Chester Creek Books and Antiques

I've been going here almost since the store opened in the old church 18 years ago. It's an enjoyable and highly anticipated stop on our way to the North Shore. While the books are organized into categories, be aware that there can be more than one section on the same topic in different parts of the store, possibly a reflection of different collections purchased by the owners at various times. So, for example, there are two separate natural history areas in two different rooms in the basement. I would give it 5 stars except that, at least in my own topics of interest, there's rarely any fresh stock, it's largely the books I saw on my first visit years ago--but that's probably also why the prices seem very reasonable. We do still find the occasional buried gem, and find other things, like antiques, to interest us, so it's worth stopping by!

Oh my gosh--what a fabulous place. The selection of used books is AMAZING. Very well-organized and deep in numerous subject areas. Would rival many libraries I've been to! Lots of great antiques mixed in, and the setting in the old church is really unique and lovely. My husband found so many books to add to his collection...and we could have spent many, many more hours scouring the many rooms. The entire building is just filled with quality used books. We will return as often as possible and look forward to bringing others with us! The owner was extremely helpful and really should be proud of this remarkable business.
