My friend and I went today. We go lots of times. You never know what surprises you might stumble upon while just browsing.
They have some great deals and some overpriced. You should know how much an item costs elsewhere to get the best deal.
I have had my eye on this outside lounge chair since spring and it is on sale from $99 to $60. They have offered this price before and I didn't purchase it. (Too rich for my blood .) if they really want to reduce the price more then I would totally be interested.
Here are a few pics of items that you just can't find anywhere.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 5, 2023
Easy Shopping similar to a Wal-Mart as far as the selection. You can basically find everything you need for your family. Another similarly but not to Wal-Mart more like Dollar General because there isnt a cashier readily available. You may stand for a minute or so waiting for one to appear. There is a huge range of summer merchandise. Grills, patio furniture, swimming accessories just to name a few.

My son and I stopped by here around 1:40pm on a Sunday afternoon to look for a couch and a desk for my new work office. I instantly noticed Christmas and Halloween decor. The store was decent sized. I thought it was the same one I bought my living room furniture from a couple years ago but it was actually the other big lots in High Point. The selection jefe was limited. It had many sectionals. The couches were too firm, in my opinion, and not comfy. I didn't see any desk, at least that were already put together. There was many things on clearance and ample sales going on. Unfortunately, I don't see anything for my purpose of coming during this visit.

Sort of run down. They didn't have much of a selection of things and the prices of things were equivalent to Walmart. The place didn't appear clean. We waited in line for a while to check out with the one item we had.
The place seemed like they needed more workers up at the registers, along with employees throughout the store to help people or to clean up the shelves.
Not much of a bargain on things. You're better off at TJMaxx or Walmart, heck, even Amazon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This location always has great customer service, is well stocked, and currently has good selection of food at prices much lower than local grocery stores.

I love Big Lots for deals on random stuff. It's a fun pace to go walk around when you want to shop without spending much money. There are a few issues tho. This particular location has really gone down hill lately. They "remodeled" when they added the refrigerated section, but they didn't do much to improve the shipping experience. It's often unkempt and a little dirty. Some items are covered in dust. I like to buy easter basket and stocking stuffers but the price stickers they use can be a problem, as they can't be removed without damaging the package. Even if you find the perfect gift here, you're stuck with an obvious big lots price tag on it, or a ripped package.
They do have some unique snacks and food (things that weren't a hit at the mainstream stores I suppose) that can be fun to try and only available here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Charity P.Kernersville, NC01Jun 9, 2020
I have shopped at several big lots locations in the last few months
I've recently moved into a new home and because they have great prices and they are giving a 15% off discount to first responders I've tried to take advantage of the discount
I've been in the big lot stores located in Durham
Greensboro
and Winston Salem
And only in the High Point store was I told that I was not a first responder when I presented my badge to the cashier
She had idea what a first responder is nor does the manager
Someone need to do some training on what is a first responser
They seem to think that first responders are only military
So be prepared to debate if you are a first responder if you try to use the discount
I wasn't as disappointed in the cashier not knowing as I was the Manager

I'm cool with this Big Lots. Now if you are not familiar with the brand all together then I'm sure it could be a disappointment. This location has been here forever, but for the locals - it's appreciated.
You can get random household items, but most of them are off brand. They are cheap so if your needing something for convenience - you would not be wasting a lot of money.
The wall art, furniture, seasonal decorations and household goods are nice options for a first time renter or home owner.
The back parking lot needs a lot of prayer, but it gets you to the road okay (I guess lol).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Valerie J.High Point, NC1124Jun 10, 2017
The worst service ever and the manager was right there yaking with the employees, not helping customers. We were struggling with the Pepsi display, since it was improperly stacked while the cashier was laying across the desk of the register. I counted 5 employees doing nothing but yaking.....

This store is good to run in and grab cleaning supplies. I usually pick up Clorox, Oxi Clean, Febreeze and other things needed for the house.
Most of the time the store is a little disheveled and unorganized but I assume with the clientele coming in that usually comes in it is hard to keep things tidy. I usually see people letting their kids run rampant through the store and touch this and that all while the parents shop and pay no attention to anything.
If you come in I would try to make it a quick trip. Get in, get out and be done with it until next time. I stock up on the cleaning products so that I don't have to come back that often.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
