There were some real tasty goodies in here, especially Whoo's Donuts from Santa Fe, which are to die for. I had a bacon maple chile log and it was divine. Other tasty treats we got our hands on were some excellent brittles---green and red chile peanut and cherry pecan--- and a variety of different fudges and acaí based foods and drinks. However, with the exception of the uber-friendly brittle lady and the talkative acaí guy (who was entirely in sales made, but still nice), most people weren't interested in having people sample their goods and were entirely focused on making a sale.

Now, if we were in any of these folks stores, I'd understand the desire to make a sale, but considering that this was a festival that costs $10 to enter, one would assume that one is getting some benefit from shelling out that dough. One certainly wouldn't expect to go in and find one's self having to shell out more dough for other products. As a matter of fact, as I was going in, I overheard a woman asking for a refund and she said something to the effect of: "I paid ten dollars to get in and there's nothing to sample just more people wanting my money." This was a good summation of this festival.

The website described it as sort of a circus but this was a serious stretch, as their were a couple of guys walking around juggling (and I just thought they were some weirdos I'd want to keep my kids away from---apparently this was their job though) and some face-painting.

In the end, I'm thankful to our community manager for covering the entrance so I didn't have to eat that and I also thank him for buying everyone Whoo's Donuts. This made the festival all better for me.
