About the Business
Red Sauce Joint of Your Dreams Red checkered linens, drippy wax candles, the sound of Mario Lanza, Connie Francis, and Elvis, yes Elvis crooning in the background. Generous portions of your favorite American Italian dishes served with a side of pasta in a rustic marinara with enough garlicky, buttery, perfectly crunchy bread to soak it all up and a cheap, but solid Sangiovese to wash it all down. What a lovely place with wonderful home made Italian food!
The hostess Maria was so friendly and accommodating. Our waitress, Kayla was friendly, informative and provided excellent service!
The food was excellently prepared! The delicious calamari appetizer was hot and crispy and different than anything we'd ever had! The entrees were all delicious...and the pasta was perfectly cooked! The cocktails were perfect and refreshing for a beautiful spring evening! The portions are HUGE and easily sharable!
We had a lovely dinner!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 7, 2023
We were staying in the neighborhood and decided to finally try some of the local places. I mean who doesn't love a neighborhood pasta restaurant.
And the verdict: not too shabby. We had several varieties and they were all at least decent. Also had a couple of cocktails which were, similarly, quite decent.
Overall, a very decent, tasty neighborhood spot. If you're in the area, definitely give them a try.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kayla W.East Memphis, Memphis, TN3418Apr 25, 2024
Best Italian in Memphis. Service is always amazing and food is SO consistently delicious. Ambiance feels like you're in another city.

Been here a couple of times & like it very much. Have tried numerous menu items & some cocktails. Some dishes were excellent & some very good but all were enjoyable. Especially like the Caesar salad & Chicken Marsala. Only thing didn't care for was the olive oil martini. Love the casual atmosphere & great, friendly service. Will be regulars -good food, excellent service, reasonable prices without the fussy atmosphere.

My girlfriends decided to spend our ladies' night at Cocozza for Downtown Dining Week. One friend ordered an antipasto appetizer to get us started and the flavors were very tasty as they ranged from salty to spicy. The appetizer that was part of the prix fixe menu had a nice warm sauce and tangy flavors with an ample amount of mushrooms and sausage. I was impressed by the presentation of the eggplant rollatini and even more so about the texture and filling. The pumpkin cannoli was a great way to tie together the whole meal. The cream filling was just the right balance of sweet to pair with the pastry. Additionally, the lemon spritzer was refreshing and effervescent with the right combination of punch and tang. The service was good and we never had to wait long to have a need met.

As usual, this place is killing it. I have to check in from time to time
Food, amazing, service is still going strong! Really happy this place came to the area.. we needed something to spice up the Island some and cocozzas and their pencil points.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 17, 2023Previous reviewOh my Gosh, I was enjoying the food so much that I forgot to take pictures of my food, all 5 times I've eaten here. I promise to go back just to order more and take pics.. lol
Where to begin? The FOOD: the food is really really good.. red sauce is top notch, authentic. The Cesar salad, nailed it with the perfect dressing. Mucho love to the Cesar... which btw, (note to management) the salads could be bigger, service was top notch once seated. This is a small space and it fills up fast. They do have a bar in the back with great drinks..drinks are small but they make them strong! The place has a great vibe, almost like a speak easy.
Start with the calamari, Garlic cheese bread-amazing! So far, the chicken Marsala and piccata chicken have been my favorite. I have also had their filet and it was superb & cooked to perfection! The husband reports that the lasagna and meatballs are amazing and he loved their Parmesan muscles. It's a little pricey but it's worth it. - Abby A.Harbor Town, Memphis, TN35793Mar 11, 2024
Our favorite easy dinner spot. Recently had the mussels special and it was fabulous. Cheesy bread and the vodka rigatoni add sausage always hits the spot. Bar service (Andy especially) is always great. Great for a date night or dinner with a group.

We had one night in Memphis and came here on a Friday night for dinner after finding a post on Instagram. We made sure to make a reservation though and I'm glad we did because it was packed! There's not a great deal of seating but you're sitting pretty close to other people as I imagine it would be at an actual Italian restaurant in Italy. The server was great and made sure we got any questions answered about the menu. We ordered calamari to start and it was delicious. I loved it with the white sauce it came with. As my entree, I ordered the baked lasagna and then ordered garlic bread because there was so much delicious marinara sauce that came on the plate that I didn't want to leave any of it behind! The baked lasagna was absolutely delicious, all the flavors were there. I highly recommend. My partner got the veal Parmesan and it was great but it was not the baked lasagna!

Happy hour is pretty decent. Ravioli was really good. The staff is attentive as well. Looking forward to trying one of the main dishes. The inside is really cute. Right on theme, not that big on the inside but I like what they did with the size. Cute bar on the island.

The restaurant has a really cute ambiance. It's decorated to feel old school but is really cute and cozy.
Our server, Mackenzie, was really great. She was friendly and helpful.
Food was divine. We got the toasted ravioli, lemon basil spirit free drinks, chicken Marsala, rigatoni with vodka sauce, and Caesar salad. I originally ordered the sausage rigatoni, and it was not to my taste. It had a pile of broccoli rabe that permeated every bite. If you like broccoli rabe, you'd love it, but I don't. The manager was super understanding and got me something else - the rigatoni with vodka sauce - very quickly. That dish was delicious; the sauce was similar to an arrabiatta and had quite a bit of spice. It was delicious and creamy and I highly recommend it. My mom loved her chicken Marsala and the side of pasta it came with had delicious red sauce. The lemon basil drink was refreshing and extremely basil-heavy. The Caesar salad was delightfully crisp and lemony. I only wish they offered the toasted ravioli in a larger portion; it was decadent.
I don't live anywhere near here, but if I did, I'd be back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
