I really wanted to do the whole cake/tea time thing while I was in Bath. Seems like the thing to do! Saw good reviews on Google and Trip Advisor, so I went here. I got the Coffee Fudge cake. Large slice for £4.95 and a glass of rosè to make me feel fancy. I've seen cheaper cakes but I can't knock this one. It was lovely and the servers were nice, you just occasionally have to catch their eye since it's Europe and they aren't pushy.

Rose for £5.20 and the Coffee Fudge Cake for £4.95

Looking for a nice place to go with your Mum, Nan, or The Girls for a cake or a light lunch in Bath?
Well stop looking, because you have found it!

Cafe Lucca is located in the beautiful and atypically 'Bath' Bartlett Street - amongst a traditional and picturesque network of old cobbled streets at the top of the main shopping parade of Milsom Street.
In this little spot, just out of the hustle and bustle, is a treasure trove of cafes, boutique shops, and antique shops. Cafe Lucca is located within the trendy Homeware and Clothing store 'The Loft'.

If you are after tea and cake you won't be dissapointed. The counter is stock full of many, many cakes, tarts, pastries and biscuits.
-Deliciously dark and gooey 'matilda' chocolate fudge cake
-Pumpkin, walnut and maple cake with cream cheese frosting
-Thick slabs of millionaires shortbread topped with crisp and glossy dark chocolate, decorated with delicate brush strokes of milk chocolate.
... I could go on for hours...

If you are after lunch then this also is the place to be.
They serve 'Modern Italian' specialities such as bruchettas , paninnis and seasonal salads.
The serving counter is also filled with the colourful bowls of salads that accompany the lunch dishes, hearty, healthy and delicious.
      - Green Beans with Almonds, Orange and Tarragon
      - Roasted Butternut Squash with Raisins and Goats Cheese
      - Vine Tomatoes with Basil, Shallots and White Balsamic
      ...Just devine...

Top marks from me. Why not give it a go?

      Pumkin, maple and wanut cake!

Well this was just a five minute walk from the Francis Hotel and is a great place to have a wonderful cup of coffee any time of the day . A little off the beaten path from the rest but as your kicking back just taking it in your just not worried what the rest of the world is doing. Amazing how the inexpensive things in life are most cherished. Was just so appreciative being able to sit and chill and enjoy the surroundings and courteous service. I hid from my family just to have some quiet time but unfortunately they found me. So now it's off to find another place to hide out. Think some of you out there know what I'm talkn about. Just telling it like it is they know I love them! Hey this is Gloria wishing you a glorious day n eve ova n out.

We passed this place going from our hotel heading down the hill, past the Assembly Rooms, toward the center of Bath. It's a nice cafe inside a bigger shop called The Loft, nearby some other nice clothing and shoe shops. Inside the Loft, you can find Cafe Lucca, clothing, housewares, furniture, flowers... The space is huge, nice big high ceilings and glass windows. My mom had a macchiato, I had a cappuccino and piece of polenta cake. We took the comfy chairs by the window, read the paper/mags, wandered the store. As we were leaving, the lunch food was being put out on the counter, a huge platter of green beans (looked good!). Other reviews on other sites said service was iffy, but we were there a few minutes after it opened, just past 10am, so no issue... Worth a visit if you pass by.
