I came here for the beer. My brother and I had several beers in the 400 mL for €6 give or take. The beers were exactly as described in the menu, so you can be sure of what you are getting just from reading the menu, which can come in English.
I didn't have any food but it looked like the standard Triestino buffet with sausages and sour kraut. There is a small bar you can stand at to drink or you can ask for a seat at the half dozen 4-top tables out front. There are (at least) three dining rooms that seemed to be set up to accommodate large parties of 20-something people. There were two large groups of older people there on a Monday night at 8 PM.
Service was unremarkable.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mauro R.West Palm Beach, FL75283236Dec 13, 2014
Birreria Forst offers traditional Trieste cuisine, but fares just okay in my book. The food is okay (rare to have bad food in Trieste), a little overpriced for the quality. The atmosphere and the service seem a bit self-complacing.
Somehow this place is "in-between".
Traditional cuisine but not as fresh and authentic as others.
Prices are a tiny bit above average for this level of food.
Service is not bad, but not good either. There's a sort of "we know we are getting customers anyway" attitude, or maybe I went in the wrong night.
Would I go back? maybe, with local friends, if they want to. But wouldn't go outn of my way to go there on purposes. In a city like Trieste there are plenty of better options.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
