Charm Thai

My first experience and I had the drunken noodles. I asked for spicy and it was actually quite spicy! This is appreciated, because most places will not turn up the heat for fear of having to remake the food if it's too spicy. Overall, the dish was not over salted and had a rich umami. The red peppers were crisp and sweet and the scallions were fresh and on point the chicken was tender and delicious. I look forward to trying additional items on the menu highly recommend.

Average Thia. Waitress was nice with above average service for these days. Pad Thai with beef was average, beef was lean (+), and the overall dish was not overly flavorful (no taste of each ingredient. Got Thai hot(highest on menu). Was spicy, not eye watering, but sufficient. Ambiance is that of a small café with outside and inside seating. Has a full bar.

Got doordash.

Eggplant with mixed veggies had a great spice level flavor. Tofu drunken noodles was sautéed well and delicious.

Still tasty! The Pad Thai lunch special is an affordable indulgence. Drunken noodles are so good.

We looked at the reviews before coming here and notice such a mix. So we decided to just go for it and make our own judgement since we were in the area and walked by it a lot. I really wanted to like it, and maybe they were having an off day? But here's my review:

1) drinks: ordered 2 pineapple juice (I like juice ok lol)...let's just say it tasted really funky. Like it was spoiled and they added club soda to it. So then it tasted like Kombucha. I gave it a 0 stars.

2) fried eggs rolls- it was crispy. But the fillings were soggy and had no flavor. Gave it a 2 star.

3) pad Thai- it was ok. The tofu tasted a bit off and too spongy. The flavor was mediocre but not bad at the same time. 3 stars

4) venue- there were a lot of cob webs. I really don't like spiders but there were just too many webs. 2 stars

5) staff- there was only 1 waiter who was nice and he had to be the bartender as well. So I give his service a 4 stars.

So if I average that out, it's basically a 2 star place from my experience. I hope things improve and for them to do well. But like I said, maybe it's an off day. Who knows.

This place is an absolute hidden gem! Unfortunately all of the other reviews seem subpar, however, our experience has been nothing but astounding. The service is excellent with the kind waitress. The spiked Thai tea is a must have as well as the papaya salad and curries. My family and I visited twice within 2 days it was so good! Everything cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. Please stop by if you are in the DC area!
P.S. the chef's wife makes a homemade coconut ice cream that is a must try!

Got horrible food poisoning after eating the vegetable + tofu Massaman Curry from here! Would not recommend.

I went on a Friday afternoon about 1 PM to have lunch with a friend. I was surprised at how empty the restaurant was for that time of day and day of the week. Not necessarily a good sign. Parking was relatively easy to find also, which was great.

Given that there was only one other patron in the restaurant we received prompt service.

I ordered the pads for you which is what I get regularly. When I go to TY Thai restaurants. I asked for extra broccoli.

The portion size was OK, I was surprised that it was not the Asian broccoli I typically get with this dish. The flavor was decent, but the noodles were slightly overdone.

It was a decent meal, but I don't know that I would recommend the place or return again.

Soooooo good! Pad Thai, kapow , all the things were so good here!! We so appreciate some good Thai comfort food.

The service was awesome. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken. The food came out fast and was great! I definitely recommend to come here for a meal and will be sure to come back again!
