Food is off the hook! Ordered pazole, 7 mares, and they provided all the toppings tortillas and tostadas. Great lunch spot plus the micheladas are pretty good too

We visited for the first time today on a recommendation from a fellow food lover. It's in Golden Valley, which is a bit of a drive for us, but if the experience is good the drive would be worth it. It was a Sunday afternoon and the might have previously had a rush, but most of the tables weren't really wiped and there was trash and debris on the floor. Keeping the dining area clean should be a regular duty because I always think if the front isn't clean how is the cleanliness in the back and on food prep?
We ordered a Quesabirria ala carte taco (that was recommended), 3 enchilada combo plate, flauta combo plate, side guacamole and a michelada. It came with complimentary chips and salsa-chips were thick, hard and cold so we didn't eat those. The michelada was good and the guacamole was also. I ordered carne asada for the flautas and they were good but had some really hard pieces like cartilage or gristle. My husband loved the enchiladas and rice and beans. The biggest disappointment was the Quesabirria taco-it was just off. The dip tasted old-I only had one bite and didn't eat the rest. I was really hoping for a good overall experience and maybe they were just having an off day.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Dec 26, 2022
This used to be a regular sit down Diner a few years ago, now it's a Mexican restaurant where you order and pay at the counter, and when it's ready, someone brings your order to your table. Pretty efficient system that actually works pretty well. This was the day after Christmas, and there were a lot of people sitting at the many tables enjoying fare from a fairly large menu. We enjoyed complimentary chips and salsa while we waited. We didn't have to wait long, service was very fast.My wife's steak burrito was huge , with a generous portion of tender sirloin. My Chile Relleno was hot and delicious.
The establishment is bright and cheerful with quite a few big screen tvs. We will be back soon to try some of the other menu options.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paige L.Reno, NV163100224Apr 24, 2023
I absolutely love this place. There hasn't been anything I've eaten here I didn't like. Please check them out if you're in the area! They also have a tummy "sweet treat" shop right next door.
I've never had a bad experience here with any of the staff either. They are all so polite and kind. They've upgraded over the years and it makes my heart so happy! Glad to see they are doing well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 22, 2022Updated review
I feel this is "authentic" Mexican food.
Always good. Prices are maybe a shade high, but can't complain about the quality of the food served.
We've only gotten take out, have not been disappointed in the few times we've been here.
Staff is friendly.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Jul 31, 2021Previous reviewThey were extremely busy when I went in on a Saturday at lunch time. First time there and we've been trying to find a local place with good Mexican food. The busy-ness gave me encouragement.
Ordered two burritos, a carne asada taco, and a chicken tostada.
All of them had good helpings of meat and tasted really good.
The lady at the cashier that took the order was really friendly and helpful even though they were busy. It took about 10 minutes to get my food. I took it home and it was good even after a 15 minute drive.
I'll definitely try it again. - Oct 26, 2022
I was craving some Mexican food and didn't feel like driving into town, so I decided to try Carmelita's. I went during the evening and they weren't very busy (yay!), plus the cashier was welcoming once I walked in.
I wasn't sure on what to order as everything looked yummy on the menu. They have burritos, tacos, tortas, and so many other options. I decided to order a chicken burrito, plus guac (~$1-2). While waiting, I decided to go grab some salsas from their salsa bar. It probably took 10-15 minutes for it to be ready.
The burrito was a pretty good size and was good! It came with rice, beans, chicken, cheese, pico, and guac.So happy I stopped by to try them out because it was well worth it. Definitely see myself coming back here soon!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 17, 2022Updated review

This place is awesome, and I go here frequently... I just didn't want anyone to know. Until now. The shop is ran by a few ladies who are all so nice and happy too see you when you walk in.
The burritos, lol. HUGE. Stuffed with chicken. Chile quesadilla is my go to also, stuffed!
One thing I will say is their chicken lacks flavor that other places seem to have. However I don't mind giving it flavor myself with sauces and having healthier cooked chicken.
Stop by, tip well, and eat good! - Carington G.Sparks, NV2418Sep 24, 2023
Paid for two breakfast. Got one delivered. When I approached the counter to speak to them I was ignored. And then told me only one was paid for. Double checked my receipt and bank statement. 50$ for one breakfast at $17 .. I'm not the best at math but always have high reviews of this place until this encounter. Needles to say. Go elsewhere.

This restaurant was delish and the woman was so nice and helpful. A couple of us got enchiladas one with green sauce and one with red. We ate our plates clean. Loved it. The same can be said for the two people that ordered chili rellano. So cheesy and delicious. My green sauce on my enchilada was outstanding. I'd go there again and again.

Amazing carne asada tacos. Meat spiced to perfection wrapped in tasty cooked just right tortillas. Fresh cilantro and onions with excellent salsa choices. Side of roasted jalapeños scrumptious. Great female cooks and warm friendly staff. Dine in and enjoy!
