Owner was rude and went to great lengths to tell me why dogs had a bad rep in his park. If you have dogs avoid this park.

The manger/owner (not sure which one) was extremely accommodating for our stay. We initially missed our reservation by miscalculating the time it would take to arrive at the campground on our cross country road trip. After informing the KOA manager that we wouldn't be able to make it, he offered for us to come back any time to honor our reservation/payment at any time. Well, true to his word, after two weeks, on our way back we called up the office and he told us no problem. Highly recommend this campground, not just for the customer service, but there are plenty of amenities like horse shoes, firewood, and clean bathrooms and showers!

Beautiful KOA in Casey, Illinois. Can't quite give it five stars because it needs a couple little upgrades on the Wi-Fi is really slow but otherwise this is a beautiful campground to stay at

Hi Scott, we appreciate the positive review and the great photos! Our team here at Casey KOA is happy to hear you had a great stay at our campground. Our WiFi tends to run slower as more people are connected but we are grateful for your feedback. We hope you visit us again! Take care.

We checked in after 2pm for our 2 day stay. The female owner was cheerful and helpful. Gave us cookies along with maps and info on the Big Things to see in town. Repeated all the rules, particularly regarding dogs. They're not really dog friendly. More like dog tolerant. The campground has lots of trees and shade, and sites were fairly level. So they get a star for that. This was the 105th park we've stayed at in 2 yrs of fulltime rving and the absolute worst one in terms of customer service.
The old man in the golf cart guided us into our site at a sharp angle instead of parallel to the pedestal. He didn't wait to check that we were okay with it, and quickly drove off. It became obvious after he left that (1) the door to our wet bay would hit the pedestal when we opened it and (2) we were way too far from the sewer. The park was still 75% empty and no one else had driven in or out during this time so we decided to straighten our coach by going around again.
Well, the old man quickly drove back as we were doing that and went into a ballistic rant about how we shouldn't go around without asking first. Then he drove off in a hissy fit and sent his helper or assistant to rant at us some more. The first and only impression I have of this other guy is that he's one Angry Dude. As he's ranting, we detached our dolly and unhitched our car and moved the coach back into the site. He literally yelled at us over the sound of a diesel engine saying "you people" can't do this or that and only they can decide where to put us and we were going to get kicked out if we didn't listen. You really can't out-shout a diesel engine but this dude gave it a try.
We finally got our coach in the right place for the utilities. This was a minor problem that I know every campground encounters occasionally. We've seen plenty of coaches, trailers and 5th wheels adjust their position either to get level or to get better placement for utilities. But the ranting of the two men was way over the top and absolutely useless in helping solve the problem. It was a complete knee jerk reaction.
We did consider just leaving but they already had nearly $100 of our money and I didn't feel they deserved to keep it for being unhelpful and inhospitable. Besides, we had plans in Casey and a couple of angry men on power trips weren't going to ruin them.
The ranting owners and employee at Casey KOA need to remember that they're in the HOSPITALITY industry. So yelling and ranting at their guest should be a last resort, not the first thing you do when you encounter a common problem. And Angry Dude needs some sensitivity training as well. Referring to their guest as "you people" can be deemed offensive by some. Or maybe the owners of this KOA should just get out of the hospitality business altogether.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Martha H.Dayton, OH021Sep 13, 2021
This is a very nice KOA. The sites and roads have PLENTY of gravel! Many sites with shade trees. What I want to share most is that we were having a horrible day for many reasons, only one being that we overlooked the fact that we scheduled a w-e site instead of w-e-s. The owner had us changed to what we had wanted and then did not charge us the difference. Plus, they gave us garden cucumbers. I sought out the owner to thank him and tell him he was the one bright spot in this awful day. THEN, he came to our camper with a gift of ice cream to make me feel better. I am still tear-y over that. He is just starting out in this business this year and I wish him all the best. Such a decent human being

Great place for family getaways. Love the pool, fishing pond, and my dog loves the play area for her! Friendly place, one of our favorites.

If you have dogs do not come to this camp ground. I have old sick dogs I can not walk. We put out an oxen in every other camp ground let them do their business and clean up and take down. Not at this camp. They not let any downs of any kind dog must be on leasehold. I could not get my money back or I would have left. We travel cross country and I have never had this
I should have read rest of reviews before coming here but I agree they are the worst. There were so many mosquitoes that they infested our rv and I was killing them fir two days. This is no lie. I must have killed over 100 inside my rv. It was horrible. I drive cross country twice a year and never had a bad experience like we did hereHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, Donna, and for camping with us during your recent visit to Casey. Unfortunately, we do not permit fencing on sites for dogs, and all dogs must be on a maximum of a 6 ft leash as required by law. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused and do wish you all best.

Owners not friendly, rude in fact. When you are checking in at the end of a long day on the road, this is not inviting. Maybe the owners should find another line of business, hospitality doesn't fit them

The Casey KOA was the 8th KOA we stopped at on our cross country journey. Trust me, we were getting to know what makes for a good stay. The campground has a lovely setting, it's clean and situated nicely. The Mrs. Host-lady even doled out cookies for my kiddos when we checked in. 3 stars for beauty, comfort and cleanliness.
Sadly, Mr. Host-man was seriously grumpy. Good bye 5 star rating! After scolding my husband for not parking our travel trailer in the exact spot where Mr. Host-man wanted it, my husband moved the trailer to where Mr.Host-man wanted it. Alas, none of our hoses or cords were long enough. So hubby moved the trailer to a better spot in our site, about 3 feet forward. Mr. Host-man about blew a gasket.
I tried to get the Hosts to help because they are experts, of course. Mrs. Host-lady's solution was for us to buy new, longer hoses and power cords. OUR EQUIPMENT WORKED PERFECTLY AT EVERY OTHER KOA. Anyhow, Mr. Host-man offered no solution. Instead, he glared at me and shook his head as he rode off on his mower. If looks could kill, I'd at least be in intensive care. Yikes!
His wife explained that he was mad our tow vehicle was blocking the driveway as we unhitched. We were clearly blocking the road for the ZERO other people pulling in. Plus, once we unhitched, we re-parked our van. Seems Mr. Host-man wasted his energy being upset when he could have cheerfully asked us to be sure to move our van. Which had been our plan. Yeesh.
Seriously, it's time for the hosts at this KOA to retire. The husband was rude, grumpy, and unhelpful. At least the wife tried to be helpful by giving me a map of things to see in town.
After 8 KOA's (and 6 more to go) I know what makes for a happy camping experience. Step one: be a cheerful host. A smile and friendly wave go far!
***EDIT***
Shame in you at the Casey KOA. You did not send me an official "review your stay" email. You KNOW I would not give a good review. You are being dishonest. How many others did not get to report their disappointment? Now on the KOA website, your campground looks like it's the perfect place to stay. My friends and I stayed here for 1 night. The staff was very friendly towards us and we had no issues at all with them. Reading other reviews people were complaining about the mosquitos. There are a lot of mosquitos because the campground is located next to a big pond, so naturally there will be more mosquitos and other insects. I had 2 big issues with this campground. 1. It is located right off of a major highway so all throughout the night you can here the traffic and it is very loud. 2. We were put at a site that had a light post right in front of it. This wouldn't be an issue if we were in an RV but we were in tents so I had a super bright light shining on me all night. Other than those 2 things I have no other complaints. Overall we had a good experience.
