The food here's amazing, I had the 1/2 lb bigge burger with siwss, bacon, jalapeños and it was the best burger I've ever had in my life. Great customer service

A great burger at a very reasonable price! Well definitely keep coming back here. The bread is choice- yum - crispy/flaky. The burger was tasty and the toppings were tasteful. Nothing greasy/soggy. The serving team was nice and pleasant and the inside has plenty of clean seating.

BigE Burgers opened where The Damel & Subway was. infrastructure reduced to simple ordering counter & large inside seating area.
offerings: Burgers (Veggie, Turkey, Impossible, Fish), Chicken items, drinks, shakes, desserts, sides, baskets (fish, chicken)...
upon ordering at counter, food appears in 10ish minutes ready to be picked up. self service condiments, utensils are at displays near front window. smiling associates standing by to render promptly any services needed.
eats: 1/2# Big E burger (10.50) with lettuce, tomato, raw onions, big E sauce or other sauces.
-100% Angus Beef antibiotics and hormone free. can be ordered medium rare. medium well is the standard.
-burger had lots of juices from the rareness, creating a soggy mess dissolving the buns. best not eaten while driving or moving.
-bite of burger had a nice texture save for the chewiness of the meat. chewiness didn't detract from the unami burger experience
-the BigE sauce isn't my fav, preferred dijon mustard instead.

4.5 stars:
-BigE resembles a Beep's Burger as there's a common owner.
-definitely my fave burger not from a gourmet eatery.
-parking isn't easy. most patrons are from nearby offices..Helpful 30Thanks 5Love this 28Oh no 0 - Paul G.El Cerrito, CA214912Apr 24, 2024
Finally a really great and reasonably priced burger in downtown Oakland. It's hard to find a burger that I'll come back to, but BigE Burgers are great and I don't feel like I'm being ripped off. They have a couple of sauce options and they're both good. The fries are also very good. The service is always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for a casual lunch burger when you're in downtown Oakland.

My office is next to this spot and it's been on my mind to visit one of these days. That day was today and I arrived at around 12:30 and noticed a large group seated inside of about 20. That really should have been a sign to leave because they didn't have their food yet, but there wasn't a line so I placed my order and waited, unfortunately for about 30 minutes, so definitely not the quick lunch I was expecting but my fault for not calling ahead for takeout.
I took my order back to the office and pleased with how everything was packaged. Even though it's more waste I did appreciate that the burger didn't get smashed in transit. The fries are good, not the best curly fries I've had but they definitely had flavor and there's a lot of them. After reading all of the reviews, I was expecting a lot from the burger but in my opinion it was just fine. I'm not sure if the sauce was too overpowering, because it had a pretty nondescript taste, but I felt like I couldn't taste the patty at all, I just knew it was there.
As I was waiting I saw a lot of other orders go out and the chicken nuggets looked good, so I might try those or a chicken sandwich on a next visit, but I wouldn't recommend them based on the burger alone.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jun 8, 2023
Got Big E for lunch today because I heard good things about their burgers. I committed the ultimate sin of not getting their hamburger and opting for grilled chicken instead. I'm trying to lower my red meat intake, but round bread makes everything taste 10 times better so the chicken also turned out pretty good.
To make things worse, I forgot to add cheese to the sandwich. I know, unforgivable. I made up for this by coming up with the genius idea of adding some jalapeño poppers in the sandwich and crushing them. The cream cheese and jalapeños oozed out to make it the ultimate grilled chicken sandwich.
Jokes aside, the chicken was juicy and the sandwich was well put together. The bun got soggy really quick, which isn't great. For some reason I keep ordering jalapeño poppers to relive my childhood, and most of the time they aren't that great. Today wasn't different. The cheese didn't feel complementary, but all in all I enjoyed the meal, especially the addition of poppers to the sandwich.
Will eventually come back again to try their hamburgers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 28, 2023
Sometimes you just want a tasty burger and garlic fries and this place sure knows how to whip them up! Thanks to Cheryl M. for your helpful review!
The place seemed newish and I had it bookmarked for a while until my burger craving got the best of me.
Came on a Wednesday, crowd was minimal, staff was friendly, inside was clean and inviting with some table and counter seating. Menu had variety, but not overwhelmingly so- I decided to go with a 1/4 pounder with cheddar, grilled mushrooms and garlic fries.
Holy cow - their garlic fries are huge! They were also deliciously crispy and flavorful but I definitely needed someone else to share them with me. The burger was also really yummy. The fluffy brioche bun made it more "gourmet," the patty and mushrooms were seasoned and cooked well, lettuce and tomato were fresh, and the Big Em sauce was flavorful.
I'd definitely return to try the other items- fried chicken sandwich and curly fries are next on my list!Helpful 12Thanks 2Love this 11Oh no 1 - 1447692Mar 2, 2023
There's truly nothing better than a superbly executed burger. And BigE Burgers knows what it takes to do it. Their buns? A beautiful brioche that not only has the structural integrity to hold all your favorite toppings, but also tastes incredible. The BigE sauce is "special", more burger sauce than thousand island. Grilled onions. Caramelized. Cheese, melty (they offer cheddar, Swiss and American). You can customize your burger to your delight! And whatever your delight is, you can count on the burger being delightfully juicy.
We ordered:
BigE 1/4 burger: w/ grilled onions, lettuce no tomato, Swiss cheese. Incredible. I literally nom nommed. Comes with BigE sauce.
1/4 burger: hold the mayo, add avocado, bacon and grilled onions, cheddar cheese, and bbq sauce. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed.
Sides: we ordered their onion rings and curly fries. My goodness they know how to fry here. Both items came out perfectly crispy and tasty. Onions didn't slide out of the ring either, which is a triumph. I want to try their sweet potato fries next time.
The restaurant itself is very industrial and modern, and my only complaint: very cold. To be fair, it was a cold day when we went but we definitely had to keep our jackets on.
Service was great! A+.
Oh! Before I forget... the prices are very reasonable!! I couldn't believe it. There's definitely a bang for your buck situation going on here.
Next time I'll try the 1/4 burger with the garlic mayo, add ketchup, no tomatoes, grilled onions, add bacon. It's my second favorite way to consume a burger. And the garlic mayo sounds delicious.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
