Catfish Hole Alma

Great food. It was so good to be able to go back after their hiatus/closure for a few weeks.

The service was slow (we were there on the 3rd day back operating). We waited an hour from when we were seated until food was delivered to the table (not the set up as it was immediate - I'm talking about the main course).

The air conditioning was not functioning properly in the main room.

I'm sure these are all operational hiccups that will be ironed out - and the food itself is great.

We are rooting for them for sure. We will wait awhile to come back and see if they can get the kinks worked out.

I am hopeful they will and grateful they are open again - thanks to the couple who opened/is operating it and best of luck to y'all!

We still enjoy eating here. The server staff are quick to refill the hush puppies, other fixins, and drinks. We stopped in on our way back from a camping trip in Eureka Springs to back home.. it's a detour but worth it.
Everything on the menu is pretty good. They are usually busy during the dinner times and weekends, so try to beat the dinner rush. From what we order is a range from the grilled chicken to crab legs.. Fried shrimp, fried chicken fillets, and steaks are good too. I do recommend trying the hush puppies and beans. They will make sure you leave here satisfied, and an offer of a to-go box too.

The fixins was great, service was good but the catfish was overcooked and the froglegs were overcooked, won't be back. We was their 5/3/24 in the evening

First time in YEARS we have eaten here. We were here on their second day of opening this location and remember the old house. Moved away... then moved back and was finally here at supper time.

The dining area is clean and well lit. Comfortable seating. It's a bit loud as everyone visits and enjoys their food.

ALL our food came out fresh and hot. It was cooked perfectly and delicious. Our sides were never empty. Our drinks stayed full. We had the catfish fillets and fried clams and both were right on the money.

Very pleasant experience.

This has been a local restaurant for many years here in Alma, Arkansas! The staff are locals that put their own heart and souls into the food, service, and atmosphere of this restaurant! If one ever meanders this way, say heading to a Hogs football game, one should stop and experience this excellent food!

Delicious food and will definitely come here again. Catfish was fresh and fried to perfection!

Very good Catfish place in Alma. Quite busy on Friday night but it's pretty big and the wait wasn't too long.

One of a few places that does Catfish steaks with bones and all. My wife loves it served this way and thought it was delicious.

The catfish fillets were excellent as were the shrimp. Cornmeal coating is crispy and the fish is flaky and tasty. Sides and hush puppies were all delicious.

Only negative is the tartar sauce. It's a sweet relish base with Miracle whip. Way too sweet. Not a fan but it's really just a matter of preference. I prefer simple onion, pickle and real Mayo.

The Apple cobbler was delicious. Very well done.

Service was prompt and friendly.

The restaurant was clean upon entering. The booth bench seats were torn and tattered as mentioned on other reviews, but overall the atmosphere was warm. The server was friendly and working hard - she was even breaking a sweat. There was a delay in ordering and getting drinks as the 1 waitress seemed to be covering the whole restaurant. She apologized and got us extra hush puppies. The food was excellent- the price was appropriate for shrimp and catfish. Only thing keeping from 5 stars is that they were understaffed. Give that waitress a raise!

This was our first visit to the restaurant in over 10 years. The first impression was the building outside was poorly maintained, and the inside even worse. The booth seat had wore out spots bigger than my backside...The hush puppies were hot and best part of the meal. The catfish filets were very thin are greatly over cooked. The waitress reduced the price after we addressed the overcooked fish. The service was best part of the visit to Catfish Hole in Alma.
I doubt we'll ever come back to this restaurant!

I visited here because it was a favorite place of my mom. The catfish was good and flaky. The baked potato was a bit small, undercooked and only served with butter and sour cream. Our order took more than 45 minutes to arrive at our table so don't go here if you only have an hour for lunch. The place was not terribly busy. Maybe this was just an off day, and our server seemed a bit stressed. I might try this again and see if things are different.
