try. They take reservations and have plenty of additional parking behind the restaurant.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 109618142May 4, 2024
The food here was very good. I had the grilled meatballs which was gilled minced beef and lamb with special Turkish kofta spice served with Turkish rice, grilled tomatoes, peppers and fried tomato. It was very delicious. The meal came with this bread that looked like a balloon. It was good. The service was good. The ambience was nice.

Should be 7 or 8 stars!, started with ecili ezmae and it was fabulous, the bread along with, was also fabulous, it also came with the best olives... yum!...
For dinner we had the clay pot(chicken) and it was quite a show and, yes, once again, fabulous!...perfect amount of spices, everything cooked perfectly, and finished with a Turkish coffee (think very strong espresso)
And very good.
Place is very nice, service was great.
I recommend & I will surely return.Helpful 3Thanks 3Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mar 10, 2024
Today, on a whim, we decided to go to Constantine's Restaurant (where Booja used to be).
I must add that I am truly glad we did.
We were seated, and Ruben, one of the partners/owners (I hope I spelled it correctly), and Ayup attended to us. The menu is extensive, so it took some time to look it over.
To begin, the ambiance is so pleasant. It is rare to find a restaurant with white tablecloths and red cloth napkins, especially in this area. The music in the background is a nice addition as well.
We started with the MOONSHINE PASTRY (BALLI BÖREK), which was absolutely delicious. I could easily eat four more of them. The honey served with them is also a nice touch. Along with the pastry, we were also served the Lavash along with a butter candle (to be fair, we didn't realize this at first so try it out and enjoy it with the Lavash)
I had the pleasure of enjoying the SULTAN STUFFED CHICKEN (SULTAN TAVUK SARMA). The saffron sauce used to top the chicken was delectable, to say the least. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the spinach in the stuffed chicken and was pleased that the mushrooms did not overpower the taste of the other ingredients. Mushrooms can sometimes be overpowering when used excessively in a dish.
My husband had the pleasure of enjoying the RIBEYE STEAK (ANTÄ°KROT). It was one of the best steaks we have ever tried. One minor query I have is that it was asked to be cooked medium, but it was medium rare. My husband isn't too fond of it like that, but I never mind a perfect steak medium rare. He still enjoyed it, though, with no problems. I tasted the Turkish rice, and we swapped my potatoes for his rice Hehe.
I became so obsessed with the rice that I asked for a side of it to take home.
The food was so good that we finished our meals completely.
Onto the desert...
I am someone who, if a place has coffee that I can enjoy at the end, I definitely indulge myself in a cup. Turkish coffee is not for the weak. If you don't like a truly bold cup of Joe, this isn't for you. But I truly enjoyed it.
Last but not least, for our dinner, we shared the CHOCOLATE SOUFFLÉ (ÇİKOLATALI SUFLE). My husband enjoyed the fruit and ice cream; my favorite was definitely the yummy SOUFFLÉ. I like dark chocolate , so a purer cacao for me is truly appreciated.
To add to our experience, it was a lovely evening filled with amazing food, great music , and a romantic and elegant ambiance.
This is a perfect restaurant for a date. It is not one of those places where you think you would spend a small amount, but for quality, you have to pay, so please keep that in mind. Also, my review is based on my taste buds and what I like; you may not enjoy it as much as I did. I am what you call a catadora and enjoy new foods all the time. I like to get out of my comfort zone. This is a restaurant I will definitely return to.
I would like to thank Ayup and Ruben again for the amazing service they provided.
I also took the liberty of adding the menu to my review.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yari D.San Francisco, CA1208Apr 27, 2024
This place is overpriced and the quantities are to
say the least small. We asked for beef with sides and we got 3 fries and a small cup of rice. Plus the waiters seemed entitled and were rude. This place has potential but they need to work on their portions and prices.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - KJ O.Mooresville, NC041May 5, 2024
The service hit rock bottom from the start. We dealt with two servers during our visit, one of whom was the owner, and each encounter was worse than the last. Their demeanor was unprofessional and their attempts at humor were crude and offensive, not what you would expect at what claims to be a refined establishment.
Regarding the food, calling it a disappointment would be an understatement. It reminded me more of cheap street food than the authentic Turkish meal I was anticipating. The menu, which looked more like a takeaway flyer from a budget diner, was our first warning sign we foolishly ignored. The only aspect worth mentioning was the fresh bread, which was decent but couldn't salvage the overall dismal dining experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris I.Concord, NC242459Feb 18, 2024
We had such a wonderful dinner at Constantine's! The service was spectacular and the ambiance is tranquil and warming. It is elegant yet relaxingly casual. I've been to a number of Mediterranean restaurants in the Charlotte area, but none compare to the experience here.
The food is really, really delicious! Though I am not Turkish nor an expert on this cuisine, I feel confident in saying this is the most authentic restaurant of its kind you will find in the area. Everything is super fresh, excellent quality and cooked perfectly at a phenomenal, affordable price to boot. You won't find foods overloaded with salt, seasonings or condiments here. They're simply not needed because the ingredients are just that good.
Come and give it a try! I'm sure you'll be back for more, just like my family and friends.
Be sure to make a reservation with OpenTable or by calling before coming to the restaurant for dinner to make sure there is a table available for your party.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1
