I brought my dog to be groomed here. Please do not use this vet. My dog was hurt and cut and shaved in places when I asked them not to. I walked in and heard my dog crying and asked if that was my dog. I was told that it wasn't but my dog is 10 years old and I know it was.
Please, please do not bring your animal here. Honestly, they should not be practicing.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Max W.TN, TN02May 22, 2022
Like many of the reviews here, I have nothing nice to say about Brainerd Hills Veterinary Hospital, and all for the same reasons.
My wife worked there for three weeks and the entire time was subjected to verbal and emotional abuse by Dr Prince. She would whistle at her like a dog to get her attention, talk down to her and other employees, be rude to clients, constantly assign people tasks while in the middle of other tasks, and made generally everyone there miserable. We were also told that this was a regular thing and she had run off several other employees with her awful behavior.
The final straw came on what ended up being my wife's last day. After Dr Prince's unprofessional behavior made her cry twice in one day, she was sent home by her boss (Dr Prince's son, the younger Dr Haddock, who from all accounts is a wonderful guy to work for and is stuck in an unfortunate situation. All the best to him) At home, my wife quit without notice and was offered no apology, they just told us that her final check will be sent in the mail.
A week later we received the check and it was short because of their "company policy" that leaving without notice means your last check is paid out at minimum wage. Almost as if this is a regular occurrence with them. We plan on reaching out to a lawyer and the Department of Labor as retroactive wage cuts are illegal in the United States.
Speaking of legality, I don't know how I got this far without mentioning their unsanitary practicing. They use mercury thermometers (which have been outlawed in veterinary medicine for years), reuse one-use syringes and curtains which are washed with Dawn dish soap, and perform surgery on animals without any gowns in regular street clothes. I would never trust this place with my pets.
I feel bad for the rest of the family as they all seem decent and God bless the other techs that choose to work there, for however long they can last in an abusive workplace.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Zubin P.Cleveland, TN01514Jul 15, 2018
Imagine your pet being dragged around by the leash and physically abused by the Vet. Then imagine that Vet talking to her employees in a condescending, emotionally abusive way, while "whistling" at them as if they were a misbehaved hound.
Well folks, you don't have to imagine these things, as they are a reality at this clinic. Dr. Prince is whom I'm referring to.
This Vet does not have any regard for your animals emotional well being, and expects her employees to be just as cruel to the same animals. But it's not just the animals who are abused. The employees are repeatedly yelled at, corrected in Hitler style by making them childishly repeat out loud any "mistakes" she says they've made. My Fiancé came home crying three different times while working there, until she and I finally had enough! And that's only in one week of working there! I personally had to go with my fiancé to get her last check because she was terrified to face Dr. Prince after her sub human treatment.
I will admit, I have left negative reviews on multiple platforms so that everyone has a chance so see our experience with this business. Facebook, google, and now here.
I'm not trying to destroy her business, which I don't think that one review can do. But see the other negative reviews and make an informed decision based on our experience.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kandi B.Collegedale, TN422Jul 9, 2019
It is unfortunate that the person answering the phone is giving a very poor impression for the business. Being curt and in-personable is not acceptable in a time where customer service is so important, and competition is so prolific. I have been using the veterinarians here for years and they are very nice and professional. However, I do not want to deal with the headache of scheduling with someone who doesn't see the value of being courteous.

Friendly staff that take care of your furry loved ones. I take my maltese Buddy here for his checkups and shots. They are good at calling you/ sending reminders in the mail of shots that are due. Dr. Haddock is great, very informative for any of your questions you may have.

Horrible place! I got a job there month ago. And all that time I worked there it was horrible. I was stressing out so much. I came home crying 3 times. Dr Prince is a horrible doctor and an owner. She don't know how to treat employees there. She hate her life so much and trying to show it to everybody. Can you imagine person like that will be work with your animals? Don't ever go there.
