5 star for us! The location was great for many different shops, restaurants, and easy access to the highway for travel. Stayed 2 nights over the weekend for local sporting events and couldn't have been more pleased. I wasn't expecting much based on reviews, but I have to say it definitely was different.
Staff from the time we walked in was pleasant and friendly. Pleasant and cheerful greeting each time they saw us. Helpful with local area recommendations as well.
Rooms were clean, and staff was accommodating whe. We thought the TV didn't work (just needed reset) or extra blankets and towels.
Breakfast was to be served at 7, and it was hot and ready. Thankfully, since we were headed out just at that time for our event. Hot eggs, bacon, and waffles were perfect.
Definitely recommend it and would stay here again.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Jan 27, 2024Previous review5 star for us! Pros: budget friendly, nice friendly staff, water pressure amazing, convenient location to many attractions, appears clean, bathroom does have an exhaust fan so it doesn't get steamy, comfy beds, the mini fridge in our room definitely keeps things cold.
Cons: it is an old hotel so rooms need updated ie carpet and curtains esp, no places to hang towels in bathroom, small bathroom, TV remote takes some getting use to, slow sketchy elevator, EXtremely bad coffee reminds me of instant or from the tv show Green Acres, hard to find at first as it sits behind a taller corporate building and not on the main road so look for 12300 address. Other things to note: breakfast is pretty normal. Probably deserves more than 3 stars but can't really give 4 stars. And don't confuse this comfort inn with the other one on the same road.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shar H.San Francisco, CA0135293Mar 7, 2023
Great stay. Had to give 4 stars because the black curtains did no blocking at all and as a night worker who needs to sleep during the day this is big. Also the bathroom was just TIGHT! The supervisor Dior was great and found a room for me at 10am. The location is across the street from a great mall and has a pretty fountain at back. Would stay again

The customer service is excellent. The patrons, not so much. The first night was relatively quiet, but this is more of a contractors hotel. Lots of workers in here and a lot of people that like to smoke weed. I am not a hater, but I have restrictions so I can't be around it so if you're in the same situation, pick a different hotel. The staff don't care at all. This second floor smells like Cypress Hills song, "I wanna get high."
Its wafting into my bathroom vents. Its in the elevators. So if you're family oriented, pick another place if this is not what you want your kids exposed to. I am on the 2nd floor and everyone is banging their doors, closing them hard and keeping me awake when I have to work at 4AM. Its now 11pm and its been non stop for the past hour.
This is a great location with food, mall, etc nearby but I would not stay here again based on the noise and smell. But if its something you do, hey, this is a hotel for you! Lol.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Linda B.Chester, VA012Jul 9, 2023
Stayed this weekend and the Staff was great. Room was clean. The water pressure was low but it worked fine for me. The breakfast was beer gods and the young lady in there was very very friendly. Would stay here again.

First, the address is on Jefferson St, hotel is not visible fron the street and there us no sign on Jefferson St for the hotel, it is across from the John Henry Mall , turn off of Jefferson Street at American way, at the Dillard's sign
Hotel was ok, you can hear traffic noise from I-64, it would be quieter in rooms at the front of the hotel not facing the highway
There were not enough electrical outlets in the room had to unplug lamp to plug in coffee maker, television had two remotes one for TV and one for cable box, and both were needed to watch TV awkward to use. Plenty of dining and shopping close by. Close to Newport News airport. Hotel serves breakfast it was satisfactory. Hotel has outdoor pool
Ample parking and truck and trailers can park in back parking lot. Clean but had to request staff to clean and supply clean towels.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anna L.Newport News, VA02Sep 18, 2023

My double amputee husband and service dog (from a legit, internationally accredited organization) walk in at 10:00pm to check-in after a 14 hour trip.
Woman at the desk says she needs to see service dog documentation. My husband informs her that there is no such thing. She proceeds to get a document envelope and dump it out showing him "service dog documentation". Again, there is no such thing. He comes out and proceeds to call corporate and they say "we understand it's wrong but there's nothing we can do about it." I go in and show her the ADA website and where it says that you can't ask for documentation. You can only ask two questions, "is that a service dog," and "what service does it provide." She snaps back with a very "smart" "okay." I asked if we're good and she replies that we can only stay there if we understand that we can't have an accessible room because dogs are only allowed on a certain floor (of the pet free hotel?!?) Again, my husband doesn't have any legs. They got blown off by and IED in Iraq. "Well, we can't allow dogs on other floors." We have to have an accessible room and he's not a pet, he's a service dog. "We can't do that." After fighting for an hour, we said we will contact the Department of Justice and go elsewhere. We were already exhausted and tired.

Terrible service!! The time I checked in here the girl that checked me in was EXTREMELY rude and combative! I wanted to speak to management about this, but management/ owner had absolutely no desire to hear my complaint!! I checked right back out without staying there. I'm a diamond member with choice hotels.

I'm still at the hotel and had to write my review before I leave and forget. I was also concerned because of the reviews but I got it for a great price on hotwire. Lobby is nice when you walk in. Room and bathroom are clean. Halls smell good, refreshing. Staff is friendly. It was late and we ordered a pizza from room service for $22 and it was HUGE. Staff is friendly but what I loved most was that check out is before 12pm! Breakfast is included and the lady who was working this morning was hauling a$$! She was making sure food was always there, emptying out the trash, asking people if they needed anything, we even had a short conversation and she was focused on what she needed to get done. I would stay here again.

I wish there was a negative 5 start rating. I had a confirmed reservation with credit card. I called the front desk to let them know I would be checking in late and they still gave my room away. The manager told me I was shit out of luck because they were out of rooms. Called customer service and got the run around. I WAS a platinum member. Fuck you choice!
