512240Mar 18, 2023Donuts here are fresh and delicious. It's a no frills spot that's all about the food. Lines early in the morning but they get you in and out quickly - the only thing that might slow you down is having to make a choice from all the amazing options. Their croissant sandos are also solid if you crave something savory.

This is my 2nd day in Louisville and it's donuts from a 2nd donut shop. I've had donuts from the Clifton Donut Shop during previous visits to Louisville, especially when my kids lived closer to this shop than they do now.
"Old Fashioned" (a type of donut as opposed to a style of donut)) from Clifton are exceptional, as as most of their other donuts.

I'm a confirmed donut junkie and love fresh baked donuts. The Clifton Donut Shop is a small family owned business. The owner and his parents are generally working in the shop. This is a donut shop and not a full-service bakery -- sort of a hi-end, quality version of Dunkin Donuts. They do one thing - DONUTS - and they do them very well. I was in Louisville visiting family when my son suggested a visit to the Clifton Donut Shop. I was very impressed with the friendly service and the exceptionally good donuts. We had coffee and donuts in the shop and took some with us for later.

This is a must eat situation. I can't roll by Clifton and not stop. They have it all, from sandwiches to fresh handmade doughnuts, fresh daily at 5:30am. Yum!!!!!!!

Dropped by on a walk around the neighborhood. Not much selection left after noon, but still enjoyed our choices.
I started with the cream cheese filled... It's basically cheesecake in donught form and a must try.
Next I moved on to strawberry cake. A dollop of whipped cream would be a nice addition, but still yummy on its own.
DH started with a cinnamon twist, which was good and classic... Nice and soft. He moved onto raspberry filled next, again soft with a nice flavor.
Cashier was friendly and if you do come late, you might get an extra treat!
$5 card minimum or pay an extra 25 cents.

This place is so delicious! I ended up getting a croissant breakfast sandwich and a maple cake donut. Both were delicious! The croissant was flaky and delicious and the egg was fresh. The cake doughnut melted in my mouth. I recommend this place to anyone and advise getting there early for the best selection!

I ordered one maple cake doughnut. It was delicious! I will definitely be stopping by earlier to get some more doughbuts before they are gone.
The shop is very cute. There were a couple tables and chairs for people to sit. There is a one way parking lot with about 5 spaces and I didn't have any issues parking. - Jun 1, 2020
I really enjoy Clifton Donut Shop doughnuts! I've never been in to the store, but I have had these at my office several times (thanks to my awesome co-workers) and they've always been delicious!
Clifton Donut Shop offers a great selection of different types of doughnuts and toppings, which I really appreciate. I don't really have a favorite type of doughnut, so I'm always in the mood for something different or to try something new-to-me, so I love seeing a couple dozen of these doughnuts on the counter!

One of the best donut places in town! I'm lucky that it's just a few blocks from my house. I love the apple fritters and tronuts! But my favorite is the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches on a croissant. The croissant is always so fresh, flakey, and buttery. And I love that they use real eggs and not the weird microwave eggs. The prices are very fair and the customer service is great.
