We moved! Just a few short blocks south of our first location, we’re stepping up to the plate in Milwaukee's Walkers Point neighborhood is Broken Bat Brewing Company, a baseball-themed sports bar featuring plentiful seating and multiple televisions for the spectator's viewing pleasure.

We are Packers fans from Indy. When headed to Green Bay, Broken Bat was our second stop on the trip of the year. We found the brewery online and (after talking to the team at Broken Bat) decided some wiffle ball would be the perfect respite on the way to the Tundra.
We were not disappointed. The place has a baseball theme and we were welcome to sample the beers prior to first pitch. We rented the field for an hour and after serious stretching played 3 three-inning games of 2v2. It was amazing.
The crew behind the bar was friendly and knowledgable. The beers were cold. The swag well designed. WE WILL BE BACK. Go Pack Go.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 516331249Jan 4, 2024
For a brewery, I think Broken Bat is pretty great in Milwaukee! I am not really a beer drinker but I think that this brewery has some options with strong ABV that are also tasty!
The biggest appeal to this brewery is that you can rent out the wiffle ball field in the back of it and play! This was so nostalgic of childhood memories and just a ton of fun. I believe it is around $170 to rent out the field for an hour. They recommend having about 10 people on each team but you can do more or less and I am sure that it will still be great.
The bartenders are friendly and welcoming.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 295215750Dec 10, 2023
We rented out the whiffle ball field for our company Holiday party. It was a blast!!! Everyone had a great time. The service was excellent. Loved all the different drink options. We didn't hang in the bar area but it looked like a great place to watch a game.

Update, since I've been to Broken Bat Brewing's newer big league digs a few times and just haven't written about it. You got your sports televisions above the bar, plenty of seating in their larger space, and a full on wiffle ball court that's reservable!
That and they keep upping their beer and seltzer game. Was there recently and they've instituted a price change to accomodate a no-tipping strategy, which the bartender explained. Nice that they're trying to serve the servers, oh no. Broken Bat- Hit 'em up!Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0Business owner information

Kyle, thank you so much for your support and review. Hope to see you in the new taproom soon!
May 16, 2019Previous reviewSecond visit to this dugout-worthy basement bar in the Third Ward, I bellied up to the bar, and enjoyed the Brewers game on the flat screens, while many people were talkin' baseball.
Flights of four six-ounce pours is a good deal at $14, and attractively presented.
After a few visits, it's still just a-okay, as I have other craft beer favorites in Milwaukee. Below are my ratings on my Untappd 5-star scale from best to worst (beers rotate all the time, so these won't all be available).
Double Play- 5 stars, this IIPA knocked it out of the park
Climb the Wall- 4.5 stars, Saison/Farmhouse Ale was citrusy, and nice
Beach Ball- 3.25 stars, Pineapple Milkshake IPA
Straight Chedd- 2.75 stars, American Pale Ale
Harry Cherry- 2.25 stars, I had higher hopes for this Cherry Hefeweizen with amazing branding
Mint Condition- 1 star, This mint Porter that everyone was ordering was a swing and a miss.
They've got cans now, and the branding is very popping. Small food menu is available and gets delivered in, and I wish them many extra innings in the Third Ward!Apr 10, 2017Previous reviewBroken Bat Brewing Co. in the Third Ward is a rookie hoping to make big contributions in the fast growing Milwaukee craft brewing scene. Opening in early April 2017, it was packed on "Opening Day".
Their underground dugout in the Third Ward screams Cheers, and is pretty utilitarian looking. Nice touches of full color prints of their beer labels, baseball card murals in the bathrooms, some Hank Aaron memorabilia, and a wood bat door handle are cool; but there's not much else going on besides some high tops and a concrete bar. Glass windows to the brewing area make the space seem less claustrophic.
If you want to go for the cycle they have flights for that! I started with a flight of all the available Broken Bat beers:
- Straight Chedd- American Pale Ale, 2.75/5 stars
- Double Play- Dbl IPA knocked it out of the park 5 stars
- Mint Condition- a mint Porter that everyone was ordering, but it was a swing and a miss at 1 star
- Climb the Wall- Saison/Farmhouse Ale was very citrusy, and so nice I got it twice- 4.5 stars
They also offered a Visitor's tap by Third Space Brewing. The Home Team staff is really nice here, even though they had to contend with a sellout crowd. I was told that bringing in outside food is fine for now, and there are plans for Broken Bat to have their own foodtruck or guest foodtruck right outside their door. I'm looking forward to trying more of their offerings, and wish them well on their foray into the Bigs. - Aug 18, 2022
I was pretty shocked I hadn't come across this place when doing my research on a Milwaukee visit. Someone at the nearby Bobblehead Hall of Fame told me about it and I knew I had to work it into my visit.
If you're a baseball and craft beer fan this place is an absolute must. Every beer name is a play on something baseball related and the relatively new taproom would make for a great place to catch games.
Even from a purely beer fan perspective I think they're worth a visit. They had a few unique options and seem to cycle new ideas in and out pretty frequently. The two unique ones I tried were a white wine aged witbier and a tequila aged lager. I thought the witbier was fantastic, the lager was a little less my speed, but if you're a tequila fan I'd highly recommend.
I wish there were an equivalent spot available to me in Austin and more elsewhere around the country. Can't recommend this place enoughHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Recently, I went to Broken Bat after visiting a long time ago. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the got a new head brewer and the beer is much better than it used to be. I tried several different styles and they were all good. I also found out they have a very nice 2nd floor area for events. After previously avoiding this place, I have to say I will be going back and suggesting to others that they give them a second chance.

America's pastime married with Wisconsin's pastime, a match made in heaven. We're always treated very well here and atmosphere pays tremendous reverence to the game without being overblown or tacky. I very much recommend the Corre Corre, Mr. Oktoberfest, Benny and Ripper. Great variety to say the least.

This was my last stop before heading back home in this weekend trip to Wisconsin. I enjoyed their space which is huge and I bet that they host sun parties for birthdays etc. I wasn't to keen in the menu so I just had one of their brews. The location is central and you can walk to the MKE Public Market. There is no parking lot but we found parking on a side street.

Fun & great place. I have yet to have a bad beer or boring visit. Plus it allows dogs so if you have a well trained pupper then you can go in.

Thank you for your review, Nolan! Hope to see you in the bar soon
Mar 5, 2022Previous reviewVery Cool place with great beer selection. Very large open bar area great for meetups with friends. Great place for any baseball fan since the names are all baseball affiliated

Good beer with a theme that is ideal for baseball fans. Usually make it here once a baseball season, which is perfect because there are always new beers to sample by then. Most of the beers have some silly names, but I wouldn't let that throw you off. The bartender told me one of there most popular is the Beach Ball Pineapple Milkshake IPA and I would have to agree it is delicious. The food truck outside is a must stop as well, whether it's before, during, or after. If I lived in Milwaukee I would definitely be here frequently, even if it was just to pick up a four-pack. Broken Bat Brewing Co is a concrete miracle.
