Wow I had such low expectations for this place because I had no idea what to expect of this place... but oh man was this place bomb! We went on a Sunday afternoon, there was no crowd, and I'm typically used to SoCal boil, but wow the EZ blend seasoning and flavoring on the crawfish was incredible! It was well salted, flavorful, and the crawfish were big and juicy. For a place that looked like a casual convenience store, this place knows how to make a great seafood boil. Will be making it back here when I visit again!

Large party and we were able to be seated together without having to wait. You order and sit down, they bring the food to you and you pay when you're done with the meal. I think they aren't used to serving a large party though because they definitely gave our order to our friends even though we were the first to order. Didn't really get much besides a "sorry 'bout it" even when we followed up on order and they told us to just wait.
Got gumbo, garlic noodles, and crawfish etouffee. The gumbo and garlic noodles were okay and the crawfish etouffee definitely was a lot better. It was creamy and rich and had a good amount of crawfish tails inside. We got 3 lbs crawfish and 2 lbs of shrimp since it came in the deal with extra add on items. You can't adjust the spice level and I felt it was a mild, would've liked the option to make it spicier. The soft shelled crab poboy was good.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 4, 2023
This time we drove out of NOLA and into Algiers specifically to try this seafood place. Sometimes finding the outbid way spots are so much better.
This is not fancy by any means and qualifies as a mom n pop. So we were excited.
The smells are unbelievable as soon as you walk in. We loved the smell of fresh seafood and it's a market as well. Fresh crabs sitting in bins ok top of the counter. The two young men behind the counter were so helpful and friendly.
Decided on the special. It was very reasonable at $45. Came with shrimp, soft shell crab, sausage, two ears of corn, hard boiled eggs AND snow crab legs. Then we can pick out our cold beers from the cooler.
I would have given them 5 all day long, except the shrimp were way overcooked. The sauce is spicy but full of so many awesome flavors!
We would come back again next time we're in NOLA!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 27, 2023
LOCATION: Lafayette/17th
PARKING: Small lot in front of the business (~10 spots)
WHAT WE ORDERED:
*Bourbon Basket w/ EZ Blend (MP)
Had to get seafood boil before going home. The Bourbon Basket fed four girls and left us completely satiated. The shrimp, crab legs, and potatoes were packed with so much flavor. I didn't care too much for the hard-boiled egg. The EZ Blend was a fantastic choice, encapsulating flavors from both the Viet-Cajun and Cajun Citrus blends. The only downside was that crawfish wasn't in season, so we couldn't order that. Shoutout to our Uber driver for the recommendation!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 283298Apr 4, 2024
The shrimp po boy was the best po boy I've ever had, it had a perfect balance of sauce to shrimp and bread! The cashier in the front was very helpful when ordering size for our large party. The crawfish viet Cajun flavor was a saucy garlic flavor, CRAZY FLAVOR. And their traditional was okay, not too spicy for non spicy eaters. This place was PACKED every time we came there was a line and inside was filled. Parking is also a little tough so give yourself extra time to find parking or order and take it to go!

I was excited to try BIG EZ Seafood, but I was ultimately disappointed. I've had Asian Cajun food from all over the country, and I was expecting this place to blow me away. However, the flavors were not as bold as I had imagined, and they were out of crawfish during lunch! This is a major disappointment, considering that New Orleans is the crawdad capital of the world. I ended up getting the king crab, which was fresh, but it wasn't worth the price tag.
The concept of the restaurant is great, but it can be a bit confusing. The staff at the counter seemed distracted and on their phones, which didn't start off the experience well. Overall, I would not recommend BIG EZ Seafood to anyone looking for a great Asian Cajun meal.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 23, 2023
BOMB DOT COM!
We did 2 lbs of snow crab, 1lb of blue crab, with corn and potatoes and it was so delicious! We choose the garlic butter sauce for some of it and the blend of sauces for the rest! SO MUCH FOOD! 10/10 recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 32736Mar 12, 2024
The seafood is really fresh however it's a little bit confusing to order if you're not familiar with seafood boils, and it gets pretty expensive but that's expected. The employees and ambiance were a little odd and the location is low key in the middle of nowhere but food is worth it. I really liked the shrimp, lobster, and potatoes with the cajun butter broth. I didn't love the eggs--two powdery. The animal fries were really good too, but skip out on the fried chicken (nothing special)

The food itself was quite amazing and felt like a true New Orleans experience. The yakamein was recommended to us, as this is a twist on pho with a hint of New Orleans (had chicken, shrimp, veggies, boiled egg, and the broth was flavorful). The seafood boil was incredible, and I liked how they had options of what sauces it could come in.
What I did not like about this place was the service and ambiance. For starters, you don't pay for your bill until after your meal is done (but you aren't served really like with a waiter or waitress to come check on you). When we were asking the workers questions about what to get, they weren't very helpful so make sure you know what you want ahead of time. After you order, you just find an open table and wait for your food. However, there were a few tables that were not cleaned off to sit at. Finally, toward the end of our meal, my boyfriend and I kept hearing a snapping noise. We didn't realize that this was some sort of fly or bug trap until we almost finished the meal completely. It appeared to have just been by the back door and not in the kitchen so maybe it was okay...
It definitely would turn me off from ever going there again, but I am glad we experienced it once.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 8, 2023
Oh my, this was my first time having crawfish.
I was taught the proper way to eat it and, have to say, they were delicious.
I got 2 pounds of the Cajun flavoured with corn and it was delightful- especially for my first time.
I loved the communal tables and readily available paper towel everywhere.
I usually can't handle spice so I was surprised how well I lasted!
Strong recommendation, I'd go back the next time I'm in NOLAHelpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0
