We came here on a Saturday around 12:30pm on our way home from a hike. We were with our dog so we sat outside. There was plenty of bench and table seating. The server was very attentive. As soon as someone left an employee would be right there to clear the table and spray and wipe it down. We got the pretzel as an appetizer. The flavor was good but it was too hard for my liking. Not as soft as I would hope a soft pretzel would be. My pizza was pretty good. The beer was ice cold and that was excellent after the strenuous hike we had just finished. This is a cool spot with spacious seating. We would come here again if in the area.

I have been a fan of the blowing rock IPA for years so it was nice to visit here. I got the bison burger for my meal. It was good, less fat than beef burgers. This was my first time having bison. It was pricey ($17) but that's to be expected. The service was great.

Beer was great, staff was great, unfortunately the pizza was dry. I think it was over-cooked, because the fresh basil was more like dried basil and the crust was like a table water cracker. Maybe it was their take on a thin crust, but it was just way too crispy and very little, if any, sauce.
Again, really good beers and staff was super-friendly. Could have been an off night in the kitchen.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ray H.FL, FL48754Jan 16, 2024
I really enjoyed my lunch. I was looking for a burger and a beer and found the perfect place to get it. I asked one of the wait staff if the bison burger was good or if it tended to be a bit on the dry side. She said absolutely not, it's delicious and explained, "we have 2 burgers. the bison is sweet and savory and the ale house burger is a bit on the spicy side." I decided on the bison, prepared medium. It was perfect! I wish we had one of these locations in our town. I'll definitely be back.

Come for the home made beer battered onion rings, order a flight (be sure to get the chocolate porter and a stout) and for the love of God, add the apple jalapeño slaw to any burger. The burger is an 8, add the slaw makes it an 11. Ranch dip is great! We highly recommend this place.

Took my mama and sister here for a Birthday lunch for my mama. Started with some apps. Was disappointed they did not have Bison Chili on the menu but showed up on website. It is my mother's favorite especially in the winter. She ordered the Artichoke spinach dip to share with my sister. I tried some. The pita chips were delicious but the dip was not hot and bubbly. It was like a big pile of mush. I tried their soup of the day Broccoli cheddar. It was good but could have been a lot hotter. My sister and mom ordered their Fish and Chips. They loved them! I ordered their Spicy Fried Chicken sandwich it was good and fries were hot and tasty. Not sure if we will come back? Atmosphere was nice and staff friendly. Bathroom was handicapped which is very important for me with my mother.

My rating isn't for the food-since I never received any service so I just got up and left.
The restaurant wasn't busy and the hostess quickly set us inside (she was very friendly) and we waited for someone to take our orders. We waited for 15 minutes, multiple employees walked by with no acknowledgment and the bartender and servers sitting at the bar eating and laughing.
Was very excited to try the food-won't go back to give it a chance.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Chosen O.Oak Ridge, TN4356Apr 2, 2023
Super chill place to go. Nice outdoor seating area in case you don't need the noise and bustle inside. The real story is the quality of the beer. The Porter was VERY English in style, high in taste and very low in carbonation - just about as perfect as it gets. The stout was another world class brew, again absolutely on point. These are truly MASTER BREWERS who can compete with anyone in the USA.
A good sign is when they admit their limits. We were told they did not brew the ciders so they carefully and skillfully selected top names in this line of business such as Blakes from Michigan. Amazing honesty.
Service is both professional and snappy. Amazing place on many levels.
The pretzels were very very good. Served with a near English style mustard they were both tasty and attractive. The kitchen staff are also on top of their game.
Easily a "Go-to" place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 15, 2022
This is a nice place to go and grab some beers but I would not recommend going hungry. The food was just okay. We ate it because we paid for it but we would not order any of these dishes again. The Lusty-Monk "Original Sin" Mustard was so intense it has a surprising bite to it - be prepared for it to take your breath away! Oppositely, the pizza was flavorless & the best part of the salad was the shaved Parmesan. We chose to dine outside which was nothing special but the inside has a nice vibe. Our waitress was kind & professional, she kept it short & to the point. We were there when they were not busy but it did take awhile for the food to arrive.
